one of the best things that a castlevania or igavania game can offer is the music Michiru Yamane is a very talented lady that has composed soundtracks for multiple castlevania titles since SOTN and has composed the soundtrack for other games like skullgirls, all you need is to hear 1 or 2 tracks of that game to inmediately recognize Michirus work in fact not long ago i read her sister did the voice work for some of her tracks and if thats true then im sure Skull heart arr...something was also voiced by her.
ok back to topic! theres really nothing to discuss only some opinion sharing im not really a big fan of the traditional castlevania tracks such as simon theme or bloody tears so my top 10 is more Michiru yamane.
1) The Colossus - Order of Ecclesia : Shit got serious! that was the first thing i said when i heard this amazing track fit for a final stage before the final battle. Amazing, glorious and colossal.
2) Eneomaos Machine Tower - Curse of Darkness : tick tock, tick tock. Beautiful just beautiful but most importantly PERFECT. second if not the best track in the game.
3) The Lost Painting/Portrait - Symphony of the Night : Calming, mysterious, Beautiful. the Harmony of despair version its my personal favorite but even before that one i was in love with the original
4) Prayer - Symphony of the Night : the only piece of music that can reach my soul in less than 20 seconds.
5) Garden Forgotten by Time - Lament of innocence : if i ever have a big house with a big garden with huge plants il make it play this soundtrack whenever someone enters
6) The Hidden Curse - Portrait of ruin : not only the soundtrack but the stage where this track played were perfect. now i cant see the sunset without remembering this track giving me an eerie feeling of the many things that can occur before the night comes in.
7) Aiolon Cave temple - Curse of Darkness : at first strange but calm then the magic of the track hits in. a mystical track where you can feel all the emotions that the game is trying to proyect, all the sorrow of the cursed can be easily interpreted.
8) Luxurious Overture - Bloodstained : SO LUXURIOUS! A true welcoming to the majestic structure filled with valuable objects and beautiful architecture. and ofc an invatitational to drink a cup of Rage Wine with cursed demons.
9) Wandering the Crystal Blue - Order of Ecclesia : So calming and relaxing. the mystery of the secrets and creatures that lie under the sea translated in a single piece of art ahh i can hear the waves....wait whats that (insert saint elmos creepy moaning)
10) Inner Quarters - Aria of Sorrow : I dont know i just like this soundtrack more than the other tracks in AOS and DoS maybe its not the track but the layout .... or the nice ladies that live here. yokoso!! <3 Hyah!
honorable mentions: Requiem for the gods: tbh this is my second favorite in SOTN but i have some bad memories of my childhood with this track Crucifix Held Close: The track is actually short and it wasnt originally composed by miss michiru but i still love it Underground Melodies: Haunted castle remix i laughed hard when i heard this in Dawn of Sorrow. super catchy tune that never fit in the stage it was played but still addictive.

Actually, this is a more interesting topic than usual because a top 3/5/10 "Igavania" music track rules out how everyone always lists Vampire Killer, Bloody Tears, etc. Top 10 songs unique/composed for one of IGA's games makes this a much more interesting category.
And I'd have to get back to you on it lol

of the clasic vania music the only one i dislike or maybe not dislike but i just dont like it that much its vampire killer... yes call me heretic, blasphemous, poser, impure, dirty blood or whatever i cant get to like the most famous track at least not the clasics, Harmony of Despair did a good job with ths one and i almost got addicted to it but heck, even "go getsu fuma!" kicked its ass and i only had to hear it for 4 minutes (thanks to the op Valmanway rushers)
Bloody tears its awesome my personal favorite would be the one in Judgement The beggining - Dawn of sorrow Heart of fire - Aria of Sorrow
i have nothing against the clasics but im more an IGA/Michiru fan since i grew up with RPG games i was not here when Arcades were the thing. if you notice i didnt include music from HoDissonance and Circle of the Moon because their soundtrack.......... its not good enough... at least not for me
i was very happy when i found retro music records in order of ecclesia that was a nice gift for the players and i really licked "wicked child" and "out of time".

