Pure Miriam Definitely understand why you'd be curious about some of these things, and I think that apart from purifyweirdshard doing a good job of replying, what I can add is the following:
First of all, I've said it before lots of times on Discord and I'll say it here or anywhere else as well, "Nothing from the Kickstarter has been cut from the game, if we ever do have to cut something, we will communicate that to everyone honestly and explain the why behind the cut".
Secondly, a lot of these concepts were back when Iga was still conceptually working to create and envision how the game would work.
Third, unfortunately I can't concretely tell you the answers to some of your questions, like "what's in the game?" or "How did this idea evolve?" but needless to say that the time will come when you can see for yourself and will be able to tell exactly how it took shape.
Hope that satisfies a little bit even if not 100%.

yeeeee, loving the new hairstyle, hope theres a long braid or long hairstyle thats super flowy love that the swordbreaker (dagger) is held like it is in sotn, hoping that if you hold the button you get the old guard stance too since its super useful for farming weak respawn enemies Yeah me too! I can't spoil things just yet of course, but I would say rest assured, because this hair style isn't the only other one, and every single one I've seen the team make makes Miriam look absolutely gorgeous, and I say that as someone that is baffled how most games put in a character creator with like 200 hair options and only 3 that are even decent. -_-

CastleDan Hey there, happy to hear you liked the update, and don't worry about referencing SOTN, it's totally natural, and you know I've told you before that I want to hear the good and the bad, so don't worry about it, really. To answer your question, it is indeed placeholder, and although not *every* weapon will have its own sfx, there are lots of different sfx for lots of different weapons. An example of this can be found in the fashion show video itself if you listen to the standard swish noise of most weapons and then hear the sfx for the heavy axe.
Regardless, I will make sure to communicate this feedback to the team to doubly make sure. Thanks for the constructive feedback!

Yän Fair enough, I'm not trying to overhype things, just really excited about all the cool stuff I get to talk about in December. Definitely always keeping in mind the balance of not ginning people up TOO much because then they expect Iga on their doorstep with a SOTN cake haha. As for crunch, it's crunch in the sense of we have certain internal deadlines coming up and lots of cool stuff we want to make sure we get just right.

Hello! Agreed on the bunny ears, I had already noted that for feedback to give to the team, so they will hear us hehe. For the fire sword, you can see my reply to Castle Dan above, and yeah just like there will be amazing beautiful weapons, there will also be some more "ho hum" weapons that are meant for early game or even just for those who want a "simple" or "realistic" look.

Hey there, I know it would be easier to come up with ideas if you knew who the cast was, but that's a secret for now
As for time deadline etc., there isn't a hard deadline, but look at it this way, the sooner you submit your request, the higher the chance it will actually be used.
The longer you wait, the opposite is true. I'm doing it this way for several reasons, not trying to be capricious.

I do know what we're doing with Unreal and any relevant updates (or not) but I don't think it's my place to really talk about that, not because it's controversial, just simply because I could confirm or deny something that would then spawn a bunch of other questions I would have no idea how to answer...I'm not the dev after all I'll let the team know that it's something that people care about and leave it up to them to address in a KickStarter update or something similar if they like.

Hello everyone,
Apologies for the delay in following up on this! With the recent Halloween Kickstarter update and a few other things, it's been pretty busy for me!
Unfortunately this contest didn't really get a huge reaction, but that's ok! We're currently trying a lot of things when it comes to community engagement, and hopefully you'll all see a lot more well-put together efforts once we bring on a full time community manager, as right now I'm doubling as a CM and just doing my own thing on my own time hehe.
Anyway, I'm happy to reveal that yugosalkins and Sunraiser have won this Halloween costume contest! Sunraiser in particular winning the bonus prize of an Iga-signed print from NYCC, designed by Mana Ikeda.

