What he's saying there is, someone like us (a Steam user) put the co-op tag there instead of 505 or ArtPlay. This kind of blows up the idea that it's evidence the mode is gone. If it's still in official descriptions like the one you posted, then that's not really indicative of anything bad about it other than it just not being in the game yet.
I get that many feel like the wait is too long, but let's not jump to conclusions or say things before we know they're true. I myself have no reason to believe that anything has been changed yet besides what's announced.

I hadn't heard a peep from the Discord server so I checked in to see this. I've never liked the concept behind Rogue-likes so this doesn't bother me. The only other mode I even care about is online co-op. So much so that I'm willing to re-buy the game on Steam or PS4 for myself and a copy for a friend whenever there's a steep discount or sale, just to be able to enjoy this kind of game with a friend. I'm really hoping that online co-op is a top priority. Yea, i gifted a few copies of this game thinking i'd eventually be able to play with friends so will feel very cheated if it doesn't happen

Bloodstained is lucky that I love collecting junk and leveling up stats so much....which is something Hollow Knight does not offer. This, and the general easy to play relaxing nature of Igavanias, are sadly why I can't get into other Metroidvanias much at all. They're similar, but just don't scratch that same itch Igavanias do. Especially with the whole Soulsish trend of being focused on being challenging and/or even punishing. A lot of people love them but it's not what I go to games for, and it feels like Souls's popularity has left me starved for content. You took the words right out of my mouth; I find Iga games relaxing and unfortunately many Metroidvania games focus on challenge. I recently tried Guacamelee and while the bulk of the game is alright, getting the "good" ending is (in my opinion) unreasonably difficult. Fortunately there is a new Shantae game coming out next month which I'm looking forward to but even Wayforward are hit-or-miss with their sudden difficulty spikes; beach mode in Half Genie Hero was particularly infuriating.

I agree with this to a maximum. There are pretty great looking metroidvanias out there, but they don't give me that wonderful experince that Iga's games give. Hollow Knight in particular was a good time and I will pick up Silksong, but to be honest, after I beat it I have not picked it even once since. Igavania has ruined, for the most part, spoiled me on metroidvania. lovelydumpling OH MY GOSH, THANK. YOU. I am so sick of this whole soulsesque trend going around; from skull-caving difficulty, to the samey depressing atmosphere, to the "do a lot with very little, die and retry" combat. I'm just tired of seeing it everywhere nowadays, it's the fps of indie games.

On the subject of Kickstarters in earlier pages of the thread, I have fully come to understand how fickle this kind of stuff is.
Bloodstained had a shaky but not troubling development cycle with a this recent roguelike idea on the chopping block. But the game itself wonderfully great, even my switch copy was fun to play through.
In constrast, Lab Zero's game Indivisible had a MUCH smoother journey to release along with a demo at the start of the funding to get you interested, but when it released, it was an entertaining but shallow game at best and mediocre game at worst.
Odd how that works...
