To be fair, even if the assets are in 3D someone still has to paint the textures. So technically yes, they will be hand drawn =P

Beta is already confirmed to be out for next year's E3. well, they've stated they hope to have it out by next E3. They can schedule all they want, but development always has road bumps so all we can really do is hope they will meet their goals!

There are always closed internal betas for content that isn't shown publicly. Testing groups who's whole business is to find and report bugs.

I voted for this knight, but my wife wanted the fairy. I would have voted for the fairy if it had angel wings like IGA intended. I think it would be cool if that little vortex the knight is in can teleport around and he comes out and attacks from the opposite flank of the enemy you are facing. oh that's a great idea. Especially against enemies with shields or long reach... Though I guess familiars are invulnerable to begin with so Maybe the flank part wouldn't matter so much. Still a cool idea!

To help build the atmosphere of the game, I would love to see a set of diary entries scattered throughout the castle. These would explain the background of the Alchemists and their goal, the origins of the curse and the leadup to Gebel's massacre. A lot of games have these old notes scattered in certain areas to build atmosphere, a good example being Cinnabar Mansion in the original Pokemon games. I think it would really help here, and really, it fits the tone perfectly. That's very nice. Maybe something like visions from the past or dreams (like Succubus from SotN)? I like both of these ideas. Passive lore imo is much more fun than forced story elements.

Thomas that actually sounds pretty cool XD If you like that idea you should definitely look into Shadow of Mordor. Super fun game with great async multiplayer components.

just wondering who is exited about Asynchronous Multiplayer? Considering we have very little indication as to what this really means... I'm excited for the possibilities. I'm hoping for some kind of revenge system a'la Shadow of Mordor. Imagine if your friend dies fighting a guardian knight and in your game you get a "bounty" for that same enemy to avenge your friend! Possibly increasing the drop chance for rare items or something. The possibilities are endless, so the potential definitely has me excited.

On the plus side, you guys get Horizon, Last Guardian and Uncharted 4! That's something to celebrate =)
I'm considering a PS4 just for Horizon... So hopefully it comes to PC and saves my wallet =)

So you've got three different positions listed there. Writing, Art and Design. My first suggestion, if you really want to get into games is to focus your skills. Pick one avenue you are most interested in and pursue that. You want to have very strong skills in one department, you definitely won't be able to do it all. Writing - There's generally 2 areas writers find work in games. Lore and mission/quest design. Either one will most likely require an english or history degree and I would rank these jobs as "rare" because they don't necessarily require and game knowledge, thus there's more potential candidates. Concet Art - Probably the most sought after position in game art. Everyone wants to do it so there's a TON of competition. There is a wide range of potential positions so it's not impossible to get in, but you need some serious talent to excel long term. This is a guy I went to school with who's been successful as a concept artist artofty.deviantart.com/gallery/ That's the level of illustration skill studios are looking for. Game Design - Character abilities, game mechanics, stat tuning, etc. all falls under under the design umbrella. Each studio does it differently, but generally there's quite a few designers needed for any given project. This is definitely the easiest area, besides maybe environment art to get an entry level position for. so it seems the only one I can feasibly do is Game Design... have you seen my tumbler and the list of moves I came up with and the first one was not even original ( Sonic Slash, Shattering Pane, Scattered Funeral Petals) I actully make games in my head (don't we all?) and that's my favorite part, comming up with Character abilities & game mechanics... but will that need serious programming skills for that? Design is not programming, so you won't need to know code. Having experience and knowledge of scripting is a huge plus, but not required... design positions vary greatly from studio to studio. It sounds like you are looking for a "game design" position where you get to come up with abilities and moment to moment gameplay elements, but not necessarily implement them. If you're serious about it then you need to be practicing. Get something like Unity and start learning the in's and outs. Part of being a designer is understanding limitations of not only the platform you're working on, but the scope of the project and how it affects other departments. Anyone can sit down and think up crazy awesome over the top spells and abilities, but what's important is knowing how those things actually get made and keeping your designs feasible within the constraints of a project.

cool I wanted to know cause I wanted to know the atmosphere. so on my other post with my "skills" how likely could I get a game making job... (be honest but leave the brutal part out of it please) I already don't think I can work in the gaming industry. so to reiterate I can write(kinda, only scrips and scenarios) I can do concept art character moves and mechanics (I have no idea if this is a thing) So you've got three different positions listed there. Writing, Art and Design. My first suggestion, if you really want to get into games is to focus your skills. Pick one avenue you are most interested in and pursue that. well it supposed to be lol Well my first questions is have you ever made an MMORPG? I have, thankfully, not worked on an mmo. I have lot of friends who have though. WoW, Wildstar, Eldescrolls online. I've always tried to work with smaller developers because I don't enjoy the corporate "cog in a machine" vibe of big studios.

off-topic -- JeffCrossall of them. hell, i don't know why you and i don't create our own animation studio... wait, yes i do... nice gallery! I liked those comics, and they are the reason we have New Game +!!! I think there should be a silly cheat code to unlock a gallery of all those masterpieces! Oh oh, with random Miriam dialogue when you interact with each one; "What?!, Hmmm, What?!, I'm interested in this, What?!, Hmmm."

Yep, 10 years as of January =) what games? if you don't mind answering the question XD... I've always wanted to make games but I can only do character concept art (if you can all it that lol), main scenario (again if you could call it that) and gameplay mechanics (is that a thing?) but sadly I cannot do much computer stuff. Here is my deviant art site for character designs... ignore the ponies jeffcross.deviantart.com/gallery/ no problem, I think my post above answers your question, feel free to AMA I'll try to respond as best I can. Making games is fun, but its still work. It's certainly not all glitz and glamour... In fact there's very little of either. They're are be l bagels and donuts quite often though =P

Yep, 10 years as of January =) Damn, I wonder if I've played anything you've made or helped to make. Possibly, my first title was Tony Hawk 7(American Wasteland), then Dungeon Siege and Crash Bandicoot on psp, Order Up! on Wii, Ben 10 UA:CD, Cave Story 3D, Endless Skater mobile, and now I'm working in my first AAA game that as I can't talk about. Plus a handful of stuff that got cancelled mid development.
