Wabbajack would be an interesting item to use in a game like this. Just imagine if Bloodstained had vague references to the Elder Scrolls series in the names of a few of their items...or even enemies. There must be Mudcrabs in Bloodstained! God knows we had enough LotR references in SotN, so... it could happen.

Where was this written? Crap I missed so much case I backed so late I wish I could but I have no idea how to get in contact with them lol except for Ben Judd but he rarely answers me... I wish they read our post XD Me too I wish there are going to be a bunch of familiars XD. I wonder how many types there will be... Arcueid Brunestud said something like (not exactly what was said lol): - fairy type for healing,
- ghost type dealing status ailments
- knight type for pure damage.
But I think there should be more types like helper types: - maybe one that could stop time for a bit,
- one that opens portal like holes for you,
- one that makes enemies dance (one of those WTF powers lol)
- one that turns enemies into something else like gold crystals or other enemies (like you can load an enemy card in the familiar and every time you use its power it turns it into that
- enemy.. if there is no card loaded it just turns them into the weakest enemy)
I don't like the word "enslave" I want it to be more like these demons don't want to be there anyway so they are easy to turn to your side:) Various books on the occult. A few Goetics are said to be good natured and faithful, and some "desire to return to Heaven". Interesting stuff.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to kill you. . . I just need your eyes!" _ghost That quote seems vaguely familiar. Is Sheogorath Lv. 255 confirmed for Bloodstained? :3 Wabbajack would be an interesting item to use in a game like this.

I get my daughter tomorrow and I'm really excited about it. She will be staying with us three weeks then on the 4th week I will be taking vacation. My presence on the forums will still be attentive, but on that 4th week I will really be depending on someone else here even though I will still be checking in. This might make people wonder about who I am in my personal life. If there's enough interest I will answer questions. I just wanted to let people know if I start posting less what I'm up to. Of course, anything could happen... and if there is any other news I will keep everyone informed. I'm interested, and I want to take an educated guess here. You're a very friendly, giving person. You easily strike up friendships with people who share similar interests, and you're drawn to people who show creativity. You spend your time in creative pursuits, with family, and also gaming, reading, and doing draftsman-y stuff. You live in Alabama with your wife, a Texan Otaku who is a damn good cook and loves anime (you lucky dog, you ), so I assume you spend a great deal of time eating like a king and relaxing while watching anime. Am I close to the mark?

With alternate costume feature announced on Kickstarter, I am wondering if it will be appropriate for us to have a costume designing contest. I really want to see you creative minds could create. I like this one.

I suppose I'm a little biased when it comes to game prices. I'm still kinda stuck on 1990's prices when even used games that were 3-5 year old still sold for $20-$40. When I see a deal for $5 or less it's kind of a, "Well why not? I can skip buying a pop tomorrow for that!"$5 a pop for pop is kind of expensive, though you did also add "or less". I tend to look at game prices in a similar way, but I'm trying to change that now that I have a serious backlog of games to play.

I'd be totally fine with however the main game, among other playable modes, will be handled RPG element-wise. For those who'd rather not play an "Igavania"-esque game with RPG elements, there's the Classic Mode option that will be available in Bloodstained (if I remember correctly from the Kickstarter stretch goals). All I'd be wondering is if there will enough variety in enemies so that it wouldn't be too difficult (or tediously time-consuming) to reach close, if not all the way, to the maximum level. Although, I'd be totally fine with an absurdly-high level cap...since I've never reached the highest level in any Metroidvania before, anyway. For those who prefer a greater challenge in the main single-player mode, why not have a "Level 1 Cap" difficulty option?*(Edit): Personally, I'd love it if Bloodstained's castle is larger than 4 SotN castles put together, and there would be enough variety in powerful enemies throughout your travels in the castle for a maximum Level-Cap of 255. How about this? (from bloodstainedfanforums.com/thread/120/excited-bloodstained-offical-stuff?page=2)"I know Order of Ecclesia had level cap modes, one of which was you capped at level 1... but that might be a bit extreme for some people. I like your idea, and I think it could even be added to: Have an option to turn exp gain on or off at any time, with loot rewarded at the end based on how low you were when you cleared the game. For example: Lvl 100 (max level): Joke weapon A. Level 75-99: Weapon A, armor A, joke weapon A. Level 50-74: Spell A, weapon A, armor A, joke weapon A. Level 25-49: Familiar A, spell A, weapon A, armor A, joke weapon A. Level 2-24: Weapon B, armor B, familiar A, spell A, weapon A, armor A, joke weapon A. Level 1: Familiar B, joke weapon B, weapon B, armor B, familiar A, spell A, weapon A, armor A, joke weapon A. Maybe less items than that, but with the whole "earn things from your tier and all previous tiers for completing this challenge" mechanic intact."