krystal : Well yeah man, of course it would be I wholeheartedly agree, freddy, and to me that's the logical way of looking at it. However, there do remain a certain amount of people in various regions of the world without good or any internet access that want a fair shot at these things. It's an unfortunate circumstance, but the eventual complete editions usually come about for these folks. I think sometimes, vocal proponents of "I want everything at once" may just as likely be at this disadvantage and prefer not to voice it because of a pride issue/embarrassment, rather than per se they're physical copy/collection fetishists. That's a thing, too, and a first world problem indeed haha, but even that desire may have varying underlying causes. So, main thing is, we can't know for sure someone's circumstances from what they choose to say publicly online, so I wouldn't hold it too much against them. 505 and ArtPlay have the challenge of suiting the needs of the many the best they can while also being as fair as possible to the few, accommodating within reason, and I think they will do exactly that. I would stake my bet on Angel-Corlux knowing what he's doing. stake? get it? Hello everyone,
I know the idea of staggered content can cause lots of questions and concerns but let's see if I can provide some clarity.
First, I'd like to say that the game is still currently in development, and IF we ever adopt a staggered content release strategy/schedule, it will never be for the core single player game experience. If we do adopt a staggered release strategy we would do so for things like multiplayer bonus modes such as vs. mode and Co-op boss rush etc. This is something that's not currently the plan, but is always constantly being evaluated, and if we took this path, we would make sure to clearly and honestly communicate it to everyone.
As for the likelihood of staggered content, "complete" editions etc., well I wish I could say more, but if I did then I would have to talk about whether or not we have plans for DLC and if so what kind / how big those plans are....which I can't do right now lol.
Unfortunately, this may be a little unsatisfying, but for now, all I can do is ask everyone to trust that I / Iga & the team have nothing but the enjoyment and satisfaction of ALL the fans at heart, so whatever may come, we hope and are confident that you'll all be quite pleased when all is said and done.

Oh boy. I'm really not a fan of the new jump. It's like she teleports to the top of her jump arc and hangs there a while before slowly falling down. I don't complain about a lot of things, but this change really seems like it's responding to the common complaint of the game feeling "slow" without considering how it can adversely affect gameplay. It doesn't seem well thought through. Looking over the footage, I think I agree with this post. It looks like Miriam's jump gets floaty all of a sudden near the apex of the jump. It's a weird look. Maybe it doens't feel that way when you're playing but if def looks that way and it looks different than how the jump worked previously. Angel-Corlux , did you guys change Miriam's jump or are we (multiple people are clearly saying this; I even saw at least one comment to this effect on the Kickstater update page) seeing things? Why the change to this if so? Hm to be completely honest I'm not sure, but I will raise the issue with the team when I forward them feedback. Don't worry, we'll make sure it gets ironed out!

After watching the video of few more times, one thing that is bothering me is that the enemy's disappear too quick and pretty abruptly. Would be nice if they had a longer death animation. I went back and looked at the other gameplay videos and it's the same for some reason I'm just starting to notice it now. Hey Cplus, yeah no worries there, it's something I told the team as personal feedback as well, they're aware.

haha someone's been paying attention hm? Nah just a little maybe On an unrelated note, are you a ricotta or cottage cheese guy? Who knows anything about hair dyes? jw Ricotta, but only if I'm in Italy, since actual real fresh ricotta is all but impossible to get in the USA. Many times what you see as ricotta here in the USA doesn't even exist in Italy lol. No idea about anything regarding hair color, apart from it can look really cool or make ladies look really cute and exotic haha

Haha, this seems like fun! Do the costumes have to be Bloodstained-related? 5 days might be a little hard to get a good one ready by that time Nope! Just any Halloween costume is perfectly fine, although you may get some bonus points from the judges if you have a Bloodstained theme to the costume.

