I tried something new today; watching anime.
It was pleasant, I had fun just watching the story unfold then they let the girl I liked in the serie die, for good. I ragequitted. I don't want to hear the rest of the story, I just don't care at this point. I get too emotional for those things >.> I recommend you never play a certain Final Fantasy game, then.

Speaking of castlevania tributes, does anyone know of or has anyone ever seen someone build the castle from CV1 in terraria? I've seen something similar done in Minecraft once or twice. Wasn't sure if someone had attempted it with Terraria.

This thread is for discussing on how you think this feature will be integrated into the game, or what you would like to see with this system. We know it's a separate mode from the main adventure, but will it be accessed from within the game or from a menu? Will playing inside the dungeons have any story-related elements, or will it be purely for fresh gameplay? Integration. In Bloodborne, they have it so you find "Chalices" in the main game's world to access their version of procedural generated dungeons. You can later find more challenging dungeons by completing the first dungeons. I wonder if this game will take a similar approach, and have it so you find an items that allows you to travel to other Demon Castles, and possibly within those Demon Castles they'll have key items to open up/summon other Demon Castles? Or, will this game take the simpler-user friendly "Select from Main Menu" approach? Lore. Will this feature impact the lore from the main adventure? For Bloodborne, it contained enough lore within to help us understand a little bit more of that universe. I won't speak specifics to avoid spoilers. If this will just be an extra mode, it could maybe not effect the main story at all. Personal Ideas/Wants.Lore items as extras, friendly access, priority on gameplay. I want to see some items and loot that we can't normally get from the main (which is a given), but I also want them to have unique descriptions that helps us learn more from this universe. Assuming this IP continues, it could possibly hint at future time settings or explain why Demon Castles are possible in the first place (assuming, again, that we have to explore another castle in another game). I believe it'll be best to hold off the dungeons up until a certain point in the main game where we gain an item to access it, and then it can be accessed from the menu to have easier saving/loading (Instead of having to load up your save file, going to an area, and then loading again to access the castles). Lastly, since this is the first time Igarashi and his team have ever worked on procedural dungeons of this scale (I believe), I understand if some of what I discussed is not possible to put in within their time frame. I want this to be the best possible experience possible, so I hope they do the best they can make this feature as enjoyable as it can be. Final Thoughts.Igarashi has mentioned how he liked games that motivates people to try playing the game during different time periods. I think the dungeons can best be used to this purpose. For example, near the Halloween season there can be dungeons and enemies with "pumpkin heads" or classic monster costumes with cheesy horror castle themes and limited-time Halloween themed loot (like a Pumpkin sword). For Xmas they can have an "Ice Castle" with snow/ice demons wearing Santa hats. Maybe the boss of that castle can be a demon wanting to overthrow Santa Claus, so it dresses like him..? Any way! That's all I have for my thoughts on this feature, with the info that I had. I apologize if there were any details mentioned that I missed that clarified how they'll implement this system. ((I used Bloodborne as a reference because it is the most recent game to have a main world, while also having this feature.)) What are your thoughts on this? I'm hoping you can access them from the start, though I can see how this could be problematic if they contain lore, as it could spoil some things. For your XMas boss, why not Krampus?
I'd also like to see Pumpkin from C:LoI as an enemy if we're doing holiday themed encounters

Definitely keep it varied. Have some bosses use unique attacks, while some of the just be tanks for possibly earlier areas. Also, unrelated to both ideas, but it'd be cool if we finished off a boss but it came back. For example: We finish off a boss, it "dies", it comes back maybe in the next room, causing us to become nervous but maybe it'll go down in a hit or two (or it just dies off finally on it's own). Or maybe it goes into a second phase.I remember fighting that particular boss in Super Metroid, and although the fight itself wasn't anything special, the fact that it's physically destroyed, it tried to come after us anyway, left me being more cautious of bosses after that, wondering if they would pull something similar.I do a little amateur game design in my free time (nothing published, just word documents and maps in notebooks), but the one I'm working on has a powerful necromancer as a recurring enemy. The game map has a little bit of forced backtracking (there are warp points so it isn't really a pain in the butt) and level design bottlenecks at boss rooms. They aren't always at the end of the area, but most of the bosses are mandatory, so the player winds up in the room during progression, and due to intentional design, passes through a few of them again during backtracking. Boss corpses remain in the rooms, partially because I want players to look at them and feel a sense of accomplishment, and partially because I'm a dirty little trickster. Most necromancers I see in games don't really raise corpses, they actually just kind of summon zombies and skeletons and stuff out of the ground, whether it's plausible for them to be there or not, and you usually don't see the bodies beforehand. Manzazuu, on the other hand, does both. When you enter a certain boss room, Manzazuu appears, rezzes the boss and quickexits stage left, leaving the player locked in a room with this giant, rotting, vengeful creature. I think it's hilarious, and if it ever gets published, hopefully players will too.

