About Vepar: 1) I personally don't care much about boobie physics, but I do find the new chest design looks much more realistic, which is a good thing. 2) Yes, absolutely. Vepar is a boss after all. More demonic representation never hurts! 3) Considering Vepar might be the earliest boss we encounter in the game, it might be a trigger shard IMO.
About cooking system: 1) It's cool, it encourages you to collect all recipes lel 2) I haven't seen the animation, so it depends. If it's too "cheer-up", it can seem to be out of place. IMHO, It doesn't need to have some cute poses to make a character adorable. Take Gwendolyn in Odin Sphere as an example, while she's eating at the table, there is no extra "cute" poses. Her behavior is natural and elegant, and that alone can make her attractive. 3) I don't think it'll affect the difficulty. Players can choose to use or not to use a certain system in a game. If you want a challenge, simply don't buff yourself up. It's always good to have an extra option for those people are bad at action games.
About new familiar: 1) Might be in another enemy. 2) Every familiar should have different gimmicks. I still want the flower fairy tho!

Jokes aside, I really love the the new music they're revealing, that classic vibe. Ahhh.
Crafting system do reminds me of Odinsphere tho!

Cplus I've finally got some time to start reading Feeling Good (despite finished a game last weekend...), and just finished the first two chapter. I got a BDI score of 18, BDC score of 42, which is borderline to moderate depression, this alone is a relief... Again, thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely dig the book.

I beat my first run on Standard (I prefer calling it the "easy" mode tho), 13+hrs with 73% collectible.
There are a lot of throwback to classics like Cave Story and Metal Slug series. Especially CS, one of the gun looks like Spur, the ending "cast" roll is exactly the same as Cave Story's ending lol. Intense fight with big bosses (usually half the screen), colorful and detailed environment, control is good, using the wrench is fun, all in all it's a very polished game. There are some nitpick about gameplay though, some of the bosses or even mob enemies in the later game needs a certain sequence (i.e. use counter-attack first, then use gun A or wrench) to defeat, and the game sometimes doesn't give any hint, leave the player to trial and error.
The weak point of Iconoclasts IMO is in plot and writing. I'm no expert on writing in English though, but the writing is... well, let's say it's hard to parse at least. Plot-wise, I don't know whether these were left out on purpose but I feel there are too many vacancies. Not the kind of vacancies like W.D. Gaster in Undertale that initiates fan works, these are vacancies that the game NEEDS to explain, especially for a dark game like this. Yes, this game is dark despite it's colorful visual, or even down right brutal IMO. It features a bunch of broken people, and actually "break" one of the main character in front of you. That being said, I do like all character it features, but without a consistent plot, the weight of those character falls nowhere, which is a pity.
I'll give my grade anyway: Graphics: 5/5 Music: 3/5 Gameplay: 4/5 Plot: 3/5 Volume: Medium

I originally wanted to post this in Pure Miriam's depression thread but I thought that maybe it's not a good idea to put my burden on someone who has already diagnosed with depression, and that thread is just so warm that I don't want to ruin it.
These are some heavy stuff (at least in my mind), please be aware. I have no intent to disturb anyone, if it's improper to the forum, I'll just delete this post.
---
I was thinking about the subject on depression.
I'm not diagnosed with any mental health disorder, because I haven't seen a psychologist yet.
The reason I'm not going to doctor is my "symptom" is pretty subtle (if you can even call it "symptom"). I have a very close friend who is diagnosed with anxiety disorder and depression, to be honest, comparing to what she's been through, my struggle is nothing.
I have several issues. The first thing is (I called it) the "nihilism", this is the major one IMO. It's like all of the sudden, everything means nothing, even the inevitable end. It feels like, I've done nothing. What I'm doing means nothing, what I want to do has no purpose. Games don't intrigue me anymore, I don't want to read books or watch a movie, death feels like clicking "Shutdown my computer". Life is painful and exhausting, but death has not much merit anyway, so I keep the status quo. At the same time, the feelings are still there. I still feel angry, funny, jealousy, heart-warming, I still have sympathy. But all of them in the end equals to... emptiness? I can recover from this somehow, until it happens again.
Second, I'm over-sensitive. It's common knowledge that Asians are sensitive, but I'm over-sensitive. There are two sides of it, one of them is that you have more sensibility at art (like literal and music, which I love), the other side is, you care too much about what people might think about you. The latter one is pure pain. For example, if I sent someone an email and need a reply, and there are no reply at all. I'd start check the mail that I sent again and again, wondering what should I do for remedy if I said something offensive.
How can a person be over-sensitive and sometimes nihilist also? It's like being tearing apart.
Third, I can't control my emotion well, especially anxiety and stress. Sometimes my emotions are roller-coasters. Last second I was feeling the rapture of getting something done, the next thing I feel is "that thing you just created sucks". Anxiety is something I just can't overcome. Although I love singing and I do music cover, and I'm pretty confident about this hobby, the thought of getting on a stage and sing in front of many people will bump my heart rate up to 150. Even when I do a cover track at home, it has to be when my parents are out. Even there's a single indication that they're home, I'll put my mic away as fast as possible, like I was doing something shameful.
Stress is an other thing. Last year I was a intern at an IT company as a coder. One day there's a piece of code that I need to debug, but after some testing I can't find the bug, so I talked to my team leader to examine that code together. The whole project should be ready tomorrow, and this piece of code is just the first step. After many trial and error, we still made no progress. I can feel the nerve is growing during the test, and by noon, I finally snapped in front of my team leader. I started to panicking, smashing my keyboard heavily. Magically I somehow managed to keep myself from swearing out loud, but nonetheless, I totally broke down that day. My team leader was very nice to me though, saying "take it easy, take it easy, we still have time". In the afternoon the bug was fixed, but I'm still regretting my behavior.
All those issues don't affect me physiologically, my body is fine. I really wish I could be diagnosed with some kind of disorder, at least that means I'm not fine, and that's okay, because we're human, we got ill easily. If not, though, it means that I'm a person who has no control over himself, and that sucks, right?
Thank you for reading my rambling this far, I really don't know why I wrote so much though. The fact that I would like to write about all of this might mean that I'm just a person that sucks at controlling myself.

