Can confirm I spent way too long trying to find that chest. I swore it indicated a hidden room must’ve been nearby but I was wrong. Im inclined to agree that it might be a developer mistake or a hidden chest that was left there and not intended for players to be able to find.

This is sort of off on a tangent, but the survey is unusable by anyone that doesn't have a google account for security/privacy reasons. People do complain about everything huh? I could give someone on the Internet a bag of gold and they’d manage to whine about how heavy the bag is. It takes 5 minutes tops to make a new and very anonymous throwaway Google account, jfc. It’s 2019, who still doesn’t have a Google account anyway? If you’re internet savvy enough to kickstart the spiritual sequel of a niche game from the 90s and then sign up AND comment on a videogame forum about said nich game then chances are you have a Google account at this point or know how to safely and quickly make a new one to use.

I'm all for paid cosmetic DLC. The resources spent on it would be minimal but the money from sales would help funding for a sequel, which would be useful for us, especially if we don't want to deal with another Kickstarter. Exactly. For me complaining about a game getting paid cosmetic DLC after launch is peak gamer entitlement. ArtPlay and 505 are a company and they want to maximize revenue, so what? As long as they don’t abuse the costumers with bullshit like loot boxes or micro transactions (like premium currency) I’m all for it. Look, I want this game to do well and be able to fund a sequel. They’ve already confirmed they wouldn’t be recurring to Kickstarter again so there’s that. The resources and time to make these should not impede a team from continue to progress on this game’s post launch content and/or sequel. They’re just new skins, calm down! You’re still getting a ton of very significative free DLCs down the road, let them have these. Free for backers only, the rest should pay. Like I said; peak gamer entitlement.

Most people seem to be enjoying the game. Theres a few people who are outraged who seem to post in multiple places but for the most part people are enjoying Bloodstained. All i can say is that funding kickstarter is a risk since there isn't even a guarantee that the project will be successful in the end. Its a bit like buying a lottery ticket. If you can't except the risk then kickstarter is not for you. I found this project to be one of the most transparent and response kickstarter projects to date. The fact that they responded to criticism of the early graphics and updated them is pretty amazing. I know your upset with issues you've personally had but frankly no game launch is perfectly delivered. Arguing with satisfied fans isn't going to help you any either besides venting your frustration. And to be frank, getting the game a few weeks late is not a big deal. We've waited several years already, its not a big deal to have to wait a few more weeks. Does it suck? Yes. Does it ruin the game, no. Not even close. I don't see any ethical violations committed here. They've had some issues shipping some copies on time. Hardly an ethics scandal and certainly nothing worth legal actions. There is no guarantee of getting a physical copy of the game by launch day. Bingo People keep treating a crowdfund like if it was an Amazon preorder. They’re not. You’re donating money for a project that doesn’t exist and therefore risks are involved. And if you can’t wrap your head around that then you shouldn’t be using Kickstarter ever again in your life. Yes, the campaign wasn’t perfect but of all the high profile game kickstarters this was by far the best one, the most transparent, and the one that yielded the best game. Bloodstained RotN was exactly what I wanted it to be (except with the glitches and somewhat botched launch).

This board is not nearly big enough to justify so many sub forums and categories. We should have two sections: everything Bloodstained related, and off-topic. That’s it. There’s literally no reason why this thread couldn’t have gone in the General bloodstained discussion forum and because it’s on a folder no one ever thinks about checking out (honestly didn’t know there was a Music folder here until this thread was shouted in the Shoutbox).

Just gonna say you must’ve not backed many projects on KS if you think this is the worst KS campaign ever. Bloodstained’s crowdfund was far from perfect but, by God, its also far far FAR from being the worst either.
Hell, it’s not even the worst videogame Kickstarter that’s launching this year, let alone the worst of all time! And trust me when I say this because as a backer of Mighty No 9 and Shenmue 3 I think I know what I’m talking about.
Look, I’m sorry you went through this but it’s not nearly as bad as you make it out. Especially when it’s also on you for backing something and not following the project for 4 freaking years. This wasn’t an Amazon preorder. You should’ve paid a little attention at least.
PS: even if I agreed this was a horrible campaign I would never agree that the final product wasn’t a good one. Bumps and all this was after all a crowdfunding success with a videogame I ended up loving, sinking 45 hours into it (with more content to come), and Platinum’d it.

This is easier than it probably should be and it’s fitting that Bloodstained Ritual of the Night’s best song is also called “Ritual of the Night” because that’s hands down the best goddamn song in the entire game.
I’d use any excuse to warp back to the Hall of Termination because of that and the save room below the warp room was my go-to quick save point too because of it.

