purifyweirdshardYup the ship got big improvements. For one the environments went for a more brown aesthetic which gives it better mood and color contrast. They also look much sharper and I noticed how shimmery it looked in the original demo now it looks incredibly crisp and defined. They also made the ship more brown on the outside and added water effects to make the ship look slippery due to the rain. Even the village had loads more detail in the environments. Angel said we've been seeing old builds up to this point, who knows how good it looks now.

purifyweirdshardhmmmm.....maybe you don't equip them but you find them? and then you click that option to show you the combos? or....you do equip the one you want to use but still have to perform the combo. Interesting.

Yea, I think that's worth noting. Probably the vast majority are happy with the updates and how things have been handled along with the game itself. I just think there's a vocal minority. Having said that, once the demo comes out more people will be on board I'm sure.

All of this stuff is hyperbole because we know we are getting a slice of the game relatively soon, we know that the soundtrack or at least the orchestral stuff is all complete. We know NEW things will be shown off in March. Either way, all I'm saying is there's gotta be a balance, you can't always show brand new things every update otherwise you don't have much of a surprise when people get the game. We heard plenty of new themes recently from Johanness theme, to the Gears theme playing in the garden, to the Asian theme in the Asian location. Showing an older track redone feels like a good idea at this point ( it's accompanied with knowledge that the soundtrack is complete ) when an overload of stuff is coming our way from a slice of the game, to E3 trailer, to a release this year. Some restraint is good at this point in development because we are close to the finish line. Not trying to harp, we ALL would love to hear music I'm just saying it kinda makes sense right now to have that balance. I mean hell i'd love to see some special swords and special whips but if we saw them then what's the surprise in finding them or making them?

1. I think a majority quite possibly see below.
2. When I asked Angel in discord how they decided which tracks get orchestral treatment he stated : " just depended on whether or not a part of the track could be faithfully reproduced with real life instruments" ... seems to me they're pretty open to any of them being orchestral as long as it made sense for the track. He also said we haven't heard any of the final versions of the tracks.
3. Do you mean the versions we have that aren't orchestral? Discarded probably.....I treat them like demos or placeholders for the better versions that are soon to come.
4. Since they seem to have a lot of composers working on this game I think it's reasonable to think they might have their biggest selection of tracks yet... over 40+.
5. Quite possibly if it makes sense to.
6. SOTN's OST had a very diverse sound to it and it's one of the best in the series. Not an issue one bit and I hope it has a lot of styles. A Waltz, a rocker...etc.

Theme of Bloodstained (Title Screen): 3 at first but with the guitar added it's a 4.
Cursed Orphan (Unknown usage): 4
Voyage of Promise (Galleon Minerva): 4
Vepar's Boss theme: 2
Luxurious Overture (probably Castle Entrance song): 5
Holy Wisdom (Church of Dian Cecht): 5
The Executioners (Boss theme): 4
Theme of Johannes (Johannes alchemy lair / shop): 3
Gears of Fortune (unknown usage): 2
Asian Song (asian area): 1
The last two songs arrangements don't do anything for me. Not liking the light feel of Gears of Fortune, and the Asian song just doesn't hit for me.
REGARDING DEMO
8. I imagine it'll be the boat area --> town area--> opening area of castle then ends at some cutscene point after that.
9. I mean the beta would have revealed a lot anyways so I'm not so much afraid. I think there's a reason we get to replay the boat area because it's one area we've already seen. That's a conscious thing to limit the new we see imo.
10. I'm not good with stuff like that. A very small amount of the game I'd assume.
11. Yes, a little frog jumping on the ground probably.
12. Dark and Sorrow.

Redogan Usually it's me who is bummed about the update, goes to show you poeple look for different things. For you the music update would be better if we got a new track that was orchestrated but I think it was smart to focus on something we've already heard. Hearing the music in context with the game I think is pretty important so the more they keep underwraps the better. To know that the orchestrated tracks are complete and to even get to hear a taste of it and meet the composers is quite a big thing compared to what we've been getting recently. Also with the demo, people say it's not new info but it definitely gives us details we didn't already know. We are getting a SLICE of the game, it's not the E3 demos or anything....we get to play the boat section and progress farther than that and they will be taking on feedback from that demo. This is far meetier than what we've been getting and it seems they will have more new announcements in March so it'll only get better from here.

Pure Miriam Well this comes straight from Angel a while back: "but I think I can reliably tell you that the first playable build will either be the E3 2017 demo or an updated demo we use at events in the near future, and the other build we give you before launch will probably have more of that "beta" feel, with tons, if not all of the game systems and mechanics in place, and the beginnings of polish applied, so everyone can inundate us (lol) with all the feedback that I'm sure we will all have for Iga and co. Look forward to more news and communications to regarding this outside of this thread." Unless things have changed, this is what we should expect. A normal demo first, and a more feature complete slice after.

Galamoth I've argued this before but I personally think there's TOO much extra modes. I think the game could have been better off with less modes and more time and money spent onto the in-game gameplay systems they didn't have time and money to add, or to improve the visuals even more.

GalamothThose examples are extra modes though. Like I get that you can play as them through the main game but I feel some have way too lofty of expectations. Those games don’t have nearly the extra modes this one has. To ask for enemy bosses playing in a mode dedicated to them AND the main game is a bit much. Lol. You already have two extra playable characters for the main game.

Why would you need to play as an enemy in the main game? If there's a whole mode meant for it? Also, I'm not really following what you guys mean by playing as enemies in the main games of Castlevania's.... examples?

estebant Because bloodless is an enemy so it doesn't make sense to play as her in the main game. As others have said they probably made a few humanoid type bosses to play as in this boss revenge mode. Like obviously a boss like Vepar wouldn't be in boss revenge mode but bloodless? They obviously gave her moves that would make sense for traversing and fighting through the castle.
