Yeah I think that the background has always been a little underappreciated in IGAvania games, considering the amount of detail that they put into them. One of my favorites is: The painting in the room when you fight Death, in Circle of the Moon. Also, not completely related, but sorta the same style are the DSS cards, also from CotM. I think little details like these really subtly make me appreciate the smaller things, more. :p

It's kinda staggering to me this game requires windows 7 64 bit. Like serious? We can't get a legacy version that supports XP. I know no ones using it anymore but, i'm always a fan of seeing things optimized as much as they can be. If something like the Witcher 2 or Mass Effect 2 can run on Windows Xp it feels kinda ridiculous this cant. Especially since this game is getting a PSvita port. I've seriously got a legacy PC that from 2005 that runs Mass Effect 2 but since its so old it can run this. Could I run it on one of my other vastly newer pcs? Yeah absolutely but still point remains why is this so unoptimized and requiring of way more resources than it needs at the moment? Im assuming because its such and early build. I'm fairly certain this is just a product of the demo being very early and built to run on a specific machine at E3. It felt choppy in spots on my machine, and although what I have isn't amazing, it can run games at around 60fps like Overwatch and Titanfall at max settings. I just really hope the Vita port runs well. I need a reason to dust that creature off. I'll probably be mainly playing this game on PC/PS4, however. Mine was a bit choppy at points, too. I had to turn down the (res...? Not good with computer talk LOL) on the options screen to the lowest setting to have Miriam continue going at an ok speed LOL

I will be posting an early demo here as well, so if you like it you should tell others. That's really rad that you're MAKING a game! I wish I was that talented LOL. I think that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a big enough game that staggered DLC would be the only available option to not delay the main game. And with all of the DLC, I think it could be possible for it to have a 'deluxe' or 'gold' edition disc. Much like how Bethesda has 'game of the year' editions, I think that they should stick to the staggered release goal of the extra bits, and then maybe make a larger version of the game down the road.

Same. I'd rather not have my hand held through the game, especially when some concepts are a given. Like Miriam's abilities for example. I'm sure that the intro into the game will tell those who don't know, that Miriam has been afflicted with the Magic-Crystal Curse. Boom. She can use the CRYSTALIZED abilities of monsters, given she defeats enough of them, and she absorbs their powers. Sorta one of those 'a given' circumstances. In my opinion, anyway. :p Yup, that's exactly what I was saying. They don't need to explain the gameplay mechanics in the story, the fact that she has a curse will make it pretty obvious. The beginning intro will make it pretty obvious, don't waste dialogue with actually characters telling you it too. tbh, I'm kinda hoping that the 'in your face stopping whatever you might have just been doing' tutorial was JUST for the demo. It seems kinda outta place in a traditional IGA game. I mean none of the others had that. (With the exception of PoR, which gave SMALL tutorials on how new relics worked, which wasn't too annoying lol)

Ever Oasis is an immersive free roam RPG unveiled by Nintendo at the 2026 e3, and I think that this game looks PHENOMENAL. The story revolves around a young boy named Tethu, who must join forces with the water spirit, Isuna, to create an Oasis, and make a haven for the residents of the world. Features:
- Large, immersive world to explore, including caves, dungeons, and the huge, untamed desert
- RPG elements, including party setups, character unique abilities, battling ferocious monsters, Etc.
- Oasis is a large scale haven, that can be built any way you choose, including booths, stores, and more
All in all, I think that Ever Oasis is gunna be a really solid addition to my 'games to get' list. Anybody else have it on theirs? :p You went to E3 2026 cool, must be fun to time travel. Kidding aside doesn't really look like my cup of tea, chibi art is never my favorite. The game could be good though. uhh...I fix. LOL

The possible positive returns of accessibility are greater than our own niche preference for lack of a feature, in this case. We should prioritize the game being received well. Yeah, her nap is a great narrative opportunity to do this. I would be for the button/input information being separate text from what the NPC says, though. Dan does have a point about it always feeling weird hearing a character talk about your controller. I'm with the croc on that idea, so long as Johannes doesn't end up like Barlowe entirely lol ;p I -want- him to be a good guy! A good guy with a horizontal whip attack...and crosses and holy water...maybe he puts on a headband... Yeah...I bet he'd look good in a headband...yeah... *drools*

I'd hafta say that Majora's Mask is my favorite because of how dark it is, because of the mature elements, and because of how the game is larger than itself, in SO many ways. Played that game sooo many times...

The only problem (if you could really even call it that) I really had with the demo was probably the aesthetics of the menu. Everything pops out too much and just looks sorta... cheap? Especially with the some of the FONT CHOICES (ALL CAPS! ALL CAPS LAZY ARIAL FONT FOR DAYS! DID I MENTION ARIAL SCREAMS LAZY?). It would be great if everything in the menu could be made to look a bit more subdued and blend into the background. Maybe dress up the exp, HP, MP bar a bit too. It might sound nitpicky of me, but hey, small stuff makes all the difference. Other general suggestions would be control customization, different themes for the menu (probably too much trouble but what the hell) and maybe color changing for the menu (or brackets) like what was in SoTN (again, prolly too much trouble). One change that I would urge strongly is differently colored damage numbers for dealing and receiving damage, or at least change it so received damage appears over your head like in SoTN. Sometimes dealing damage and getting contact damage at the same time makes it hard to differentiate how much damage was actually done. Overall it's great. Looking forward to the finished product. ...and put Miriam's name in the menu screen! LOL But yeah, agreed, it looks really solid. Maybe White numbers for damage the enemy has taken, red numbers for damage Miriam has taken, and when we get to see it, green or blue numbers for when Miriam recovers health? :3
