Yeah, it's good to discuss stuff and get feedback. But I also want to avoid/be wary of instances when just one person pushes other people into supporting ideas/features with loaded questions and whatnot. An ARMY OF NIGHT.... CultJust like that one King of the Hill episode where Luann joins the cult posing as a sorority! "Are y'all with the cult?" "It's not a cult. It's an army of the night made up of Kickstarter backers and we discuss things like shaders, shields, the size of Miriam's-" "This is it."

crocodile Remember all those times I tried to explain what I wanted out of this game visually but couldn't get it across well? I used Lament of Innocence numerous times as an example but people still seemed confused for what i meant. Now I have examples I can actually use from this game itself. I kept using this image to say it needs a more textured and darker tone to the visuals, much more detail which will give it a less dollhouse ( yes I'm bringing the term back) look. What we got originally was something like this - It looked overly simple, which gives it a more cartoony, less threatening, less dark feel to it. It didn't hit that IGAVANIA tone I was hoping for..... BUT then something magical happened. The images they revealed today fixed my issues with the look instantly, and capture the vibe Lament Of Innocence has perfectly in a 2.5d space. Now people can see what I mean when I say a gritty, more textured, more dark, less cartoony feel. They nailed it. It's almost like Lament of Innocence is turned into a 2.5d game. Now I no longer have to try an explain myself, the bloodstained team explained it for me Yes this does a great job of illustrating the point you were trying to put across earlier. It's a fair point - I just feel some of us had trouble understanding what you were trying to say before. All that being said, I never really feared that the backgrounds in the final game would look just like those shown in the first shader previews. I think I said that too but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, the game seems to be moving in a great direction so let's keep in good spirits

I do like the new look seems much more detailed than the previous incarnation. My only hope is that it just doesn't blow the development time off the charts because it looks like alot of work.

Yeah, if every area is as detailed as the last shader screenshot, well...we can most likely deconfirm March 2017 for sure.

They should of course take their time I just hope it doesn't turn into another Mighty no. 9 situation where it is delayed three times and nearly 2 years from the original planned release date.

I'm actually going to guess it will be a fall 2017 release, which is really great. If a game doesn't get delayed over a year then I'm good about it.

I rather them take longer and we get a game with the detail it deserves, then rush out a game and the environments, layout, and detail take a hit for it.
At least a lot of people will get to play a beta to tide us over.

Yeah word of fangamer is ks requires a date when setting up stuff so 3/17 is nowhere near the actual release date since we destroyed all the stretch goals, so its done when its done ^3^b

Yes and i hope they give us a beta version soon as possible, i still believe they will release it very close to the final release date (not the prediction, the real expected release date), however i will keep saying that it would be better to release the beta earlier, not just because i want to play it so bad, also to give feedback about several things about the game so they still have a long time to change/fix things, cause if a "major" change prove to be better they would still have enough time to do so. Although some gameplay video releases could help much as well, who knows.

During these, the devlopment team make some tests about one exact domain (gameplay, graphics, latency...), the tests are thematic (testing a new map, a specific character...). I think these phases would be way more accurate before opening a restricted (backers) beta.

So they will go with the full 3D look on 2D 1/2 perspective after all? How disappointing, I wanted it to look as close as the art that IGA drew as much as possible.

That was the plan all along they've stated as much from the beginning. I think they've done a damn fine job replicating a 2d vibe. The character model almost looks like the concept art.

I mean that was the gameplan since day one. Did you miss that on the Kickstarter page? So they will go with the full 3D look on 2D 1/2 perspective after all? How disappointing, I wanted it to look as close as the art that IGA drew as much as possible. That was the plan all along they've stated as much from the beginning. I think they've done a damn fine job replicating a 2d vibe. The character model almost looks like the concept art. I'm inclined to agree with this. I'm really looking forward to the progress they've made in the past 6 weeks and now that the final shaders are in place.

Let's not dog pile.
Edit for clarification: This isn't a dog pile yet, but let's prevent one. The rhetorical question sounded like the start of one.
