I can already see the youtubers doing boss rush, and finishing off every boss battle with a wine glass throw attack hehe.
I remember Igarashi was asked if there'll be an equivalent to having candles in ROTN, and he said he believed that candles were good for the flow/tempo of the game (or something like that). Pretty sure it was in one of the ask videos or the reddit AMA. It may be not beneficial for Miriam, but there's always the other two characters to take into consideration. Since she's the first protagonist though, hopefully they'll still be of use.

That sword is really beautiful! I personally have only used stock whips (just for show) and machetes (for navigating through jungle) in reality. It'd be nice to see an authentic katana in real life. I only knew about the weapon poll after it had ended. I probably would have chosen Rapier as well, due to how fun it was to use in SOTN (that and the werebane).
Has anyone suggested a limited-hit weapon yet btw? Something like Fire Emblem has, where you can only use it a limited amount of times. To balance it out/make it worth finding/crafting, it would have to have a significantly higher damage output than normal weapons, or maybe even unique attacks (like the sword lasers from the older Zelda games).

Also, bit off topic, but I was playing CV: Judgement last night, and I had no idea Galamoth was in that game too! There could be a character that has been there from a previous age. We don't know how time exactly works in the castle, so maybe we could have a character who was trapped inside the castle from a time long forgotten. Maybe it doesn't even have to be human. What comes to mind is the sentient dinosaurs from Chrono Trigger, where they were the original civilized race of Earth, but an accident happened which wiped them out, but left the humans alive to thrive in a dinosaur-free world. Maybe the incident in this case could be the castle being summoned, and to undo it's summoning, a huge sacrifice had to be made, leaving this to be the last sentient dinosaur/reptile alive. Imagine that, a dinosaur/reptile protagonist! It may be far-fetched, but I think it'd be a cool concept with interesting gameplay/interactions with other characters.
(Something similar that comes to mind is Javik from Mass Effect 3)

Touching boss fight (if you understand the story). Really like this version of Gwyn's theme: Always gives me nostalgic feelings. This is my favorite version of the Kingdom of Zeal's theme: This (weirdly enough) helped me get through a time when I temporarily had no home: Even though it's kind of a "joke" song, it makes me feel inspired every time

I'm another one hoping for a scientist gadgeteer. We have Johaness as the last alchemist, Miriam as one of the victims to the demonic crystals, but we don't have anything on the scientists. The whole reason why the ritual was done was to stop the scientists from getting more influential, it would be great to have someone from their perspective, as well as so we know what happened to them afterwards. And a strange castle appearing from nowhere deserves being studied for all the new materials and species that it has. Gebel sounds like an interesting character but he is the creator of the castle. It doesn't make much sense that he would need to fight anything. His story could be mixed with Miriam and Johannes'. Pretty sure we'll get to play as Gebel (and Iga) with the Boss Revenge mode. Don't know how that'll play out, but yeah. Hopefully the trio are varied enough to feel fresh all three playthroughs (Unless you can switch between them mid-game or something).

That's a really cool idea elusivevillan . The creature could have some history with the castle and could be trying to rectify it by bring it back to it's original location. It could also open up hilarious scenarios. Something I just came up with: You're fighting a really tough boss, the boss knocks you down to 1hp with a surprise attack, the boss stops before finishing you off and a question mark appears overhead. The boss turns out to be a friendly demon, the 3rd character, apologizes for the misunderstanding (he/she could have mistaken you as Gebel's ally or whoever), heals you, and moves along to finish whatever he set out to do. He could have multiple forms to traverse the castle, maybe even take the forms of some common enemies. The default form could be something like Renon from Castlevania 64

When I saw the Mature Woman option, I just thought of Samus from the Metroid series (not including Other M...) Although she could fall into both the Mature and Badass categories. Zelda could also fall into both (with her Shiek persona).
Mostly I just want the characters to feel very different from each other, and could possibly have different paths for them to go through the castle for story/gameplay reasons. Maybe meet up every now and then. Maybe spar each other to test strengths. Miriam as a boss battle would be pretty cool hehe. As many have stated before, reality may not always meet expectations, but I'm excited to see what they say/hint about the other characters in the future updates.

It'd be awesome to have an older, mature woman as a 3rd character. Maybe she could be the leader of another guild? I don't want to believe that the Alchemist guild is the only group that delved in the unknown. If she is a leader of a guild, that'd be really cool to play as since she could have her own purposes for entering the castle for her (and her group's) benefit. This way it'd be nice to have a "Neutral" character be playable. Neither helping Miriam stop the castle, but at the same time she wouldn't try to help the inhabitants of the castle either. Just there for her own purposes/research/whatever.

I hope there's a few "shielded" enemies. Like in Shovel knight where the shielded knight-looking foes would block most of your attack so you would have to change up your attack patterns. I know they'll probably add more attack patterns for enemies for New Game+ so that'll be exciting to see.
Some undead alchemists would be nice to see as well. Using all kinds of powers like just a straight power blast, flying bouncing energy balls, and/or maybe summons strong demons (and it could maybe be randomized as well. So every time you enter the room, you have no idea what powers that alchemist would use). For new game+, the alchemists could use all of their previous spells, plus a few new ones. Maybe even merge with a summoned demon to heal it + give it extra damage!
On the subject of summoning, maybe there could be necromancers. I don't remember the game, but I'm pretty sure there's quite a few that use the same idea, where enemies (such as skeletons or zombies) continue to spawn until you stop the enemy summoning them. Maybe the "necromancer" doesn't even have to summon anything, but continually boosts the enemies stats in that certain room (and maybe an item could be worn to limit/prevent stat boosting magic such as that). For New Game+ the necromancers could summon stronger enemies, while stat boosting and be able to heal from the damage that his/her/it's monsters does to you.
Speaking of stat boosting, there could be enemies whose sole purpose is to temporarily chip away at your stats for every hitpoint it takes from you (It could last a few seconds or even up to a minute). For that enemy type I can picture something annoying like the fleamen or medusa heads doing that type of work. For this game in particular it could be flying animal parts? (Since most of those demons have some part of an animal) Each different animal part could have varying speeds/damage output. For New Game+ the stats lowering could have a longer effect (like 2 minutes).

Damn I've been wanting to try out the Radiant Dawn and the Path of Radiance games, but they're really expensive to get (I usually see RD around $80+, and PoR at around $130+). Hopefully they can re-release it to be more affordable.

Playing Earthbound for the first time on my new Wii U. Other that, I've recently played Persona Q, Conception 2, Fire Emblem Awakening, Soulcalibur Lost Swords, The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, and more. However, I've been unable to play a whole lot due to boredom and depression. How is FE: Awakening btw? Been thinking of trying it out. The only FE game I finished was Sacred Stones and the 1st game's remake for the SNES.

I loved the subweapon system, but also the soul system. Hopefully when designing the castle and how the candle/heart system plays out, they'll take into consideration the other 2 characters' playstyle. We know Miriam will be a spell/magic user, but maybe one of the other 2 characters may have closer designs to the classic Belmont style (hopefully)!
