I think every one of the people who got screwed over should go work at a place where they would be valued, like Nintendo. At the very least, they don't cut pay on normal employees.

I re-read the update about the prequel game and it did say that it would be similar to Mighty Gunvolt while commending Inti for making Mighty Gunvolt in the first place. That means we should expect a 8-bit game. I'm going to say 16-bit. I would like a 32-bit sort of game and it definitely IS possible, but given time and resources it might be best to go with something more low-key. Not to mention you could do a lot with 16-bit.(Just look at Casltevania Bloodlines or Terranigma or Wild Guns) I like 8-bit too, in fact I really like it, but I'm holding out for 16-bit.

I'm going to refer to this new character as Greg. Why Greg? Because I find it hilarious. Greg the Demon Hunter has a pretty sweet design.

Very broad, very difficult to answer completely, but I want to take a crack at it. I'm going to go ahead and try to include sub-genres. Movies, TV(including anime), and Games if they apply: Horror -> Science Fiction Horror, Comic Horror, Quiet Horror, Supernatural Menace, Technology, Gothic, Weird Tales(think Twilight Zone), Dark Mystery, Noir, etc. Thriller/Suspense -> Action: Guns, Martial Arts, Robots, etc; Conspiracy, Crime, Legal, Military, Police Procedural, Forensic, Supernatural, Romance, Comic, Psychological(especially), Technological, etc. Science Fiction/Fantasy -> Alternate History, Comic, Cyberpunk, Time Travel(To an extent), Space Opera, Biopunk, etc. Mystery/Crime -> Everything from Cozy to Private Detective to Inverted to the classic Whodunnit and more. I put Action under Thriller because I feel that action is a byproduct of thriller and action itself gives me thrills. Also if the action in the movie, game, or show doesn't give me a sense of suspense or thrill, then it's completely lost on me. Music: Rock -> From Rock and Roll to some Metal to Psychedelic Blues -> From Classic to Jazz Blues to Soul Blues R&B -> Mostly classic R&B, not that big on the new stuff on the radio Hip Hop Instrumentals Some classic Rap Pop to an extent And I've been listening to Vaporwave and giving some of the folks with sound clouds a chance lately. Vaporwave relaxes me and it introduces me to new songs due to the heavy sampling. As for the sound clouds, I usually look for the beats and remixes.

One thing that I absolutely loved about the DS was the fact that you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting an off the wall, interesting game. Hotel Dusk/Last Window, Trace Memory, Devil Survivor, Strange Journey, Ace Attorney, Layton, Again, Ghost Trick, 999, need I say more? There were even more that were never translated too, which is a shame.
With the 3DS, at least physically, I'm not seeing much of anything at all. Most of it is on eshop if it even makes it overseas. There is ONE game that caught my attention though, Level-5's Time Travelers.
Off the Wall, high production values, choices, great soundtrack, and a super hero kicking some ass? I'm sold, but this came out in 2012 in JP. I wish it was coming here.
I'll add a bonus and say Suda 51's The Silver Case.
Suda announced a while back that he would port this Playstation game to the DS back in 2010. We haven't heard about it since. I loved Flower, Sun, and Rain, Killer 7 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I remember playing a bit of Moonlight Syndrome back at a friend's house way back in the day. I'd love to play another sublime game by Suda and that's how I would describe what I've seen of The Silver Case, sublime.

The Ace Attorney series for me is what really got me into gaming in general. I played quite a few games, but it was more casual back then. As for the Zero Escape series, I absolutely loved 999. The sequel, Virtue's Last Reward, was also pretty good. I highly recommend those two. 999 is on DS and IOS(with the gameplay of puzzles removed) and VLR is on 3DS and Vita. They just announced a third Zero Escape game and I'm pretty excited for that. I don't really have favorite genres, I mostly play what my friends recommend to me. It's usually hit or miss, but I'm always open to suggestions. Here are the straight up VNs that I've completed: Steins;Gate (It was interesting, but it took me a while to complete this one compared to the others) The Muv-Luv Trilogy (What a ride...) Tsukihime (This one was actually my first VN on computers) Kagetsu Tohya (It's like Groundhog day, but with cats) Fate/Stay Night (First two routes were decent and great, last route I didn't like) Little Busters (Might be my favorite thing from Key) Rewrite (Wasn't Digging it) Saya no Uta (I'm gonna be sick...) Ayakashibito (Surprisingly good) Yandere (My friend and I did a survival challenge with this game. He won once, and I won once. More details on that later) Sharin no Kuni (and the fan disc expansion) Swan Song (I was actually expecting a bit more from this when my friends told me about this one. The normal ending was great, the true ending left me out in the cold) G-Senjou no Maou (Same people who made Sharin no Kuni and I actually like that one more than Maou) Ever 17 (Same guy who did the Zero Escape series, great game) Hoshizura no Memoria (For the story it was telling, it dragged far too much) Chou Dengeki Stryker (There was only one route I wasn't crazy about, everything else was killer) Danganronpa (I'll be honest, I didn't like this one.) The Walking Dead Season 1 and 2 (Just kidding, though the second season was a disappointment) Here are the ones I'm still working on/put on hold: Kamidori Alchemy Meister (This game got tough really quick) Battle Moon Wars (So far, so awesome) Comyu (Haven't started it) Majikoi (I've heard good things about this series)
I don't know if the last two main Persona games count or not. I'm leaning towards yes.

