Yeah Shax my friend is really into Lurantis, too. She's all like "I like the fact that it isn't a mantis trying to be a plant, it's a plant trying to be a mantis." And yeah, pretty unique. Also I think Rowlet is my favorite of the 3 starters as well. I'm also looking forward to using Lunala, though I dunno how defensive it'll be ahahaha.

I hope he'll yell "DIE MONSTER!" at some point. If not, I'll be mildly disappointed. :p But... he IS the monster in this scenario right? Maybe Miriam does look like a monster to bosses (since she keeps killing them). Ahaha. I suppose that would make sense. She ALSO steals their powers soo....lol

1. If other monsters will be incorporated from previous games, ergo not just Solomon ones.
2. If more extras will come out after the final product and stretch goals are released.
3. If IGA plans to continue with bloodstained, or if another title will ensue. (IE a metroidvania that isn't inspired by his previous work)

So with more and more information on sun and moon coming out, a lot of the newer pokes have been revealed and I think they look PHENOMENAL. Since I tend to run stall in Competitive play, I must say that I have a very large interest in some of the beefier looking pokes, but particularly in Mimikyu, due to its 'Disguise' ability. What are you guys' thoughts? :p ...Ok but seriously, I'm PROBABLY gunna have a party of 6 Exeggutors. >:D

I just recently starting making my own material, even though I'm exceedingly poor at reading music. Though I really only use my keyboard to make melodies; the actual creation is done on a DAW. :)

I thought it was cool in PoR where you could attack a zombie with a fire weapon and have it turn in to a skeleton. Pretty cool because it makes since. Burn all of the zombie's flesh away and all you are left with are the bones! Anyway, PoR's castle was pretty good. Not a fan of reusing the portraits though. Yeah same here. Really cool, yet oddly enough, not something I want re-incorporated into Bloodstained. :p

As a longtime Fire Emblem fan (if my avatar didn't give it away :3) I love having more detailed information about what happens when I level up. Normal: "Level Up" in glorious font Verbose "Level Up" +20 HP, +10 MP, 1 STR, +1 CON ect. I can appreciate the value here. I'm not *entirely* sure about how necessary the Shards though. Seems like that kind of information would be presented to the player when they access their shard menu as opposed to detailed as you get it. Perhaps flesh this out with a little example? Are you suggesting it be a wordier explanation or are you thinking it should give a lore snippet about the shard? Maybe I'm just not being creative about this but a "Normal" vs "Verbose" almost seems like "Boosts CON" "Boosts CON by 4" or "Shoots flame" "Shoots flame in a direction indicated by *insert control here*" EDIT: I support the idea, I'm just wondering how you'd flesh out the Shard descriptions upon receiving them. Plus if it functions like Dawn, (which I'm sure it will) then getting more of a certain kind of soul will boost the power of a soul. Like the Buer for example.

I wasn't asking why people would take advantage of it -- it's obvious that people will exploit whatever is possible to exploit, particularly when competing. What I'm asking is why people would argue that the developers should intentionally allow for it. And people have, repeatedly, claimed that BDC is an Igavania staple, and should be intentionally implemented. The demand is for an intentional combo system that isn't an intentional combo system, and for the game not to be balanced around it. Essentially, people are just begging for a way to cheat that they're familiar with. I'm saying the developers should either prevent it, or implement it in an intentional way that looks good and is explained to the player as intentional mechanics, and balance around it, rather than just turn a blind eye. That's not really necessary. Although more common in fighting games, animation cancels have a pretty strong tradition in Japanese games. It's hard to say where they are and aren't intentional, but making them look good is exactly the opposite of what makes them effective. The whole point is that they cut the assigned animation short in order to execute a new action quicker. Relevant TVTropes Entry
As for preventing it, that's not really possible without adversely affecting normal gameplay. Being able to cancel a backdash to attack is intentional and necessary for responsive gameplay. Being able to cancel an attack in order to backdash is also intentional and necessary for responsive gameplay. Taking advantage of these two features in order to quickly chain attacks together is likely not intentional(because enemies weren't designed around it), but eliminating that exploit will naturally also decrease responsiveness for people playing normally. As someone who doesn't take advantage of exploits, I'd hate for my gameplay experience to be diminished for the sake of a side effect I don't care about. I don't think your gameplay experience would be 'diminished' if something like this was taken out. Unless you happen to be a NEW IGAvania player, and have only played the DS installments that started adding them. Aria of Sorrow, Circle of the Moon, and Harmony of Dissonance didn't have these features incorporated into them, and I think they played just fine. (Aside from the obvious awkward movement that Harmony had ahaha) Unless you plan on speedrunning the $hit out of Bloodstained, I'm sure that your gameplay experience won't be tarnished and you'll still enjoy the game, if that feature DID happen to be cut. :]

I believe he was speaking of the middle easter sand devils, commonly confused with genies. also, baphomet would be correct. Yep, that is correct. Technically speaking an "individual" Jinn is referred to as a Djinni, Jinni, or Genie. I think people just assumed Genies were different and always granted wishes and weren't evil (usually). You know, how they assumed the name of The Creature from "Frankenstein" was just named Frankenstein. Also LeoLeWolferoux , what is that picture? I never seen those before. Oh haha they're 'Djinn' from a turn-based RPG called Golden Sun. As you adventure along you collect different ones and they makes you stronger, change your class, ETC. The Blue ones are Mercury djinn, (Water) the purple ones are Jupiter, (Wind) the red ones are Mars, (Fire) and the brown ones are Venus. (Earth) They also each have different effects. A mars Djinn called 'Scorch', damages enemies and has a chance to paralyze them, (I think) while a Venus Djinn called 'Flower' refreshes everyone and restores party HP and ETC. They're all pretty unique. :p

