I beat Strider (2014) a day ago, and it was awesome. Being a big fan of metroidvania genre, I wishlisted this game almost immediately after getting a Steam account. I've heard that people were having problems with repeated crashes, frame-rate drops and some confusing level design, but on my playthrough of Strider I didn't notice any of that stuff, well, maybe some FPS drops, but I can't call game a bad one just because of that. It was refreshing, yet familiar experience. I haven't played a whole lot of previous Strider games, but in this one I felt right at home. Graphics were stunning, ambient sounds and music that played occasionally were giving me right feel at the right time - there was some perfect sound both for action and for atmosphere. Controls were solid, if a little too complicated, but once I got used to them, everything became just right. Kazakh City was decently big and really fun to explore with rich variety of zones, though, some areas like Underground were a bitch to get to. I was aiming to collect every collectible besides large green containers (they're nothing but a health refill item anyway) and this led to some frustration, because some of the little Strider icons, which give you costumes, were really challenging to collect. Other than those, I loved collecting all the items, but I missed a few optional icons with concept art, which isn't a big deal. The core gameplay of Strider was fun and addictive, I spent hours just running around, killing bad guys in style and jumping on the rooftops like madman. Bosses were memorable and very challenging, except for Gravitrons (I was seriously just sitting in one spot and throwing exploding kunai at them until they broke). Final stage was epic and fight with Grandmaster Meio felt like complete joke after such a hard stage. Still, I enjoyed it and the victory was pretty sweet. The game was constantly throwing new stuff, enemies and objectives at me, helping to learn new tactics and kept me entertained until the very end. My knowledge of Russian language brought a smile to my face a few times, tho. Nobody in their right mind is ever going to name a freaking tank "Sovkhoz", lol. I feel like Bloodstained will blow my mind once it gets released, since it's going to be even bigger and even better!

I'd love to have an ability to perform mind-control over people, even for a short time period. As a child, I was fascinated by hypnosis and things like that. I have to admit, at some point I would've used it to do evil stuff, though.

I love the thought of the amiibo BUT I knew someone would come up with this argument... and it is a very valid argument. Again the only thing I really wanted was a cheap figure to collect... it was never about unlockable content. Well, if Armature and IGA figure out how to make Wii U port compatible with amiibo the way that satisfies backers, I have nothing against it. In one of the updates they mentioned "giant Bloodstained merchandise collection", and we can only guess what kind of merchandise awaits.

While having any kind of figurine would be sweet, I don't think that unlockable Wii U exclusive content is fair for people who backed the game, but opted for different platform. I'd prefer a figurine or a nendoroid by GSC, or any other action figure, so every Bloodstained fan can buy it for themselves.

I'd like to take a room that has something like The Lost Portrait playing in it. Doesn't matter which specific one.

So, about that back dash stuff. Of course, it's up to IGA whether it remains unchanged or gets reworked, but I honestly don't see why it can be considered "broken". To really take advantage of it, you have to think how you use it and be experienced with it. I'm not very skilled player, and when I try to do such things as back-dash-cancelling in SotN, I often back dash into enemy, trap, or off a ledge. Not many people are as hardcore, and usually play just for fun, not thinking of few seconds gained by mashing back dash button instead of walking or reaching goodies early by doing quadruple jump with tight time window. Fast back dash can be actually useful for casual player to dodge massive boss attacks or to escape from room full of high-level enemies where just walking to exit or trying to kill them would result in game over. Having faster form of movement also helps to ease boredom a little while backtracking during your effort to obtain 100% (or 200,6%, or 1000%) completion. If you ask my opinion, I don't have any problems with either form of back dash, but having some "bullshit physics" to play with adds to overall fun.

I love blue colors too, like Clear does. My initial username, which I used to register my e-mail account, was Konpeki Azune (it sounded cooler with "n" to me, "konpeki" is google translation for azure), but since nobody would care to remember something this long, I decided to shorten first part, making it K. Azune.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is an action game, that is based on history. Being based on history, stages also based on events which took actually took place in 1700s Europe. So here's this giant enemy mermaid...

Goobsausage I think cannon is an undestroyable environmental hazard like floating skulls in SotN and such.

During Microsoft's Xbox E3 2016 press conference the director of ID@Xbox, Chris Charla, introduced a montage showcasing indie games coming soon to Xbox One. Bloodstained made an appearance. Here are the screenshots of Miriam fighting Seama, lesser demon from previous update and cannon firing. Action takes place on Galleon Minerva. C.png (1.47 MB) S.png (1.43 MB) UPDATE: Here's a link to the montage right at the moment of Bloodstained's appearance:And the video itself:

Pitch Black Intrusion is amazing, it became my favorite instantly. Its sound picks up gradually, and represents winter and dawn in the area perfectly.

Togposh , they already answered that question. E3 DEMO: Coming this month. Everybody backing at $60+ will get the demo, which will be coming out over Steam. So if you backed for a PS4 copy, a Wii U copy, a PC copy on either Steam or GOG—anything—you will get the demo, but it's only being distributing over Steam and it will only run on Windows. DEMO+SURVEY: We're sending the demo to everybody who pledged at $60+ and filled out their survey by June 13. So you have until then to back—if you haven't already—or fill out your survey, if you haven't done that. If you have filled out your survey, you're golden! Enjoy the demo. Hope that clarifies things a little!
