Owl knight replaces warg. Zombie Soldiers replace the first Skeleton soldiers. Slogra and Gaibon appear early before the Alchemy lab. Armor Lord in the Outer Wall doesn't respawn until you leave the area. In Portrait of Ruin the first Dragon Zombie never re-spawns. Did I miss anything? If I recall correctly, in Aria of Sorrow, a couple of Witches will spawn in the Headhunter Boss room if you re-enter anytime after you defeat the Boss. I forgot about victory armor in Harmony of Dissonance

purifyweirdshardAnd I forgot to mention... the Amy shard lights the cannons too. So all you would need is a fire shard to get through the cannon area. I remember Rondo also had progression gates depending on the subweapon you had.

What I mean is like with the directional shard fire blast, and I imagine it's only one example of this happening, you'll need that particular shard at various parts of the game to light fuses for cannons and wherever else. If your shards get overwritten that have progression tied to them, then you will have to go back to wherever that enemy was to get it again and hopefully not kill another enemy on your way back again to where you need it. They could circumvent this by placing enemies with the requisite abilities always around where you need to use the shards, but I think that kind of subverts and weakens the design some and figuring things out. For example, you get Morte Bone in the temple level, but to open something up you need Morte Cannon. So, all the way back to the Galleon for you. That makes sense. I guess it's just a matter of how often that kind of thing is used.

I don't know if someone has already suggested something similar to this...
What would you guys think about a cheat or mode that disables the selection of shards and auto equips the latest shard an enemy has dropped? Maybe increase shard drop rate as well...?
It reminds me of the way sub weapons worked in older Castlevania titles. You had to make the best out of the sub weapon you had.
Also if anyone here is like me, then you probably used only like 10 souls out of hundreds in Dawn and Aria. Once you find a better bullet soul you never have a reason to equip the previous one you had.
I feel like the entire dynamic of the game changes when you're forced to use a subweapon you're not comfortable using. This would be after playing the regular game of course.

Something similar to this has occurred in Igavania titles since Symphony of the Night, albeit to a limited extent. In SotN, after you progress to a certain point in Dracula's Castle, you'll no longer encounter the lone Warg at the very beginning of the Entrance (just outside it). There will instead be an Owl Knight guarding that area. In Portrait of Ruin, backtracking to certain rooms after witnessing story-related cutscenes in them will lead to encountering more enemies (not necessarily new ones). Galamoth I think you're referring to the western Castlevania slot machine they were showing for our US casinos, unless there's another game they named characters wrong. In this one, Hector was "Simon" and Dracula's name was Hector. I think estebant was the one who made this image poking fun at it lol It was me! I totally forgot about this. Yikes. Maybe I don't want a new Castlevania game...

Pure Miriam That thing you said about Morte is the reason I personally want LVL1 Cap unlocked from the very start. Did you know Mudmen in Portrait of Ruin do the same style of attack as Morte? I only found that out in Hard Mode where you don't automatically destroy everything in your path.
