Not a peep, I'm afraid. Frankly though, that doesn't mean it's moving forward OR cancelled. Pre-production is a time-consuming and relatively boring (to the public at large) process.

It was cool to see and it appeared Ippo Yamada was pleased, though things were a little hectic. I didn't stay for the pictures myself as I was really dragging by that point of the night, but I was happy to get in to at least see the presentation. Nicely done, purifyweirdshard .

Dunno if you're still checking this thread or not, purifyweirdshard , but just in case, it looks like Ippo Yamada may not necessarily be at the Mighty No. 9 signing; only Manami Matsumae is listed (though it's possible they simply don't have a listing for Ippo Yamada himself, just Inti Creates in general). So if that's off the table, I'd say it's either the Inafune & Inti signing from 5:30 to 7:30 PM or the MMZ signing from 11 PM to midnight, both on Saturday (there's also an Inafune & Inti panel, but I think it'd be a little rude to interrupt that). Let us know what the plan is in here if you can; I'll be sure to check the thread tonight and tomorrow morning. EDIT: And it turns out he IS at the MN9 signing. Ah well.

As long as it's 11 PM either Friday or Saturday, I'm cool either way. The 10 PM Thursday Gunvolt signing is the one I might have to pass on to enjoy the concerts, but it sounds like you won't be there in time for that one.

Right after the "Mighty No. 9 Live: It All Begins Now" concert concludes, huh? I can probably duck out of the concerts at that point for a little bit (the last . Also, is it wrong that I really want a Yamada vs. Matsumae Rockman-off on the main stage, judged by Inafune himself? EDIT: Actually, wait a second, purifyweirdshard ...Friday at 11 PM is the MN9 signing. Saturday at 11 PM is the MMZ signing. So which is it?

Oh wow, I didn't realize this was at National Harbor... I live in Arlington, VA, will have to take a look...! Dude, you're right there...and you have an interest in game music. It's a perfect fit. Indeed, though being near D.C. is hardly the only locale for something Mag-centric these days. They've spread out to several conventions and events across the USA as well as begun working towards the first MagWest in 2017.

At least I have Freedom Planet 2 and Cliff Blezinski panels and a Protomen concert to look forward to!
That last one is indeed a hit against those going to Magfest, so at least you've got that.

as much as I want a physical copy, I WILL NEVER TURN DOWN MUSIC WHEN PRESENTED TO ME!! digital since it's the only one that had the soundtrack >_> Not according to the $100 Alchemist's Treasure pledge level. "A physical copy of the game for XBOX ONE, PS4, or STEAM (PC/Mac/Linux) featuring special backer-exclusive content and slipcase, plus a keychain, lapel pin, soundtrack CD (and digital album), a retro strategy booklet, and your name in the credits!" Physical game AND physical soundtrack plus a few other feelies and the credits listing was enough for me to justify that pledge.

I don't know why I can intuitively play music. Any neurologists in the house that might be able to explain it? Fraid not. My biology background is genetic, not neurologic. Though there are a few quick articles I found on the importance and nature of musical intuition: mic.com/articles/88357/science-shows-how-guitar-players-brains-are-actually-different-from-everybody-elseswww.psychologytoday.com/blog/imagine/201003/einstein-creative-thinking-music-and-the-intuitive-art-scientific-imaginationstuartbahn.com/academic-versus-intuitive-approaches-to-music/oh god I effing hate it when musicians complain that I am playing a song wrong because I play it with no emotion...Basically if there isn't a crescendo written or a formant or it doesn't say forte and that kind of thing, I generally play at a consistent volume, and many musicians HATE that. I don't need to read the music to play it either, I instinctively know when some parts are SUPPOSED to be louder or quieter or faster owhatever. But I don't apply them to parts that are NOT written so, and apparently all music is supposed to have those variations thoughout the song. The only thing I can agree on is possibly having more emphasis on.. I forget the names.. like the first note in a bar, and the 3rd to a lesser degree in 4/4 time.. or like the 2.8th note if you have some crazy syncopation going on, that kind of thing. I understand the need to play those a bit harder sometimes to some extent, but even still I think you shouldn't do it on purpose so much as unconsciously do it due to the nature of the song and its rhythm. But yeah, I've had some people lecture me that I play it like math too much even though I play by ear and not by reading the notes (but I can do that too).. ugh.. gah.. blargh... *hits something*. I mean I'm not a stuck up fool who doesn't listen to their superiors and doesn't try to improve themselves, I'm very open to constructive criticism and growth, but music is art and that kind of thing is a personal style/nuance and shouldn't be forced IMO, seriously.. UGH. edit: on second thought, even the first notes and whatnot shouldn't NEED some emphasis... I say this because my favorite instrument, a cathedral pipe organ... cannot play one note louder than another, regardless of if you gently tap a key, or mash the darn thing into the ground. so BS... ARRRGH. Your question about the names for the rhythmic patterns in 4/4 time - they're called on-beats and off-beats, also referred to strong vs. weak or stressed vs. unstressed beats. It always amuses me how many terms there can be for something singular and specific. And yeah, people who complain about subjective emotional content in music can be a nuisance. I for one enjoy math immensely and fully recognize how music is built upon fundamental mathematical principles. Heck, I can appreciate the beauty of something like Euler's identity,

I actually have a rather peculiar disorder called 'dyscalculia'. It hinders me from full mathematic comprehension up to and including reading music. However, if you were to play something for me a few times, I'd be able to easily memorize it and play it back for you. I know a few people who would be horrified by the assertion that music is in any way related to something as "emotionless" and "pedantic" as math (thankfully, I am not one of them; I enjoy both).

I have experience as a vocalist, cellist, and pianist. All strictly amateur, though.
And despite not being a violist, I even know how to read the alto/C clef.

Gawd... note to self. Don't merge threads before . I merged the old thread into the the new one instead of vice versa. Sorry, I can't undo that. Its possible to rename the thread to its old name if wanted? I'm only tossing a idea, since I'm not the OP and don't know what he think of it. Eh, I don't really mind one way or the other. Can't modify the thread title on my end anyway - not sure if that's because the merge is in the other direction or simply because I'm not an admin/mod.

So I don't doubt everyone here is kinda burnt out on hopes of an adaptation of Castlevania in other media. The film apparently (and perhaps appropriately) has been stuck in development hell for years and the animated trilogy Warren Ellis was involved with for Project 51 Productions is presumed dead along with the parent company. However, appropriately enough, something might be rising from the ashes. Take this with a grain of salt, but it appears that Adi Shankar, the guy behind the grimdark-styled Power Rangers short that went viral a while back is apparently working on a "super-violent" anime-style adaptation of Castlevania with the current rights holders, Frederator Studios (yes, the Adventure Time/Bravest Warriors people). And going by his description, it reads a LOT like Warren Ellis's treatment from some time ago. collider.com/castlevania-animated-series-adi-shankar/So yeah...we may be getting Trevor, Sypha, Grant (call him a Dănești, please), and Adrian/Alucard back sometime soon. Cause to end a certain hashtag towards their owning company? ... Nah, probably not. Anyways, anybody hopeful about this? Disinterested? Not letting yourself get crushed by another "inevitable" cancellation? Speak your minds here.