I do have some favorites, I'm not the seasonal anime watcher like quite a few of my friends, nor am I the guy that outright ignores it or hates it.
Mobile Suit Victory Gundam (Anime) Monster (Manga) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Manga) Cowboy Bebop (Anime) Grave of the Fireflies (Favorite Ghibli Movie) Gunbuster (Anime/OVA) Riding Bean (Movie)
There might be some more, but those are off the top of my head.

Anyone else have some experience with this series? I'm still getting through the first game. I don't have the HD collection on the PS3 yet. This is a great video about the second game which got me excited for it. I know it's 20 minutes, but give it a chance.

How does donguri990 compare to the Truestyle players? Well, I'm going to break it down as best as I can from what I remember about the typical rules and what you would normally see in those types of Truestyle videos. Here are the rules on the site. 1. All footage must be recorded in DMD mode.
2. Maximum length for videos is six minutes. No, I won't allow extra time for non-turbo players.
3. Minimum length is three minutes, but four or five are preferred.
4. Maximum of 3 clips per video. But if you want to use only 1 or 2 clips, that's fine.
5. All rooms MUST be fully cleared.
6. Any group of enemies or boss can be selected, but remember that they must be defeated within a certain timeframe: you don't want a fight that will be too short or too long.
7. Caps alert: NO EDITING ALLOWED UNTIL THE FREESTYLE ROUND. This means: no speeding/slowing down of footage, no cutting things out, no insertion of clips, no subtitles (except before or after the gameplay), and no use of cheat codes to give you or the enemies infinite health, etc.
8. You can, however, add your own choice of background music. Indeed, doing so is encouraged. Anything other than hearing Taste The Blood 50 times in a row... >_>;
9. Also, you can freely edit in the Freestyle round.
10. Super costumes are allowed. A good reason for using one is preferred, however.
11. And finally, webcam/digicam footage is allowed, but if the quality is too poor I reserve the right to disqualify your entry: the same applies if it is too laggy or choppy. Try to explore other ways of recording and only use webcam or digicam footage as a last resort. Now with that malarkey out of the way, typical Truestyle videos focus on one character since that's how rounds are usually divided up. (One round is Vergil(Darkslayer), One round is Trickster, etc as far DMC3) They also aren't typically about showing off against one single enemy, but clearing out several while showing off. That's for the first video. I could see the second video being in the Freestyle round, despite the Vergil break. donguri990 clearly has talent and I'm curious to see what they could do with the restrictions above. TL;DR: I think they can win a round or two and if the tournament comes back, then I'd like to see them enter.(Along with Dango, Tikok, Brea, Ramada, Joch, Moe, Pokey, etc.)

I'm pretty big on Castlevania and I'm always up for something different. That's why I found Order of Ecclesia as well as other "Igavanias" to be so exceptional. This is my very first backed project on kickstarter. This is coming from a guy who hasn't pre-ordered a video game since 2011. Take your time, consider our feedback, think carefully, and keep positive. Doing these things will ensure that a lot of people are happy in the end. Good luck and fight the good fight.

What if item crashes were an extension of alchemy? For example, you create a fire weapon and with sufficient magic it would do an "item crash" of sorts. There would be specific weapons that could do this at a high cost and it would be tough to find the materials to make it.

PC. I don't see myself getting any of those consoles except maybe Wii U at the moment and even then I'd rather play it on PC personally.
(I'm actually kind of excited about the possible mods, but is Unreal 4 easier to mod than Unreal 3? I've heard that trying to mod Unreal 3 is a huge pain.)

I'm going with in-game engine cinematics. I recently played Freedom Planet, a sprite based kickstarter game. Though people were mixed on the story, I liked the presentation of it. In game is more than enough to convey a mood:
Or provide a bit of visual humor(as far as custom "sprites"/models for comedic moments):

I backed it at the 28 tier initially. The backer exclusive content amounted to about 3 things at the time. Now I want the 60 tier physical due to how much the exclusive content has changed. My friend backed it at 300. My other friend wishes he could back it at all.
