yeah i had found that out as i was searching for a solution, edited main post about it. however i still never conciously pressed all 4 at the same time and i did not hold them for 3 seconds if at all. as i mention in the edit i tried all 4 individually when i got stuck in a softlock but i certainly didnt hold them, only a tap....so there is still some bug here just not quite the one i initially thought
Edit: so as it turn out it is only a tap of all 4, no hold needed. in my button pressing and stick wiggling to get out of the softlock my rolling press across the shoudlers (LT to LB to RB to RT) mustve counted as all 4 held at some point as i did it. so moderators, you may move or close or delete this thread as you see fit....i still feel there might be a small input related bug here but i could also just not be remembering clearly exactly what i did...as suddenly getting softlocked is kind of surprising

The dialogue language switched at random to Japanese. I went from the village back to the galleon to hunt morte's for the quest and to explore just a little. i went 2 screens into the galleon and the second transition took a moment and in the wait i was fiddling with the controls walked back across the transition then back again rapidly. when i went to turn it in the quest the dialogue had changed to japanese. i dont know at what point this occured as this was the same play session where the ledge drop softlock glitch i reported occured so i may have pressed something that toggled it while attempting to report that bug i encountered but before i reported it the dialogue was english.
After saving and restarting the game the language is still in japanese and i cannot find a way to change it.
Edit: found the toggle command...had to look around but found it on the 505 support knowledgebase. there should be a note in the game about that...as i did not think i pressed all 4 buttons at once. i tried them systematically when i got stuck in the ledge drop i mentioned..so stange.

this happened to me when i walked off a ledge to grab a drop from the first flying enemy in the village (for some reason the image embedd isnt working, i paste the link into it and it doesnt seem to work)
I stepped off the ledge immediatly above Miriam in the screenshot and got stuck in the falling animation when i landed on the ladder. I was able to fix it by activating my directional shard which returned normal control, though no other input was apparently functional.
Edit: on further inspection in an attempt to re-create the bug, i think i caught the cause. While i was not able to purposely recreate this catch i think what happened was i landed just perfectly on the end of the ladder's walkable surface such that the game put me into a state of falling but standing on the ladder. i cannot be sure as i cant seem to recreate it myself. if it does have anything to do with it the enemy i killed dropped an item that fell onto the ladder immediately to the left of where i got stuck (which is past the point you normally fall off the ladder) so that may have been related.

Got a few bits of feedback to give. so far the list is small but as i play more of the game im sure ill find more. - The whip's attack speed seems somewhat slow. i understand the whip is an unwieldy weapon and maybe the upgraded whips fix this but i have yet to make it quite that far
- I had some friends over at the time i was checking out the demo for the first time and they commented Miriam looked slow. i didnt feel it myself but that may just be me.
- The lip flaps in the dialogue scenes need some polish. Especially Miriam, she appears to open her mouth and vibrate it a bit whenever she speaks.
- A note about the button combination to switch languages would be nice.
- the long travel distance between the final part of the demo and the town npcs is a bit too long. some kind of warp would have been nice, but i also understand that that point is still fairly early in the game
- i like the crafting system, all parts of it are nice but the weapon part feels somewhat unneeded as the weapons you find are often far ahead of where youd be able to craft them. i like that i can find things while adventuring to up my strength but at the same time it kind of makes crafting a very much 'wait and see what i get before i waste materials' kind of thing. if the 'best' weapon of each category is locked behind crafting then that is an acceptable 'middle ground' of sorts in my opinion.
I will be sure to come back and add more feedback as it comes to me so this list may get longer.
Seeing as ive now completed the demo i wont likely continue to play it and generate feedback so this list is now final as far as im concerned. i really enjoyed the demo, it had the right amount of difficulty for me and i had some struggles at some points but through better preparation and learning how the enemies behaved i succeded. that is right where i want the difficulty to be. i wont comment on the story yet as it is far too incomplete to judge. Thank you for making an enjoyable experience and keep up the great work.

Here is a list of some glitches i encountered during my play, ill expand them as i encounter more - Johannes's dialogue in the village for the first time never appeared. i could skip the scene where he gave me some sample ingredients for the crafting of a potion, but every interaction with him has broken in the same way.
- the infamous box glitch
- the framerate when i tried vepar's shard skill dipped very hard. i dont know if thats a hardware limitation on my end or an optimazation thing or just a glitch with using it in the first part of the village after getting it.
- in the village i killed the first flying enemy and dropped off the shingled platforms onto the wooden ladder below to pickup a drop and softlocked in the falling animation. I was able to fix it by activating my directional shard. (im making this one its own post)
- the kukri flickers when resetting to the ready stance after attacking.
- occasionally Miriam will be unable to use a directional shard. Unsure what causes it but when it happens she moves her body as though something had been fired but nothing happens.

uh...hi...im caobie, little overwhelmed by crowds and dont really like putting myself out there. finally decided it was probably time to check out the forums since i havent been a serious part of the community since i backed during the actual campaign *nervous laughter* anyways once you get to know me im not quite so...reserved and nervous sounding but this is a totally new crowd to me. im hoping to become a part of the community proper, even if its the quiet guy in the corner or lurking around the discord...which you'll see me around there too under the same name....just as soon as i- ah there it is