SteamAlso it's co-published by DANGEN Entertainment, which Ben Judd is involved with. The pixel art is awesome and the game mechanic seems interesting (it has some kind of puzzle element I think), I'll definitely give it a shot. Screenshot:

MEGAYou're welcome Recently Baidu Netdisk started to adjust their policies on downloading files. Almost all files have to be downloaded by their own client (which needs a legit phone number to use, you know, a very "Chinese" policy). Even if you use the client, the download speed is capped at 50~100KB/s unless you buy their "SVIP" membership lel

I would like to get an update that shows substantial progress (which I feel they should have at this point). I honestly have no idea where they are in development of the game (which is sad for a community-funded game with a forum such as ours). I know where I think they should be. But those two things are most likely no where near each other. I feel like they should be pretty close to completing the main game at this point (or are already finished) and starting to work on the stretch goals and extra modes, etc. From the last update I generally don't feel that's the case, if they've already finished the main game, the Japanese themed area we've seen recently should be filled with enemies. There are games that costs 4 or 5 years to shape up, and considering changing the developer might cost extra, I personally don't mind if there's another delay.

I bought the OST just for the sake of collection lol. There's a crack on the jewel case but I personally don't care. It's new, it's still sealed, and it'll keep that way ;-) I already knew the art work book from Mana's post on the forum, but it still blows me away when it arrives. The printing, the paper, the hard cover, everything is just... beautiful. It's available on Amazon.co.jp and it only costs 3400yen w/o tax (around 30$ I believe). 緋いユリ 小島文美画集 ( The Crimson Lily -Ayami Kojima Art Works): Amazon.co.jpOST: Amazon.co.jpSorry for my fat finger lol

Succubus: Vote without thinking. Valkyrie: Vote without thinking, it gives an exact opposite appeal of the above. Elf: Personal interest. Vampire: Hey it's IGA's game after all lol Corrupted: The "ultimate", or, the "end". Stained: Stained glass version of Miriam seems badass.

IIRC there is a post regarding these numbers when the forum is still new.
Anyway, '1890' is the number of rooms in SoTN if the revert castle counts. Although technically they are different rooms, but it's the same map and rooms share the same layout, so I doubt that. If you cut 1890 in half which is 945, 1600 > 1.5 * 945, no conflict at all. That's my guess.

Elfina Ashfield : As far as we know, Guns will have ammo and it was revealed that the gun properties (such as elemental damage) will be determined by the gun's ammo. Considering guns will have limited use, due to ammo, that we will need to either buy and / or forge, i believe guns will have high damage to compensate. Although we also need to put in consideration the fact that, it is most probably that guns will have the highest range of the whole game...So, it's difficult to tell. To be balanced, they need to have a good damage, because they are of limited use, but not outstanding damage because their range is (probably) the highest. Interesting The ultra high damage ones would be those slow melee weapons like axes lol I'm really curious about how guns will work in game, considering almost all IGAvanias in the past focused on close-range mid-range melee battle. May we have more enemies with projectiles? Agile enemies with the ability to attack from afar? or even a extra-large room with special placements that gives guns more advantage comparing to other weapons?

The first time I heard this I'm like "oh okay, another Megaman game just like what they did with Megaman 10... another NES-esque game", but after the trailer I'm pretty interested in this.
After all these years, finally, the original Megaman has evolved into 2.5D (come on, X8 is like... 10 years old right now, no it's already 12 years, wow), and I'm satisfied with the art direction they choose: bright and pop-out look with cel shader to emphasize on outline.
This to me, looks like a promising sequel to a long-lived franchise...and they decided to develop it in house, which is cool. As long as they don't screw up gameplay. I can't see how on earth they could do that though, it's already a tried-and-true formula, all you need is a decent control and level design. Side Note: The latter IMHO is the main reason why MN9 falls mediocre, and later works of IGA also suffers from it, mainly due to the small budget they got I believe. (for example, OoE has lots of long corridors...)
---
About Z and X series, though. SPOILER ALERT!!! Considering how Z4 ended... bring Zero back in Z5 might be difficult unless they decide to do a complete reboot.
X9 on the other hand clearly has more choice, the cliffhanger ending in X8 left many things unexplained, they can dig more deeper on Axl's character, or just put old Sigma on his death bed once and for all then design a new antagonist... The poor guy has been resurrected for god knows how many times...
Please Capcom, please, if Megaman 11 sells well, bring us X9 or even better, a new series. I know it's hard to do nowadays but hey a man can dream.
---
....aaaand also this is a perfect title for Switch lol, I'm really really glad that I bought this console now, can't wait to see more games on it.

Thanks puri I've been searching for this post We still don't know which track is composed by whom, but it doesn't matter if they sound good. After all just like what Enkeria have said, we have plenty of time to dig that out after the game is released. Also I agreed on CastleDan about adding more color, the color palette right now is kinda bland. That's why I love to see those vines, those green provides a sense of contrast which is a great touch.
