Bored this weekend, then came across this surfing youtube. People say it reminds them of SOTN and also Dark Souls. I remember hearing about this game before except that it had control issues and such that made it not worth the time. This time around the word is that the dev has fixed them to the satisfaction of fans, so I bought a copy. Anyone tried this game?

Good thread. I am also itching for discussion since no update.
I like reused assets when modded. In older days sometimes a night time look was applied to existing graphics to give it new life. I wonder if Bloodstained will have day and night cycles or weather cycles. I'm thinking probably not, but there is opportunity there, especially with the procedural generation. It could be used to flash back or even flash forward for special scenes. Combining day or night lighting with procedural generation and you could add an entirely new experience in an area or scene.
For example, imagine one of the current castle screenshots like the one that looks like a partially outdoor courtyard with trees in the back. It could be modded for an earier phase where the trees would be smaller and the pillars and stone work looking brand new, or it could be a dismal future setting where the structure is aged and crumbled far beyond repair with the trees leafless and dry. Again, combine that with weather or lighting and a lot can be accomplished without creating 100% new assets.
Backtracking I'm okay with, especially with the flawless music. There will be places to teleport from, so backtracking won't get unbalanced either.
Degraded bosses are fun. I don't want every boss to be re-encountered out of their home area though. I wish there was an option to relive big bosses fights such Beelzebub, Galamoth and the Granfaloon in the same place they were first encountered though and I mean without having to exit the story mode and enter some boss rush or time trial mode. It's a thing I'd like to relive without starting a brand new game either.

The last game I bought for my Pii U was Mario 3D World. Glad they are going to Switch. I will probably stick to xbox and PC for my choices

I recall an interview question with IGA expressing some interest in higher resolutions and higher specs available with PC's which then alluded to higher spec consoles. I can't remember the discussion with anything quoteable. Does anyone else remember this?

item limit those who love challenge can limit themselves from using items, no point put a limit on that. I almost never use item in aria of sorrow and Order Of Ecclesia but I don't like my ability to collect 99 of each items to be taken away exp degradation grind is a play style, why blocking a play style? Those who don't like grinding can forget about grinding and let those who like to grind. Again, my soma is level 99 in aria of sorrow and 200+ in Order of Ecclesia. to be honest, game is about fun and i find these limitations no fun at all and they are insult to the original series. Harder doesn't mean more fun, a good game should not be judged by difficulty alone. I agree. I don't like strict limitations on items or grinding even if my current level is already godly.

I was talking about your joke on Vepar. That's all. Ah... it's been a while, so I completely forgot I wrote that, lol. I'm just joking around that it might be something that Feminists would target as being misogynistic or something and try to get it removed or whatever. Vepar is more attractive than 111% of feminists, so yeah it could trigger them.

Rest assured Lestaroth , I was 111% messing around with my post. Not actually wanting a pillow like this. When I first read this thread there were at least 3 things where I had not even the slightest clue what the hell they were and I had to look them up. When I saw what a waifu pillow was it reminded me of this weird lap pillow and Miriam's condition. Suddenly, photoshop.

How about a real musicbox that plays a track chosen by the backers. Too bad this one didn't make it to the selection list. I would have picked it for sure.

"Hey look, people at Discord were talking about Miriam body pillow." "Pft. Miriam? If we were to EVER consider one, it would be Morte or Dullahammer." said the ArtPlay team 2017. Okay, I will settle for a Miriam lap pillow then. Don't judge me.

You know, I'm surprised candles weren't ever suggested. They're seen nearly everywhere in an Igavania game.

I'm just posting to mention I received the team's feedback for the Demon Summoner part of my tier. It is clear that the team put a lot of thought into it, which makes the long wait worth it. Flawless translation too. We are in good hands.

I love pinball. Real tables have become completely out of reach for me over the years, but I have Pinball Arcade with 30 tables or so including Medieval Maddness of course. Bram Stoker's Dracula is awesome for a vampire themed table. Over time, the voice samples from any table usually become my favorite memory. Since Bloodstained isn't out yet I can't help but imagine hearing Robert Belgrade or the Librarian from SOTN and how well their lines would work into some pinball action.

Pure Miriam Duplicator? It was a pain to get, but worth it. Once again, I wish the Librarian was a powerful demon of Greed (secret boss), so I could give him proper retribution. I guess he used his chair as an emergency seat at the ending. He also used it as an "emergency" toilet.

I think it will be a stripped down version of what we love, like a bacon-cheddar burger without any of the bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes I would actually want. It might have its own charm, but when I want to play something retro I play my favorite old arcade games: Rygar, Black Tiger and Rastan Saga. I'm not into new games taking steps backwards. I also wish the time to develop the mini game was spent on the main game.

Quote: "Our first new enemy is Aello. This flying harpy keeps its distance from the player. Our original plan was to put her in the ship stage, where she would use physical and wind attacks."Wait, let me take a closer look... "...where she would use physical and wind attacks."This quote is a little vague, but does this mean I was right to guess that there's going to be a separate " Wind" Element (magic damage) in this game, instead of it just counting as "Slash" damage? Can't wait to see the Harpy break some wind.

I like the enemies. Colorful and smooth animation. SOTN has my favorite game soundtrack of all time, so I loved the interview with Michiru-San. Sad that she has had to experience the loss of her cat. I didn't know she was a cat lover. All her answers were great. I admire her fascination with space and it was interesting to hear her remarks on how the game influences her music. It left me wanting to know even more!

99 or no cap on items is fine with me. I loved collecting food items in SOTN. I never allowed myself to spam heal Alucard to the point of ruining the game. I rarely even used postions. I hope they trust us again with a high cap rather than high restrictions. "Trusting" your players to not use the exploits that you put in your game rather than preventing the exploits in the first place doesn't sound like good game design to me. However, I can get behind the idea of wanting to collect items indefinitely which is why I'm quite fond of the storage-box idea pitched earlier in this thread. So you're calling SOTN bad. I guess you didn't like it.
