Will this forum have a "no spoiler policy" the first couple of days once the prequal + Bloodstained is released? Or should the gamers, that would like to get all the surprises just avoid the forums until finished the game?
The spoiler filter is here, but sometimes people let things "slip" anyway. Will the admins perhaps be extra active here, correcting and telling people about it being spoilers?
And if this kind of policy is here, lightweight or not, how long do you guys expect to see spoiler-tags being used (for the purpose of keeping the story and features hidden), or in topics?
The best way to ensure we don't spoil the game for people new two Bloodstained even 5 years from now is to use spoiler tags.
I can create a forum category with it's own board list and set it to where only certain groups can see it or the posts in it. This includes recent posts and search results. Even so though, people have different levels of what they are expecting to be ok to spoil. So, even in a case like that, use spoiler tags with a note about what it's going to spoil before letting out some info that could be harmful to a player's experience.

yeah, i generally say if it involves story, boss drops, hidden areas, secrets, or place names that reference story events (like if you defeated drac in cv 1 and you found out frankenstein was the big bad all along and the final area was listed as madmans dynamo but everything about the marketing and promotion put drac up as your big bad) then yeah, definitely spoilertag it

We can have entire threads that are labeled as containing spoilers, which I think is fine. So long as the viewer has a clear understanding of what they're getting into before they read, I think we're good. I also think that may be preferable to just the spoiler tags alone, because they're too enticing to click...
It would be in everyone's interest to discuss about the game in private... After that, if people check spoiler threads and complain about it, there won't be much to defend them/for them to defend themselves, if:
- We post a spoiler tag, preferably at the beginning of a thread, or as an icon next to a thread's title (but yeah, curiosity killed the cat); - We hide sensitive information (communication via pm for all enthusiasts would be great); - We keep a separate zone they access still, despite all risks; - They were spoiled via other peeps.
The same goes for walkthroughs. About people complaining about Let's Play videos bring spoilers, it's also almost unavoidable by then.

Well, a search is asking for it and I never use that "recent" feature myself, so I guess I don't commonly think of that. I think that topics especially for/that guarantee spoilers will be happening a bit once the game is out, though, and it'll be quite a pain for folks to spoiler tag an entire story discussion thread for every post.
Indeed, information going uncontrolled even with spoiler tags set is unavoidable.
I'll do my best on not going trippy. I also know that everyone (including those who'll get Bloodstained early) will progress at different paces. That said be ensured I am not one to run at others and go "Hey, did you see THAT?! So Cool!!". I'd rather keep the excitement for myself.
...And once again, the idea of a specialized discussion room for that purpose would truly get my support.

A specialized Discord room for it, even better, maybe.
Otherwise, I would maybe just discourage use of the "Recent" feature. Eventually (and even now, if you ask me), there's just too much to be able to actually read everything. Some things you might otherwise really care about, you would skim over in that long string of "oh God there's this much stuff that's new".

I actually use "Recent posts" pretty much exclusively, too. It's very easy to skim over everything once or twice a day to see what's been going on since I was gone, what people are talking about, if there are any issues anyone's been having, etc. So yeah, definitely be careful to use spoilers liberally. We even have a button on the quick reply screen to make it easy ;D
