With the drama of MN9 mostly ended already, and they even gives out a solid release date, which they promised will not be getting delayed again I will say give it a shot if you are on Steam, and you can refund it if you don't like the game So, with that in mind, I will buy and try it BUT if the game got delayed again, it will be practically a game over of MN9 and I will not even bother on MN9 again, will not even look at the news on MN9 if it got delayed again by June 21st

The problem is asking Inafune and company to release when they feel it's premature is like asking someone to pinch a turd when it's constipated. It's something that can't be rushed and only results in a stinkier mess for everyone. Just let it slide naturally. Maybe we should send some doughnuts to the MN9 team as some laxitive motivation. I mean if I am jogging my butt off I would prefer a cup of water to keep me going than disgruntled fans. If the game was receiving a bad outlook before the game came out, then it's probably a good thing it's being taken back to the drawing board, even if it happens on the next date drop at least the effort is being made.

Well, I hope you have read the post made by Vampire on this thread, where he tell the whole story drama of MN9 first delay is because it's a deal with the publisher, which is deep silver, to put the physical version of the game on store shelves second delay is due to multiplayer online issues of the game third delay is the exact same excuse of the second delay, which people are already pissed off where the multiplayer can be patched later (multiplayer now seems to be a very touchy subject now, where it's like a must) and with that in mind, I don't think people can handle anymore delay, including me and all of this delays are announced like 2 or 3 weeks before the release So yeah

^ Yeah, like the podcast was discussing, in many ways we can all learn from MN9. It was one of the pioneers in this area... And yeah, Vampire, I wouldn't be too worried about them still working on just Miriam. I think they've mostly been done with her design for a few months now and have been doing a lot that we have not seen, which is for the best imo. My preferred update style would be bite size excerpts and teasers rather than "hey y'all this is everything we've done up to this point", with a buildup leading to a bigger piece at something like E3 and TGS. The shaders were done in January and only needed our input to decide which one to choose, so I doubt they're still doing anything on that front either - more just working out the aesthetics of the game to fit that style with the stage design. I pretty much feel just like blankslatenator,

I like the way you think; poop puns and positive reinforcement. It's better to fart onto a lighter's flame and accidentally set one's ass on fire than blame someone else for farting in the darkness. The MN9 delays are annoying, but they haven't really been that big of a dealbreaker for me. My gaming habits have changed in the past few years. I'm rarely playing games at launch now, there's a big backlog of old games from the previous console generation (360/PS3/Wii) I'm playing through, and I make most of my purchases during sales. I've also noticed I became more understanding and forgiving towards developers and publishers when it comes to their shortcomings than I was five years ago after learning more about how game development and the business worlds work.

I preordered MN9 1 year ago and I still feel it's fine with more delays. 2016 is a good year with so many expansive game that I would rather more kickstarter games come out 2017. It seems like a dry year with short chaptered games, so indie projects will be more appreciated. Bloodstaine d would be a real gem to have around Q3 or 4 with MN9 in 1 or 2. I have a strong feeling MN9 will get delayed again just based on the current market, so I am prepared.

I believe Mighty No 9 will be at the very least an okay game, but everything else about it is basically 'how not to handle a kickstarter project.' I'm still gonna buy and play it (maybe on release day) but maaaan the magic's gone y'know?

I kind of anticipated this, especially after months of negative comments on the game in my Twitter. I didn't think my hype could go any lower, but it did.
I picked the 3DS version so I don't even know when I'll get my copy. All I know is that my expectations are rock bottom now. I didn't play the demo due to my laptop being crap (and not having a PC controller) so I have no idea if I'll like the gameplay.
But I'll be okay. I may be out $60, but I've bought games I ended up not liking before (Paper Mario Sticker Star and Shovel Knight being the most notable examples. Yes, I did not like Shovel Knight very much). Once all the post-release drama blows over, I can put this mess behind me.

...;_;... /me hugs Goobsausage and Mighty No. 9 Backers in general I kind of saw this coming for a while but didn't want to admit it on the off chance that I was wrong. Seems I wasn't and that is sad indeed... well at least we still have Bloodstained to look forward to.

I've heard the game is pretty meh. I mean, looking at the glass half-full here, at least it isn't TERRIBLE, and that's a good thing, right? I mean, the game is there, it is playable, and it is at least fun here and there.
With all due respect, with the development hell it went trough, did anyone really expect the game to be 100% GREAT?

Yes, unfortunately it had a near insurmountable hill to climb with the negative stigma surrounding it. Everything is stacked against this game at this point from all angles.
I'm a backer myself, so I'm still going to give it a shot, but...yeah, not all too very excited myself. Of course my current condition has me not feeling like enjoying much of anything honestly. Heh, if something huge came out for Bloodstained right now (more like...anything at all), I'd put off even looking at it until I feel good. I want the best possible vibes in me when I even see that game's assets.

My opinion overall changed since yesterday. Before I thought it was a solid game, but the more I look into it, the more I don't think I can justify buying it. The reviews don't help either.
I think before we start trying to objectively analyze this and say "the game isn't an abomination", we should remember that it was funded through a kickstarter to try and build a dream. Of course we should take into consideration our own expectations when judging something, but I don't think it met the minimal of expectations from the backers. This wasn't a kickstarter for a no name developer, there were names attached to this one, a reputation was there to alleviate concerns, and what the final product is, was not representative of that reputation.
Bloodstained is in a similar position. Iga is staking his reputation on this game, and if it isn't at least a memorable experience, then it will probably be deemed a failure, and it is in that case that Mighty No. 9 is a failure. That said, the backers so far, and even those who are not backers, are happy with what we've seen of Bloodstained so far, it looks promising, but we shouldn't forget that Bloodstained isn't any further away from this set position just because of some promising updates.
I don't mean for us to take a pessimistic view on everything. MN9 is just a heavy reminder that we're dealing with promises from people we don't know anything about, and kickstarter is no guarantee of satisfaction. On the contrary there have been great successes from kickstarter specifically, most notably that I can think of are Shovel Knight and Undertale, which were both big hits and justifiably so. I hope, and predict, that Bloodstained will stride along with Shovel Knight and Undertale, but I will also keep my optimism in check with just a little bit of doubt.

By my estimation, MN9 is a 'play through once, don't bother playing again' experience at best. Imo, the 'dash through' mechanic doesn't look fun, and it actually reminds me of one of my issues with Gunvolt. In Gunvolt you had to abruptly stop to fight enemies with the tag-n-zap combat system, which really got on my nerves since it was such a departure from the more fast-paced Mega Man Zero games. MN9's dashing mechanic seems generally faster, but still bugs me.
Funnily enough, Ray's gameplay looks like it might be generally enjoyable. (And the Ray trailer was fairly decent, nothing like Deep Silver's disaster.) Still have no plans to get the game, I'll probably have much more fun with Tokyo Mirage Session this Friday.
How amusing to think that I was initially bummed to know that I didn't have enough spare money to pledge anything to the game, and now I'm relieved that no penny of mine went to this.
Bloodstained demo > complete Mighty No. 9 game.