The title doesn't really match the body of the article, does it? He's consistently critical of it. That being said, all the points are valid. Yeah, it's valid and understandable, a public event demo is always a tricky thing, because you have extremely limited amount of content (monsters / levels / items etc) and you also have to balance it to try and make it interesting for the most hardcore of players, while not discouraging the droves of players at events like these who in some cases have never even played a video game in their entire lives. (no joke I personally taught a kid with his mom how to play...like..."jump here, now move there"...oh boy lol)
Point being, that I understand the article's criticisms, while at the same time would point out that the author doesn't seem to understand or appreciate that a public alpha demo for a game like this, is not going to be the full game experience they are so obviously trying to fit their critique/review with.
For example, I played the Forza Motosport 7 demo at PAX West this year, I'm ok at racing games, but as I looked around I noticed that EVERYONE was in first place in their own game...yeaaaah....on top of the majority of features/settings/etc. being absent from the game. And this is a huge AAA game we're talking about.
Another example of what I'm saying is that while it's true that enemies and Bloodless in the game can be exceedingly easy if you know what you're doing, there are also several areas in the demo that are *apparently* impossible to reach, but if you're really, really good at Metroidvanias and use all the teachings from the demo, there are ways to access these areas. The rewards for doing so range from full health restores all the way to a few so far unrevealed advanced weapons that I haven't seen a single person access or talk about anywhere.
So while I appreciate the writer took the time to come visit us and play the game, and I acknowledge their criticisms in a vacuum are valid, there's a larger context at play here, and I'm totally not worried about it at all because it's a context that won't last for very long, and ultimately when the full game comes, will be a distant memory of the past, if even that.
I also replied to the original article...gotta surprise the interwebs...this publisher ain't afraid of the light...I REVEL IN IT! lol

Galamoth Hey there friend, yeah I can understand the confusion, just another nebulous misunderstanding of the Inti/DICO shift, c'est la vie...
Basically it's true that Yamada-san as a member of IntiCreates is no longer involved in the development of the main game, but it's also true that his contributions to the project got "locked in", so to speak, a long time ago. So the end result is really the same, the team has all the music from him they need, and now they're just hard at work putting everything together. Hope that answers that question and puts some minds at ease at least about this particular topic.

As my bubble shield of divine light dissipates, the grizzly sight of fallen allies all around me pierces my spirit, a concoction of rage and sadness overwhelms me...
Looking around at who's left, those who can stand are barely doing so...yugosalkins and Sunraiser have received potent healing aids but everyone else is a moment away from an ignoble death at the hands of that wretched creature.
I want to heal my friends, but drained of all divine energy, my sword is powerless...
I grab Lux one more time with both hands and stare with half dead eyes at our tormentor...she smiles, one last insult before the end...
Barely holding onto consciousness, desperate ancient words of power spill forth:
"Grant me courage, divine light of life" ...a faint glow from my chest appears...
"For I am thy humble servant" ...specks of light form...
"Surrender my spark and flame" ...filaments spawn, drawn to the blade...
"So those who stand for you" ...the filaments become strands...
"May crush thine enemies" ...the strands melt together...
"As dust before the wind!" ...a constant beam of incandescent light bursts out from my heart and engulfs Lux.
I thrust Lux skyward, releasing a massive column of light towards the heavens.
Silence ensues, and many wonder what just happened.
Beams of light, bright and warm as the morning sun, come crashing down from the clouds above, enveloping every single soul who fights the evil of Bloodless. Galamoth is pulled back from his emergency teleport to be restored by this healing power, Averinya opens their eyes, Zereca snaps out of it, covered in crimson but ready to make Bloodless spill her own. Every ally who was either dead or dying until a moment ago is now rising to their feet, marveling at healed injuries and renewed fervor.
(All party members regain consciousness and get +10HP.)
The pillars of light fade, and I finally fall to my knees, using all my strength just to prop myself up with my sword. I look to my friends and allies, bloodied, tired, but with new hope and determination in their eyes. I smile at them all, a good long smile I make damn well sure to share with Bloodless.
...She isn't smiling anymore...
I collapse.
(Angel-Corlux is unconscious at 0HP and doesn't respond to healing remedies or magicks, his life force appears to have been depleted.)

Recovering from my failed attempt to smite the vile creature, Bloodless glares at me, freezing the very life within my bones...where there was once devious perversion and mirth, there now burns overwhelming darkness and ravenous hunger...
...she turns from me as others begin their attacks anew...
All color drains from my sight, sounds and smells of the battle fade from reality and the wheels of time are held in place by an encroaching black nothingness...
As I gaze into the abyss, from which only the crimson false light of shadow burns, an inescapable dread overwhelms me, and in that moment I feel the anticipation of death as certain as the setting of the sun.
Grabbing hold of my holy water I douse myself in it and quickly drink what is left...
...in desperate defiance of what is to come, I bring my holy sword Lux crashing down until it impales the ground, discharging all of its stored divine energy to create a bubble shield of swirling holy light!
Kneeling, holding my sword, I open my eyes...and brace...
