I'm tempted to make a thread here about boss patterns in general and how bosses could/should behave. Anyway, unlockable bosses on higher difficulties or bosses that unlock after you find a key to a certain room towards the end game or...? There is a boss thread already Here. Perfect. Thank you. In the World Ends With You, there is a secret boss battle as well as a secret scenario once you finish the game. This secret scenario is mostly played for laughs, but the boss battle at the end of it is no joke. It is against a character you've already met. This could be the same way in this game. The secret unlockable boss could be a character you've already met or be the "Mastermind Behind it all" trope that seems to be popular these days. Or it could be a gag boss where it is a fairy or something with a few million HP and hits like a runaway train.

I'm thinking for Gebel or Iga specifically, they would behave like Dracula for the first 3 or 4 times you strike them. Once you do that, they say something along the lines of "Screw this" and the real boss battle(s) start where they have a completely different pattern. I think that would be a nice joke.
Ok seriously though, I like my bosses aggressive. Most of the bosses in Order of Ecclesia or Dawn of Sorrow for example put up a hell of a fight. It keeps the battles intense and interesting. They were a mixture of the high HP attack sponges and the unique mechanics.
This may be a 3D game, but the bosses in Devil May Cry 1, 4, and especially 3 felt like a test of the skills you've learned so far. If Miriam learned, say the ability to wall jump, there could be a boss that tests your ability to wall jump.

I remember playing the Japanese version of Red back before Pokemon was even known in the states. A foreign exchange student stayed with us when I was about....6 or 7 years old. He actually let me play it and I played as Squirtle back before I knew what it was. I even evolved it. About a year later, I see the same red dragon along with a blue turtle with the title "Pokemon" and I just had to pick them both up. The rest is a strange, back and forth history that includes a Christmas with my cousins as I played Gold and my one cousin played Silver with a link cable. There was the time where I was playing Sapphire and Rayquaza corrupted my game causing my irrational hatred and swearing off of legendaries.(It's also one of the reasons I'm not too keen on Gen 3) There was my worst pokemon run ever, Diamond, where I actually made so many basic mistakes that it took me 3 years to finally beat it.
Yeah...this series definitely means something to me. My favorite generation is 2, but I can see the appeal of the other generations.

I'm all for classic enemies too, but put a new spin on them. Skeletons can boomerang you, axe armors block subweapons and use a giant axe rather than a small throwing one, zombies are kamikaze enemies, etc. I don't want these spins per say, but you get what I mean right?
Also I agree about the 60/40 thing. I'd go with 70/30.

I second the idea of traps and specific stalker enemies, that could be a lot of fun and shakes things up quite a bit. The former certainly kept me on my toes in Rondo of Blood.
As far ideas for security, other than the obvious locked rooms, I'm thinking about how certain boss monsters would attack you in Terraria. For example in that game if you attack 3 hearts, a brain would rain down on you. You could possibly trigger this early on accident. It might just be schmuck bait, but it could easily create some memorable moments in Bloodstained.

For the "death" animation, I don't want one. Instead just have Miriam fall unconscious then rise back up glowing with evil power and a game over title. Now there's some nightmare fuel....I like it. I've seen some crazy idle animations. The ones from the Genesis game Ristar and Freedom Planet, come to mind. Though that's more humor rather than cool or reactionary. I would want an idle animation of her plucking a rose absentmindedly. Make that the idle for the Garden area if there is one. EDIT: Actually, what about taunts? She could get something for doing a taunt animation after an enemy dies or the room is cleared or something. One of her taunts could be projecting a rose with magic or something.

I agree. I'd have it as a 1 hour cycle if it were up to me. It would give us more time to find unique enemies. Heck, what if the clock system allows for certain rooms to open up. Some open only at night and such.

Well up until about a week ago I've been playing that Steven Universe mobile game. Think Paper Mario lite as far as how gameplay goes. I actually like it a lot and it is my first mobile game. I decided to boot up Shadows of Mordor after a long time, I have that on PC. I still get my booty handed to me by mooks. They just love interrupting my combos. I fare a bit better in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD though. I'm in Wonderland at the moment. I want to get the Ultima Weapon that that game, something I didn't do in the original.(I got it in 2 vanilla after so many years and looking it up online. Turns out it is far too easy like the entire game. ) I'm using Vergil in Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition. I just love cheesing the jump feature.

I don't have the 60 tier yet, I plan on getting it once those surveys come out, but you can bet I'm going to sign up to beta test. I'm getting it on PC anyway, but does it matter if you chose physical or digital?
Anyway, I can understand if people don't want to spoil the experience. As for me, I would get the chance to make sure that the experience is rock solid? That sounds much more gratifying and I'd like the chance to do that if it presents itself to me.

The only good part of yesterday was going to Subway. Had an argument with my mom where I took the logical side and she was angry at someone else.(She raised me with that "See the other side", logic-based mentality and results based attitude) This didn't really go over that well despite me accomplishing what I wanted to do, calm her down. I'd tell you what she said to me after the argument, but I'm not really in the mood and it really went against what she raised me to be. Following this, I've had to kill and clean up flies and maggots. Then I didn't get much sleep due to people simultaneously calling my phone and knocking on my door for stupid and important things. It's funny how my house works like that... I have an interview today, not a job interview, but something about as important. Here's hoping for a better day.

For me, it's speed and structure. The very first Igavania that I almost 100% completed and couldn't put down was Aria of Sorrow. I played Dawn of Sorrow before it, because at the time I didn't know there was a 1st game. Once I found out, I stopped immediately and went to play Aria.(I was about...1/3 of the way done with Dawn) It was like apples and pears, and I love apples way more than pears.(Though pears are ok)
Aria was so fast, that there wasn't a single moment where I stood still. Once I got the black panther soul, instead of beating the game, I found myself dashing through the castle to old areas and such for fun. The castle felt like it was designed for this very thing and it pulled me in further than expected. It might be my favorite Igavania so far. I'm still about 1/3 done with Ecclesia, I just restarted Symphony with the hopes to finish it this time, and I don't have Portrait of Ruin or Harmony of Dissonance yet.
I also enjoy the alternate playable characters. Richter, Maria, Julius, you name it.