There are a number of incredible tracks on almost every IGAvania. My favorites would be Dark Night Toccata (from Lament of Innocence), Order of the Demon (Order of Ecclesia) and Toccata Into Blood Soaked Darkness (Curse of Darkness). They aren't in particular order and there are many more I like, but these three are absolutely glorious and grandiose final boss themes. Toccata into Blood Soaked Darkness is my favorite composition from Michiru Yamane, and one of my favorite boss themes ever. Period.

ah i forgot about toccata darkness.... ITS TO MONSTROUS! sorry i had to bring that cheesy voice acting line. my favorite Dracula boss fight theme.
Curse of Darkness has some of the best tracks and in my opinion the best boss fight themes: Insane Aristocracy also known as young nobleman of madness, legendary belmondo or belmont the legend and ofc Toccata into blood soaked darkness.
so while i was remembering the many tracks that miss Yamane has composed i remembered one in particular composed for a quite peculiar room one of those TOP 10 WTF MOMENTS IN CASTLEVANIA!
o, seriously i dont know how Igarashi and yamane work when they make the music for the game but i can imagine something like this:
IGA: Yamane San we want to introduce this weird room full of chairs into the game but we want to make it as strange looking as posible. Yamane: Hai IGA: So we would like to surprise and confuse the player with something really really weird. Yamane: Hai IGA: Somethng that sounds like it has nothing to do with the game or the dark setting we have for the stage where this room will be found. Yamane: Hai IGA: im counting on you! Yamane: .................Hai IGA: Remember theres a lot of chairs in the room. Yamane: Hai?

Trying to put them in any real order would take me ages, but I'll post mine with a caveat that I wont put more than 2 songs per game on the main list otherwise half my list would be from Curse of Darkness and Order of Ecclesia.
1. "An Empty Tome" -Order of Ecclesia Shanoa's theme is my favorite Yamane track. It just really fits the raw determination of Shanoa: she's lost everything and she's storming the Castle anyway. Its a great way story and music work together to create a great moment.
2. "Toccata into Blood Soaked Darkness" -Curse of Darkness This is it. My #1 Dracula boss theme. That organ. Christ almighty that organ. Its just such a cool theme that invokes "Classic Gothic Vampire" and is also a good driving fight theme.
3. "The Gears Go Awry" -Portrait of Ruin. I just REALLY love this theme, its so catchy and atmospheric at the same time. I wish I had something deeper to say about the track than that, but alas "I really like it" is I all I got :3
4. "Anti-Soul Mystery Lab" -Lament of Innocence Techno is something else I'm pretty fond of, and this song blends gothic atosphere with a catchy synth rhythm. I love it, even though I know a lot of people dont.
5. "The Tragic Prince" -Symphony of the Night Everyone loves this song, and I'm no exception. Its a great rock piece, and it feels right in place alongside the more subdued songs on the list thanks to the synth segments between the guitar riffs, which blend together very well.
6. 'Dracula's Tears" -Dawn of Sorrow Here's one I dont see mention much and that surprised me. That opening punch followed by the catchy beat are so great! Easily my favorite song from the Sorrow games.
7. "Lament of Innocence" -Lament of Innocence Oh man, Leon's theme. Like Shanoa's, I think it really captures the tragedy of Leon's character, but this one is much mre melancholic than the more heroic tones of Shanoa's theme thanks to the piano, but it still manages to be a driving adventure song and maintain its sad overtones.
8. "Dracula's Castle" -Curse of Darkness Atmosphere. Pure, amazing atmosphere. This is exactly the kind of song I'd expect to hear when exploring Dracula's castle. The piano and keyboard combine to make this great oppressive build up before we go full on scary and I LOVE it.
9. "Rhapsody of the Forsaken" -Order of Ecclesia A lot of people bring this up when it comes to great music from Ecclesia and for good reason, its a fantastic song. The piano and bass section keeps the drive going while the synth swells around it and its just so easy to bob your head up and down like an idiot with this song going.
10. "Invitation of a Crazed Moon" -Portrait of Ruin its time to get FUNKY. I admit this one is really on here for nostalgia, since Portrait was my first IGA Castlevania and this song was my intro to a game that. while not my FAVORITE of the bunch anymore, is still very close to my heart. I do think this is a great introductory tune, that bass is just sexy and its jsut so catchy.
Honorable Mentions (no Caveats here, there be plenty of songs I love and want to at least mention): > "Ebony Wings" -Order of Ecclesia > "Pitch Black Intrusion" -Dawn of Sorrow > "Forest of Jiggramunt" -Curse of Darkness > "Requiem of Star Crossed Night" -Order of Ecclesia > "Jail of Jewels" -Portrait of Ruin > "Baljhet Mountains" -Curse of Darkness > "Top Floor" -Aria of Sorrow > "Wandering Ghosts" -Symphony of the Night > "Belmont The Legend" -Curse of Darkness > "Dance of Illusion" -Symphony of the Night > "Chapel Hidden in Smoke" -Order of Ecclesia > "Mortvia Aqueduct" -Curse of Darkness > "House of Sacred Remains" -Lament of Innocence > "Rainbow Cemetery" -Symphony of the Night > "Wandering the Crystal Blue" -Order of Ecclesia > "Floating Garden" -Aria of Sorrow > "Garden Forgotten By Time" -Lament of Innocence > "Garibaldi Temple" -Curse of Darkness
(Like I said, I needed that caveat for the main list, there are a LOT of tracks in Curse and Ecclesia I really love)

