I've been thinking about Miriam's curse, and the way it manifests is very similar to how cancer spreads. This gave me the idea that maybe there could be a DLC costume or something to raise money for cancer research. My grandfather on my mom's side of the family passed away when I was a senior in high school from an extremely rare form of brain cancer, and my father figure passed away in 2015 from liver and bladder cancer. Perhaps the costume could be an alternate version of the "pure" Miriam that we unlocked during the Kickstarter. When using this costume, there could be a special cutscene thanking the player for choosing to make a difference.

Also, one of my biggest pet peeves in gaming, and tech in general, is updates that don't add anything to the product in question. For example, whenever they say, "various fixes" in a changelog and nothing else, I begrudgingly download the update just to have the latest version. It always leaves a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. Having a staggered release like Shovel Knight, Freedom Planet, or Splatoon fixes this by adding new content with each update.

I'm all for releasing the main game first and adding features as updates. Two of my favorite games from recent memory, Shovel Knight and Freedom Planet, have done this, and I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that more content was on the way for free. I hadn't heard of these games before release, so I had no idea that extra content was coming.

As you already know from my username, I'm legally blind, so accessibility is really important to me. If a game moves too quickly or lacks contrast in the graphics, it's almost completely unplayable. Fore example, I had a blast with Order of Ecclesia up until I got to the skeleton boss in the prison area. I could see my character just fine throughout the rest of the game, but with that boss, the game puts a spotlight on Shanoa that also affects the contrast level around her. This made it so I couldn't tell where Shanoa was exactly, which proved disastrous for my attempts to beat the boss. I had to cheat to beat him, but the cheats ended up corrupting my save, so I had to start all over again. Please put in some kind of feature to make Miriam more visible in areas with low contrast. Those areas are great for atmosphere, but terrible for accessibility.

My favorite movie, by far, is Paper Clips. It's about a middle school in Tennessee where the students began to collect paper clips to represent the people killed in the Holocaust. When journalists from Germany were told about the project, they went to the school to learn more about it. Then the project spread like wildfire, being featured in The Washington Post and on NBC's Nightly News. The best part is that this actually happened. Here's the trailer.

Outtakes: Pressing a certain button combination, like Down and Attack, triggers an outtake where one of the actors flubs their lines, or just says something funny. 486 Mode: Changes the graphics and sound to feel like a game that ran on a computer with an Intel 486 processor.

Perhaps spells could have a cooldown period before you can use them again, like in Xenoblade Chronicles. This would keep players from spamming them if the quick item use includes items that restore a lot of MP.
As for menus in general, I recommend checking out this video from William Strife for some examples of how various games handle their menus and how these choices affected gameplay.

I understand why some of you don't want this mechanic, but that's why I think it should be optional. That way, it would appeal to both people who like to take their time with games and people who enjoy having to manage their time wisely. Here's a video that shows some games that handle the mechanic well.

Well, we'll still most likely have to farm for money. Perhaps simply defeating enemies could slowly lower the gauge without the need for them to drop items. As for how to select this gameplay style, there could be a menu that appears upon starting a new game that asks whether you prefer to go at your own pace or if you want to feel a greater sense of urgency in the story.

Since Miriam has the same curse as Gebel, why not implement a time management mechanic to create a sense of urgency? Now, this would be something for the inevitable Hard Mode you unlock after beating the game once. Perhaps there could be a "Curse Meter" that slowly fills as time goes on. Defeating bosses and otherwise advancing the story would reduce the Curse Meter. There could also be items dropped by normal enemies that do the same thing, but to a lesser extent. What are your thoughts on this?

As a history buff, I find this really interesting. It is a first-person shooter set during the American Civil War. The only thing that bothers me is that the developers may be taking realism a little too far by including accurate reload times.

Don't forget that it takes seventy-five percent approval from the Screen Actors Guild to start a strike. To put that in perspective, it takes sixty percent for the United States Senate to defeat a filibuster, and seventy-five percent of Congress in general to approve a constitutional amendment and send it to the states for ratification. Unless there is widespread support from film and TV actors, the strike isn't very likely to happen.

Is it possible to safely transfer the Magi-crystal curse from one person to another, and if so, would Miriam allow someone to purify her? Posing this question to the player might make a good means for unlocking the "pure" costume for Miram.

Apologies for not responding sooner. I was exhausted when I got back home from vacation, and it takes me longer to get my energy back. As soon as we have LuckPercentSRL's character sheet. I'll start the main thread. Now, I've thought of a slight modification for the stat system. For the stats where you roll a d6, you can roll the dice first, then decide which roll goes with each stat for personalization, instead of the first roll always representing strength. As for stat bonuses, each main stat goes up by one when you level up. Additionally, you can roll a d6, then add the number of your roll to one stat for further customization of your character, sort of like in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

Good idea, Brent! Also, my apologies for not being more active. My mom's been busy with her doctoral dissertation, I'm also going to be away on vacation for about ten days starting tomorrow, so I won't be able to reply. I'll have my smart phone on me, but a touchscreen keyboard isn't very good for roleplay posts.

Here's how I think the EXP system will work. Monsters will have various EXP values attached to them, but interacting with other characters will also grant EXP, as will exploring the castle.
Now, regarding HP. Don't worry about having to make a new character if your current one runs out of HP. If that happens, your character is simply knocked unconscious until the end of the encounter. Once the battle ends, your character regains consciousness with half of his or her maximum HP.
Next, I'll explain the magic system. Everyone can start off with a basic spell, like healing minor wounds or a basic magic attack, like shooting fireballs or generic magic projectiles. As you level up your character, he or she can learn enhanced versions of the spells he or she already knows, or learn a new spell.
One more thing. Regarding characters who have the magi-crystal curse. Should we have some way to indicate how the curse is progressing? Also, should characters who don't already have the curse be able to become afflicted with it during the RP? If we have characters that can curse others, they will have to get permission from the person playing the victim. Speaking of which, Chuckles, you have my permission for Gebel to curse Ryan if you want him to have that ability.

I don't plan on having weapon types affect things. I don't want this to get any more complex than it needs to be.