It’s a small thing but I’d love to see it changed: The Coachman in The Garden of Silence I wish I didn’t have to wait for his dialogue box to appear where he goes Captain Obvious on us and tell us “We are here” after riding with him. After that first trip it was fine but after going on his carriage for the 10th time it can be annoying even with the Skip button because it’s still slower than it should be. It’d be awesome if after the ride we could just get off and keep going without having to wait for his dialogue to start so we can skip it. I know it’s a small QOL thing so if it couldn’t be done it’s no biggie but just putting it out there. Congratulations on the game’s launch. I hope it’s a huge success! And thank you. Hey Aztec, will see if we can make that dialogue that you activate after the ride instead of it playing automatically, no promises though, thanks!Thank you, I really appreciate it!

Ah! The classic “but my immersion!” line. Buddy, it doesn't hold a candle to the time-honored tradition of fighting tooth and nail against the inclusion of optional features because they don't sit well with you personally. The word optional was never uttered in this thread until you showed up. And that’s besides the point. What I was shooting down is the hilarious notion that having a female character in a batshit bonkers fantastical game like this without bouncing breasts was “unrealistic” because Nuns in high heels, women enemies with electric guitars in the 1800s, and enemies that attack you with poker chips the size of a house are fine but it’s the lack of jiggling tits where we draw the line with the “it takes me out of the game” bullshit.

In August is when they expect shipments of physical rewards are going to be sent out except for the PC physical version. They said they’re waiting until the whole roll out of the game is done before sending out those so don’t expect them anytime soon. You should’ve gotten a Steam code on day one because of reasons.

Good update overall but did they just announce Iga’s backpack DLC was being delayed even more for consoles? It should’ve been out for PS4 and XB1 today. I get delaying the Switch’s seeing how poor that port is but why delay the other console’s as well when the dlc has been out for 3 weeks on PC now?
I don’t mean to sound entitled or whiny. I genuinely like this update and overall I’m satisfied with how things are turning out and my 28 hour save backs this up but, man, has there been too many bumps on the road of release.

The map is objectively the biggest Iga has ever had in a game, what’s this bullshit about the map not feeling “big”? And that’s just counting rooms but each of Bloodstained’s rooms is a time least 30% bigger than a SotN room because of the higher resolution and change from 4:3 to 16:9.
And it’s took me 28 hours on my first run to complete the game with a 100% map and I still have a ton of things to do and trophies to unlock so I don’t buy that it feels incomplete.
This game is NOT without criticism but I’ll be damned if one of those is because the map felts small or the game incomplete. Fuck that.

You’ve played way too many DoA games. See, I don’t buy into that. It’s all part of making games more immersive. Granted, it’s not as bad as Miriam’s prior hair being a stiff helmet, but breasts typically bounce. There’s nothing inherently perverted about it. The same way the leaves flutter in the wind, the same way waves crash, breasts bounce. Ah! The classic “but my immersion!” line. Ok so in real life breasts without proper support do bounce. But I’ve been watching a lot of the Women’s World Cup (and have been a longtime MMA fan of both sexes) and I’ve yet to see any breasts bouncing there despite their constant running, jumping, punching and tripping in their respective sports. Also this is a fantasy game where our heroine can go through walls, summon a giant glass hand, and get magical eye, skin, dress, hair and haircut changes done by discount Edward Scissor Hands, so excuse me while I chuckle at you being okay with all that but then it’s the lack of bouncing mammaries that “takes you out of the game”. What’s a strange place to draw your line of what you do and don’t buy in this crazy-ass game. In the real world we live in unsupported boobs that bounce all around when doing intense physical activities are extremely painful for women, that’s why they invest in these magical things we call sports bras and why you never see jiggly funbags at the Olympic Games and whatnot. So let’s drop this “it’s not realistic” crap when it’s the other way around that’s not realistic. I just beat a giant gambler monster who tried to kill me with poker chips the size of a house but that’s not something that breaks your “immersion” right? If you want to see bouncing titties just say so, these excuses are just lame. Look maybe Miriam is wearing a state of the art 19th century sports bra made with alchemy/magic/shards, who cares! This game is freaking awesome. PS: Congrats to the American women‘s team that made the Word Cup final! Excited for Sunday.

I've played it on PC and X-Box and it definitely plays better on my PC. The X-Box version loads slowly and has a tendency to crash when going back and forth between Dominique and Johannes. I've been playing for 20 hours on a base PS4 and, *knocks on wood*, have never experienced a single crash. A few droppped frames here and there (hardly anything very noticeable) and some few seconds of loading between some screens but nothing that bad. I also never played the game before the 1.02 update was out so maybe that helped. Is the Xbox One already enjoying the "day one" patch? Last I heard they were delaying it to avoid the treasure glitch. Did they release that yet? Im not talking about the 1.0.0.4 patch that only had some localization stuff.

I can’t fathom how you could back a project like this for $60 and then completely forget about it.
I hope you can resolve this issue but man are you late to this party. We were repeatedly reminded of platform change deadlines over and over again and you had plenty of chance to request that.
There’s always the option of Windows on Mac emulation right? Dunno how well Bloodstain runs in that situation but we know from these very forums that something similar except with Linux works wonderfully though.