See, soundtrack to me means the entire work for a title. Individual works are music tracks (aka sound tracks; the contracted single-word form came into public usage due to the release of "soundtrack albums" in the Forties).
Honestly, I don't think I can or should pick favorite individual tracks from throughout the series as there are WAY too many. However, if you want me to pick soundtracks, which titles have the best overall works in the background, I'd actually be tempted to side with the Pachislot games since those three are basically best-of collections of the tracks from throughout the series.

Oh, jeez... So I can't do a Top 15 list? Not even a Top 25, or Top 100?
In all seriousness, there are a lot of Castlevania tracks that I love listening to. I've never truly been able to deem 3, 5, or 10 tracks as my "Top" tracks.
Ah well, here goes a random assortment ("Top 10") of Castlevania tracks I listened to recently, including from games I've replayed. In no particular order.
#1. "Clock Tower" ~ Aria of Sorrow
#2. "Holy Cross Obsessed by the Moon" (remix of "Top Floor") ~ Lament of Innocence OST
#3. "Demon Castle Pinnacle" ~ Dawn of Sorrow E3 2005 Trailer (It's a shame an extended version was never released)
#4. "Underground Melodies" ~ Dawn of Sorrow
#5. "Rhapsody of the Forsaken" ~ Order of Ecclesia (orchestral remix)
#6. "Hard Won Nobility" ~ Order of Ecclesia
#7. "Mortvia Aqueduct" ~ Curse of Darkness
#8. "Fate to Despair" ~ Circle of the Moon
#9. "To the Center of the Castle" ~ Harmony of Dissonance
#10. "Wicked Child" ~ Castlevania (VRC6 arrangement)

Not in order...
The Beginning - DoS - Sounds dramatic and sets the mood for a cracking adventure. Energy levels rise!
Condemned Tower - DoS - Best of the tower tunes in my opinion. It led to one of the memorable boss fights in Castlevania.
Cursed Clock Tower - DoS - Makes me feel as though I want to be in the divine company of a posse of beautiful oriental ladies to pamper me and feed me grapes.
Dance Of Sadness - PoR - For some reason, I always think of a femme fatale suddenly taking pity on her male target as she's about to kill him.
The Pinnacle - DoS - Possibly my favourite track. Seems to bring out the inner fire and inspire the will to conquer.
Castle Entrance - SotN - This instrumental brings out a broad streak of heroism from within. Charges the soul.
Castlevania N64 Intro (Malus violin) - Not an Igavania. Even though a bit on the short side, I'd want this played at my funeral. Beautiful, haunting and poignant.
Gaze Up At The Darkness - PoR - Whenever I hear this, I tend to imagine Spiderman rapidly swinging through the streets on his web and reaching dizzy heights.
Door Of Holy Spirits - SotN - This tune cranks up the tension and leaves the impression that something potentially nasty is lurking around every corner.
Lost Painting - SotN - Listening to this magical tune does wonders for the mindset. The type of music that could soothe a breaking heart.

Mines basically a grab bag of tracks from SOTN and Lament of Innocence, very tough for me to pick.
Dance of Pales might be at the top because it really transports me to the 1700's when listening to it.