First and foremost, the Puppet Master is a pain to take on solo. I enjoyed how he moved about the stage, but felt that he was a little one note...I don't mind losing to a boss with a complex pattern if it means I learn just what it takes to take them down a notch. I'm eager to see just what IGA brings to Bloodstained...the unique and varied locales of the castle can always lend a fun element to boss battle. Fighting Frankenstein's Monster in the Alchemy Lab? Force him into the vat of acid you had to jump over earlier and watch as it peels off a quarter of his health! I don't mind straight up damage races as long as they're memorable though! I hated him in CV:HD, but didn't mind him much when I first fought him in DoS.

Sorta off topic but Nightmare fornplauable character? You charge me fifty bucks for that ONE piece of dlc... sold. Without question or hesitation. Its been a very long time since my days wrecking with that character. I miss soul caliber so much. Well, if you honestly don't mind paying for character DLC...there's always Soul Calibur: Lost Swords. In any case, and back on-topic, here's a real nightmarish demon based on one from the Lesser Key of Solomon. Marquis of Hell, Aamon (at least...as he appears in Cardfight! Vanguard) Larger version:

I like the flower image for the stickies. Maybe hot stickies could turn into stained glass flowers instead? Like the sticky ones, only with stained glass? Yeah I could do that. Does anyone want to keep the flame cross over a stained glass rose? I like the cross Doesn't matter that much to me, though.

Ever play Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil Nemesis? I couldn't play Resident Evil 3: Nemesis when I was a kid, because Nemesis always scared the crap out of me. I've beaten it now though. I still remember how I felt when he started "breaking the rules". It was wonderful and horrifying. Also, remember the scene with the helicopter? Outta nowhere!

I remember something like that in Metroid: Fusion. The SA-X would chase you from room to room until you successfully were able to hide. I remember my first encounter with it was terrifying. If they do implement something like that, they would have to put a convenient save point and also get rid of the smaller enemies in those specific rooms temporarily. I personally liked that feature from Metroid: Fusion. Changed up game pace by a lot, and by the end of the game you actually felt stronger and had a way to measure it (against the SA-X's own power). I think you mean something a bit less powerful though? Maybe a squadron of demons who break up game pace, provide a challenge, and also keep us on our toes? Ever play Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil Nemesis?

What the hell? My Nightmare image got scaled down, as did Galamoth's Lizardman, but the archer and Astaroth are still full size. EDIT: Here's a link to a larger version, Enjoy! Also, here's a link to a larger version of that picture of Lizardman. From what I can see, we both linked to the same site, so the change probably occurred on that end, not over here on the forums.

I don't know how many of you fine folks here have ever played any of the games in the X series (Megaman)... But here's a glitch in Megaman X5 which happens to be a favorite of mine...if only due to funny memories. ( Zero, the character shown in this video, is normally not meant to be able to access these areas where Upgrade Capsules for X, the title-character, are located) (At 1:41) ....wellllllll, crap. I....okay. This is my life now.

Alright then, seems like everybody here so far is in, so let's do a quick check of things: - Who can host? Need a good upload speed, download speed and lots of RAM. Preferably someone who leaves their computer on all the time. - Normal or Hard? Hard mode basically makes the enemies have 2x health and 2x damage, have better chances to loot rare items, and some loots only appear there. A challenge might be fun! - No cheating! Let's be fair to all and actually play the game as an exploration RPG. I know collecting materials can be a pain when you just want to build things (big), but don't just build either.Anything else? There's a bit of a difference between editing in some rare blocks to make a room look just right and editing in godly gear to 1-hit monsters with. It's an important distinction. Also, if someone just wants to build... what's wrong with that?

I can only blame myself, I know... orz I'll uh... take it if you decide you don't want it...anymore. <.< >.> <.< Please don't tell my laptop I said that.

I also like to point out that videogame men are often pretty hunky too, with like 18 packs and muscles thicker than my neck. Men being large and muscular arent meant to be sexually appealing for women, they are meant to be Power Fantasies for men who play as them. Characters like Kratos from God of War, and Batman from the Arkham games, are meant to make the men who play the games feel powerful and unstoppable. Women, for the most part, want nothing to do with men as large and brutal as they are. And yet some people find the "beefcake" men in games sexually attractive...... don't they, Ixbran? ;P
