why does everyone act like the shop should be useless...? in all the games other than sotn, they were the best place to stock up on healing items,
all of the games offered competing weapons, armor, and skills that were decently matched to the players current progression,
dos offered all the starter weapons so you can upgrade them with yoko,
por offered a lot of skills, and some decent gear,
ooe was very good as you did quests to get better things in the shop, balancing it so there were never enough potions/equipment to handle the vania lifestyle without finding gear in the environment, but wasn't overkill on being a weak shop.
sotn offered competing stat weapons at the time the player reaches the library, as well as decent gear, throwing weapons, and spell cheatsheets.
I hope my analysis sways you a bit or helps in some way.

TL DR everything above this post, but I have a feeling this may be positive. instead of having potions food etc grant an instant health increase, it could be given over a number of seconds. if anyone has played salt and sanctuary or DS2 lifegems, you know what im talking about.

now hold on a minute, you can still move without a skeleton. the catch is that to have any sort of rigidity, you need to harden all the muscles of a limb.
granted, though your aura is so bright it makes everything within 5 feet too bright to see.
I wish the next person can come up with a meaningful wish

see, there is a prolem with that jeff. what demographic plays mobile games? idiots. the young, the stupid, and the elderly. the first group of which is constantly refilled with new people.
the mobile market IS full, but that clearly isn't a problem, because the top or most convenient games will prevail anyway. as long as they produce a product someone will play, they are good to go, because mobile games are much more inexpensive to produce.

the castle needs to be slightly modified per character anyway. I just say that alternate characters have different starting points, and follow a different path through the castle to get their relics. we should expect different characters will have different strengths and weaknesses, there fore different playstyles. each different character would then be a bloodstained remix, per se.

I believe I made a thread about it already, but there IS still a way to counter this and bring back console titles for the franchises we love. any inde dev that shows success in the genre can create a prototype and pitch it to konami,
under this agreement:
konami provides none of the funding, and only handles basic legal and publishing fees, however the outsourced dev gets a percentage of the final sales. the dev may also be able to fund his own campaign, but he may not sell copies this way.

just putting it out there for the reference of others, this is how crafting and merchants are planned to work in my project, APART.
#1:crafting. the player has a crafting level, which will increase as they get certain books scattered in the world.
the player can go to any save spot and craft anything they can at their current level. additionally they can visit a smith or an alchemist to craft things higher than their current level.
crafting items can be found throughout the world and from enemies, a travelling merchant will at random appear in each area, selling area specific stuff.
normal shops that stay in place will sell more items after completing quests for the shopkeep.
so, theres a little bit of everything in here. yes, a lot of crafting items can be sold, as well as a lot of gear, but money will be much more difficult to come by.

I could roll with a demon as the shop keep. I mean, gluttony and greed are all a part of the key of Solomon, with demons being symbolic of different sins, but also holding great power for the summoner.

kaius means that you still only explore the castle. say, what if you explored the forest outside the chapel? yes, the outside world is shown, but even if there was a free area it had a brick ceiling. someone get the man who put a ceiling on the clocktower and slap him. I felt similarly with POR, but we got paintings to counter that. it is never explained whether the castles demons attack the outside world, because they are always more worried about defending the castle.
EDIT many of the areas from ooe just tacked onto the side of the castle would have done the trick.