I don't know. . . I always thought of familiars as utilities. Giving them items seems a little too in depth to me. You have support, damage, defensive, silly, and a few other types of familiars. They are not supposed to be their own character, but more of a tool for use. I like brainstorming, but I think it just adds a layer to the game that it doesn't need, and the same result can be accomplished in ways we already have implemented. We want the familiar to do more damage? We could instead make our weapon deal more damage, or have a spell level up if you don't want to get close to an enemy. And the familiars will most likely have a level system in place anyway, so just by levelling them they will become more powerful. As for familiar armour, If Iga keeps in line with most games, then the familiar won't even be attackable. weapons and armor doesn't necessarily have to raise the familiars' stats... they could just change the looks of the familiars and the weapons don't need to raise their attack but maybe give them different attacks animations or something At that point, given that someone has to make those new images and animations, why not just make more familiars?

The one in the picture in the Kickstarter update that announced the Sword or Whip results is literally how it looks like. That's not just "a" katana, that's the strongest one. That's the one. Huh. Has a blue oni on it.

This looks interesting. I dig the graphics style and gameplay that I see, but the tiers piss me off.
$7 - THE GAME EARLY BIRD / $9 - THE GAME Wallpaper + DRM-Free Digital Copy of A Hole New World + Steam key
$10 - THE GAME SUPPORTER EARLY BIRD / $12 THE GAME SUPPORTER Wallpaper + DRM-Free Digital Copy of A Hole New World + Steam key + PDF instruction booklet
Why the heck do I have to pay extra for an instruction booklet when it's a digital item? I'm assuming it's not a walkthrough (or else it'd be called a strategy guide). The devs are trying to make this feel like an NES experience, but I recall all my old NES games coming with a booklet.
$25+ says "Access to the beta from day 1 and the forums". I hope that means the beta forums, because if they're putting their actual forums behind a paywall, that's not gonna end well.

I never played any shadowrun game ever, I kinda ignored it way back in its 8-16 bit days because cyberpunk was never really my thing (in addition to it lacking anything else I knew about that made me want it... I mean it never looked bad to me per say, it's just I never heard anything about it that said "I NEED THAT", other than that it was cyberpunk, which was a minus to me)... Then sometime between those days, and it's original return thing on steam, I heard it was a rogue-like..and I was like IT IS?!?! I thought it was an RPG like fallout?! (I like post-apocalyptic even less than cyberpunk but I tried fallout for reasons I can't recall...I loved fallout 1 and 2...and even tactics, not 3, but that's another topic altogether, I'm long-winded enough). So ever since I heard it was a rogue-like, I was really interested, but didn't buy it until a sale, but during a big steam sale, it wasn't on sale yet, and I was saying how much I wanted it... and when I mentioned wanting it because I like roguelikes, especially ones that are willing to get graphical improvements WITHOUT becomming rogue-lites...I was told "ITS NOT A ROGUELIKE WTF NOOB"... so now I think it's not a roguelike (I dunno! I never played it!)... heeelp... is it remotely a roguelike? or is it a cyberpunk fallout-ish game? not saying it copied or was inspired by fallout, but that kind of rpg? It's not a roguelike. It is cyberpunk, but it also has fantasy elements. The combat is turn based on a grid. It is post-apocalyptic in a way, but high tech is still the norm (more high tech than we have now), many cities still exist and thrive, megacorps run the world, and... Hrm. Magic came back to the world. Things mutated, viruses wiped out large percentages of the population, dragons took over corporations and fought for dominance, rogue AI performed horrifying experiments on people (which megacorps then did to try to reproduce the results), some people turned into orcs, or trolls, or elves, or dwarves, or horrible abominations... It's one of the best games I've ever played, because it is reeeeeeally text-heavy. Incredibly so. You get lots of dialogue choices, and they matter. What stats you choose matter, and not just for combat purposes. Your choices really do shape the world... and yet, you're still always one wrong choice away from death. You will face forces that have more men, more resources, and more experience than you. You will be hired by people who will doublecross you, you will make a name for yourself and face the consequences that brings, you will be forced to choose between the lesser of two evils more often than not, but sometimes you can make the right choice with the right people and do some good. Or not. It's up to you.

Either something got changed, or the universe was hiccuping while I tested originally, because my copy+paste edit exploit doesn't work now, nor does cutting the roll commands during edit, posting, editing, and pasting the commands back before posting.
This is a good thing.
Also, editing the range isn't allowed, which is also a good thing.

It would kind of suck if you editted your post merely to fix a spelling error, and then get called out on it, then accused of cheating. Thus the proposed rule if nothing prevents cheating through edits.

Yes. Shadowrun: Hong Kong. There's also a Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun: Dragonfall Yup. Beat 'em both and backed Hong Kong. Dragonfall is much, much better than returns.
