While I’m extremely disappointed that the Switch version came out in such a sorry state, I’m also extremely grateful and relieved to hear that it will be improved and won’t be abandoned. Especially in regards to the input delay which is the number one problem I personally have with the current version of the game. Thanks for working hard to correct this mistake! I appreciate it.

I've yet to get my hands on the game, as it is (waiting for delivery, maybe later today). Weighing both sides of the coin that this Switch release is called (pro and con), I can still say that I'm looking forward to sitting down and playing it.
That, and I'm looking for a new game to play anyway

My copy arrives tomorrow, I think I'll play a little to test it out and then play through the GBA castlevania games as I wait for these patches. I do wish the release would have been delayed so that all these patches would be on the cartridge but this is far better than no fix at all.
I'm still greatly looking forward to playing the game and am thankful it exists at all!

You need to give out codes to other systems version of this to the switch backers. You are trying to skate by doing the bare minimum on rectifying this rather then going above and beyond. As its stands those that got the switch version were not given a game that has value parity with the PS4 of XBOX.
You also need to bring in a studio that actually knows what they are doing with the switch hardware. This game should have been able to do 60fps at 720p. And the blurry textures, what the hell is that even about, how did that pass any QA dept. You gt no KUDOS for trying to fix what should have never been this broken to begin with. This should have never shipped in this state. And now switch backers have to wait what will be MONTHS for a playable game anyway. Why did you just not delay it till it was actually ready.
The frame drops, Input lag all but makes sure this game in unplayable on nightmare mode for switch as you wont be able to do any combos against the zangetsu boss fight. And the constant crashing out of nowhere.
The horribleness of the people on the BLOODSTAINED discord server that mock people complaining about the switch version is also enough to have me fed up with this project and its community and IGA.

Im going to be filing a complaint with the FTC and the AG of Florida now. I gave 505 a chance. But the disparity of what the switch version is vs the PS4 version is big enough for me to call it fraud. Them refusing to swap my DLC over to the PS4 was the last straw. They should be bending over backwards to satisfy the screwed over backers.

Releasing ASAP versus delaying has been a constant debate. A year ago, backers were angry that if the game was essentially done (in terms of design and assets), but there were just some rough edges to iron out, then JUST RELEASE IT! So that we've have something to play with and get it fixed as we move along.
Then there was the other side that preferred it being delayed so that our experience would not be diminished.
Problem is how to judge this. It's completely subjective. When is it good enough to send out? Who decides what the criteria is?
Then always keep in mind that there are bugs that get missed and many times gets easily discovered by the end user. They think no kind of QA went into the game because they found the bug, but in reality it's not that simple.

Would also like to request if it’s possible to switch my code to another system while the Switch version is fixed. Greatly looking forward to playing on the go once everything’s been fixed but I’ve had it crash on me as well. Have 2 unused Switch codes I’d love to trade for Xbox codes if possible. Thanks for all your hard work fixing the Switch!!

I love this game - absolutely adore it but... I’d really appreciate it if us Switch backers at least got some mention in the credits. A lot of us got a raw deal and ended up having to double dip on a functional platform. $60 digital Switch backer here, though that’s gone up to $110 after splurging on the timelier and more functional PS4 release. I was too late to change platforms for Curse of the Moon too, so I double dipped on that as well. I haven’t even seen the IGA fight nor the sword whip yet and it was kinda heartbreaking to find out I wouldn’t be able to find my name in the credits ($100+ backers only) despite my patience and continued support of the series. It almost feels like a deliberate move to increase sales across platforms: the double-whammy of a delay and a barely functional port. Who wouldn’t want to play their Igavania on-the-go? Especially after Curse of the Moon was such a hit on Switch. I feel it casts a bad shade over IGA’s “prove them wrong” mentality and commitment to excellence. I’m glad it’s being fixed - but we (Switch backers) got did dirty, so why not sweeten the deal?

I really hope you plan on increasing texture and the resolution. I wasn’t a backer because it was closed by the time I found out about the game but I had preordered after I saw it for the first time on Nintendo Direct and it’s really ridiculous that the game looks so horrible after reading you had a 5 million dollar budget?!!! What did you do with the money because it certainly didn’t go towards this horrible switch version. Please fix the frame rate and update these disgusting low res textures. How is it games like Doom which have so much more of a graphical engine run fine on the switch?!!
We who pre-ordered this horrible unplayable version of the game and the backers should get a copy of another console version for free, whether it’s the PC or PS4 or Xbox one version. It doesn’t even have to be physical, just a digital code.
Instead all you say as a company who got a fairly large budget is “we are sorry for the inconvenience and are moving our sources to the switch” and then proceed to list fixes that are important, but don’t even mention textures or the overall muddy look. Shame on you.

The official trailer that was shown for Bloodstained on the Nintendo Switch gave me faith in this products quality and it was why I purchased it. I appreciate the feedback and look forward to updates but I really hope the textures of the characters can look as advertised in this trailer, otherwise this is false advertising.

Bought the PC version instead gave up the wait. Rather play it on low setting than Switch. Hate wasting my weekend waiting for the update which probably will take weeks to finish.

QuestionA question out of curiosity, shouldn't you guys just ask a more experienced team like Panic Button for some support? Maybe some people from Ubisoft could even provide some clues.. (I had Starlink in mind, a game which gameplay quality lies totally on par with PS4 and XBO)

I'm looking forward to playing the Switch version of this game when it's finished.
Shame it was released on Switch before the port was finished.
Providing the load times on transition screens are reduced substantially enough, I'll probably be happy.
I agree with other forum users that, as a 2.5D game, this shouldn't be too much of a stretch on Switch.
I mean:
Skyrim Wolfenstein Doom Hellblade Breath of the Wild Super Smash Bros Witcher 3 Etc
You can do it.

Any chance to improve resolution? This game should run in 1080p with no performance problems. Nope. Not even Nintendo can manage that, nor did Epic with Fortnite. Oh, come on. There are a lot of great games that can run smoothly with full resolution, and with better graphics.

I can't even beat the first boss because of input lag...
1. Fix input lag - must have 2. Fix resolution - Order of ecclesia looks better on my 2ds xl. Things became more sad after connected to dock. 3. Overall graphics bugs - not critical

I know, you have problems because of Unreal Engine and its compability with Switch, but, graphics on Switch looks terrible in comparison to PS4. As someone mentioned before: 1. MK 11 2. Doom 3. BoTW 4. Wolfenstein 5. Skyrim 6. Warframe 7. Paladins

When I backed the game I chose GOG (digital) and Switch physical. I chose Switch over the PS4 for portability fully knowing it would have less resolution and fps. But the port is attrocious. I haven't been able to buy a decent computer to run my GOG version. My keys are unredeemed and fangamer has already refused to swap them for the PS4 ones. So I'm left without the game or playing it broken as it is. This pushing back the Switch release feels like some sort of pathetic damage control. I feel like being lied to. The very least they could do is let us change platform or even give us a discount.

Nope. Not even Nintendo can manage that, nor did Epic with Fortnite. Oh, come on. There are a lot of great games that can run smoothly with full resolution, and with better graphics. The only UE4 game that has 1080p is Octopath Traveler which is strictly voxel(or more precisely pixel with width). Any other UE4 game failed to achieve 1080p. Other games are not made with the same engine.