Another priceless gem. I remember this being one of my first RPG's. It's nice to have it on virtual console, but I wish I could look forward to something more. Unfortunately I don't think that'll be happening. ALSO Arcueid Brunestud if you haven't played Golden Sun, you should try it out. I know you'll like it, especially since you like FFVI. :P

Satyrs? That's a good idea too. But the goatmen that I'm thinking of are something else. They're the type that you see in Diablo and are similar to certain depictions of the Devil. So they have a head of a goat, instead of just some tiny horns on a normal human head. I think you're thinking of Baphomet since that is a depiction of the devil (technically a demon). It appears on "The Devil" tarot card. The Khazra sure are beefy, they almost look like minotaurs with all the muscle they have. Anyways, has a Raiju been suggested? It is a Japanese beast whose body is composed of pure lightning. They can usually take the form of a cat, wolf, a fox, or a weasel. They have different forms though. But, I think it would be a good enemy to have have drop an "elemental" item though or have an elemental soul. If that has been suggested....how about a Jinn? Did somebody say... ...djinn? :D

Yep, I could pretty much see this as only used during Speed Runs. If you don't even see the animations, then you are missing out on a big part of the gameplay. But, if you are bored and want to save half a second here and there, go for it I guess. I doubt I'll ever use any type of animation cancelling because it looks bad. It makes the game look like it is buggy and glitched. Might as well have Miriam wiggle in front of the enemy and have slash marks hit them across the face. AHAHAHA Yaaas. I agree, things like this just don't please me. I LIKE to see animations and things like that. The dev team put them in there for a reason lol.

I don't understand how people can be ok with this, and yet be opposed to an intentionally designed combo system or chain attacks. The ability to exploit the engine like this devalues any depth the rest of the combat mechanics might have, and invalidates much of the claims about the virtues of the simplistic combat system. What does pacing, spacing, striking and retreating, etc. matter when you can just go in and destroy an enemy within seconds by breaking the animations? I can understand complaints that command-inputs or complex attack chains focus too much on dexterity, technical skill, and reflexes, while diminishing the importance of space management and tactical play, but how is this any different? Cancelling is about practicing frame-level timing and button sequences. The main difference is that it's "secret", and not intentionally designed, and therefore unlikely to be well balanced, with complex choices or tradeoffs. It's simply practice the skill for an advantage with no downsides, and ignore the rest of the intentional mechanics that would otherwise have depth, but are rendered useless in comparison. I can only guess that people like the feeling of "cheating the system", or using "advanced techniques" that are counter-intuitive, and therefore unlikely to be discovered by a normal player, giving the elites an edge that they can take pride in. Players look for whatever advantage they can, trying to "beat" the developer. The thing is, it's the developer's job to make something fun and engaging. Their work just seems wasted and unappreciated if people just go and break it. It's like children and cats, preferring to play with the box the toy came in rather than the toy itself. Why bother making or buying toys, if people just want to play with boxes? Because people are special. :p But there's always going to be exploits like this in games like these where close combat is a feature ahaha. People are contrary creatures.

Final Fantasy 6 in the vein of FF4 on the DS/PC. but we'll have to wait until FF 7, 12 and 15 are done for that to happen. I actually want FF6 to be remade like FF1, 2, and 4 on the PSP. Just a complete graphical makeover that has actual effort put into it. FFVI IS arguably one of if not the best Final Fantasy. :p ...unless you're one of those VII fanboys ahaha

I think that IGA should be VERY difficult, as he is the only confirmed optional boss, and I also think that he should have between 2-3 forms, each new one harder than the last. You gotta FIGHT for those ultimate weapon alchemy drops! >:D

I find it strange that people are saying that half the game in Order of Ecclesia is an 'afterthought'? Not the main focus? Most definitely! But an afterthought? Really? Let's face it, Dracula's Castle in Order of Ecclesia was the most boring repetitive castle in the series. Sure it might be different since it requires a parameter to be met before even having access to it, but that isn't grounds for how underwhelming it was.

Kickstarter is nice if you want to get things started or something different. Using KS to fully fund sequels feels dubious to me. If the game is popular enough to warrant a sequel, It will show in revenue. I supposed that you can us KS to supplement a work that is already in progress. Harebrained Schemes did such with Shadowrun Hong Kong. They had the base game in the works but went to KS to get more money to add more stuff. I definitely think that Kickstarter has its pros though. Sure the revenue should suffice enough with the funds necessary to make another, but Kickstarter is a lot more...idk. I feel that with Kickstarter the crowd and the fans are a larger part of it, and it just really brings us together as a community. Without the Bloodstained Kickstarter, I'm sure this forum probably wouldn't even exist, and I wouldn't have been able to meet the great people that I've met on the forum. Plus, some other pros of Kickstarter is that you CAN get more funds to do MORE things with the game, as you stated above. Plus seeing all of the side-goals of the Kickstarter, seeing their progression, things you've 'unlocked', ETC. I find to be a very cool idea. It's sorta like a...we did this, so now THIS feature is guaranteed to be in the finished product. And being able to do cool crap like have your name a part of the credits, or have your doggie be forever memorialized in a painting of the game? Like that's really freaking cool to me. I hope that if IGA has more work in the future, he goes through Kickstarter again. Not likely, but it's something I would personally want. Especially since I was never able to be a part of the Kickstarter for Bloodstained. All I was able to do when I found out was the dumb slacker backer ahaha.
