Maybe it's just a carrot on a stick but I like free games. I'll probably only use the store for the free games they're handing out for their first year. Yeah, but free games shouldn't be incentive to risk your personal information and security. right. I overlooked that detail.let's hope then that this is something Epic learns from then.

Another tidbit on this, apparently since the Switch consoles were locked in a cabinet for security, they were overheating and at risk for failure. We're fortunate one didn't just outright blow at the event with Bloodstained getting blamed for it. I hope the negative press attention for it doesn't cause any problem waves, since apparently hardware was a concern. I would've loved a joke article about Bloodstained being a cover to create our new AI overlord, Gebel. He was meant for greatness. How dare we lock him in a box?

It's an interesting thing indeed. I love casually looking into statistics and those numbers are actually a bit higher than what I've seen across my dozens of PS4 games. Games that have a trophy granted within minutes of starting the game tend to have low 90s for the player base. Games with a strong story tend to have a sudden drop in achievement rate once the intro bit is done and first impressions are out of the way. I've, also, only typically seen about 1/4 of players who own a game, beat it. Better still, only about 1% of the players get all the trophies.

I think making Shortcut require a shard gives it a reason to exist. Rather than just being a feature for the sake of having it, we can have some justification for it existing. I'll probably, also, use Shortcut to have one set for progression skills, one for general combat, one for ranged / unorthodox combat methods, and the rest for frequently used items. My excitement for this is so real as well. They implemented this so nicely. It'll be so easy to quickly switch to any set from any other set.

My understanding of game development is that things are incredibly fluid and likely to change early in development. I wouldn't be surprised if Con Boost has been given to an enemy they felt would be a better fit for. As for why summons went from being ever present to being called in might be due to the code to summon not being in the game at that point (or at least not being in a working state). This is all just my speculation, however.

I will not settle for anything less than an amorphous blob for a protagonist. Well protagonist is the wrong word, main character... No that puts too much preference on one character. Why should they be the only one controlled? Why don't they have AI? Where's the equality?!

I wonder how they will use the invert ability in game. It could possible replace the high jump. It could, also be a cryptic means of entering an area. I can imagine using invert in an observatory to crash through a stained glass ceiling to enter an isolated realm.

Not only was a major bug fixed and many other bugs are being resolved, we get a glimpse at a mechanic that is bound to add a great deal of fun to the experience. I've grown weary of crafting in games since it's become so common but this is wonderful. I can only begin to imagine the possibilities.

clivethebarker I was under the same impression as Galamoth . After reading your response word for word, I can see that you were referring to future buyers of the game and not those who already have invested (like the majority of us on the forum). Having said that I, personally, try to stay away from words and phrases that could be disrespectful towards any group as strong opinions and stances can get people riled up to defend theirs.

For the sake of discussion, how could refunds be brought about? I don't recall seeing an option to state which PC version the backer wanted. It was just PC Steam and PC GoG.
There's three things I can see happening: They allow all PC backers the chance for a refund, they don't allow refunds, or they only allow PC backers to change platform.
What other options could there be? Further speculation... What repercussions and benefits could each choice have regarding company image, development funding, and customer satisfaction? What are the chances of PC backers taking a refund even though they didn't want Mac or Linux?

I appreciate the honesty. Both good and bad, it's not common to be able to see all the stumbles and triumphs that occur during development.

I can't say what will happen to the demo on gog.com but I know you don't need the Galaxy client to play the games purchased from GoG. So as long as you keep a copy for yourself you'll always have it.

EnkeriaI'm quite the contrary. I remember talking with my brother, about how several today's games i lost interest BECAUSE there is nothing to "unlock". Fightning games nowadays have no secret characters, extra clothes or modes. They give the game and sell all that by DLC. It completely killed my interest on playing many games because i don't see a reason to play certain games if they have nothing to unlock. The way to fix this is to, obviously, give the player the privelage to purchase DLC after they unlock the ability to do so.

I'm going with Nightmare mode, cheat codes, co-op, and boss revenge. However, I feel that boss revenge shouldn't have bosses unlocked right away. Rather they should become available as the story progresses.
Part of the fun of cheat codes is stumbling on them so if I have to wait until certain conditions are met then they become too obscure to find by normal means. Having said that, if these are like Ratchet and Clank cheats (where they are unlocked sequentially and toggled from a menu) then I'll be content with them not being immediately available.
Local co-op seems like a sensible thing to have immediately available. I can just imagine situations where friends want to have fun together but one has to wait while the other gets to a certain point first. That just kills the fun for me.
Lastly, nightmare mode would be fun to have unlocked from the start for those more masochistic players.

Pretty nice update. I'm getting a strong feeling that this barber is going to attempt to give Miriam a haircut, possibly knocking off her head equipment to do so.

I'm glad you figured it out. That's incredibly strange though. I can't help but wonder what caused it. Permissions to read and write, but not execute within the parent folder? Regardless, enjoy the demo

Since it's the same exact issue after downloading the files anew, I can only imagine a few reasons. There might be others. Those issues are:
The files located in a steam database are flawed. I don't see this as likely as we might hear more people complaining on more common computer setups.
The files were corrupted or lost during download in similar manners both times. Again I see this as unlikely. There's too many variables to make this repeatable easily.
Your setup (hardware, the way you're running the operating system) isn't compatible with the game. I see this as most likely because your computer isn't being used the way an ordinary user would and the demo is very much a buggy beta version.
