Happy Halloween, everyone! Episode 2 of the Bloodstained Community Broadcast is ready. This is our Halloween episode with a very special surprise guest! You can listen to it on YouTube, Wordpress, iTunes, Stitcher, or Feedburner. Please note that it takes some time for iTunes to update. If you subscribe through iTunes, the episode should show up for you immediately though, even if it hasn't appeared in the Apple Store yet. Let me know what you think about the new music levels. I made them a bit more quiet than last time and would like some feedback. Hey, so podcasts are your thing now right? Well, my buddies over at PixelTunes Radio gave us a shout out on their Facebook Group and during their new episode, so please do me a solid and head over there to tell them thanks. Every year they do special Halloween episodes dedicated to Castlevania and Spooky tunes. You should check them out! Jredd, the composer of our theme has been making great music with Relay Bros, so you might want to give that a listen. Man, our guest was so good on this episode. I'm afraid it's going to be tough to top!

Whoa, the guest turned into Three Dog during the first 45 seconds there. UPDATE: Heavy dose of reality there regarding David Hayter and the SAG strike. I'm a little bit worried because I like David Hayter and his involvement in Bloodstained was a big draw for me, but I appreciate the transparency. UPDATE 2: Oh wow, that conversation about Konami, mobile, the future of microtransactions, and how much impact our dollars have. Reality is all over this podcast tonight. UPDATE 3: Yay for plugging Indivisible! Lab Zero goes the extra mile for their fans and their work, and they may not be a company if their campaign fails. They need all the support they can get. I also find it highly appropriate that the reality bombs are being dropped on the Halloween episode. So scary. UPDATE 4: No more gaming events/shows for IGA unless it's something big so he can focus on Bloodstained. Totally fair and understandable. But just for fun, this is how I imagined Ben making that announcement.

Just finished the episode. Ben was a great guest and I liked how transparent he was. I just wish the announcement of him being on the podcast was handled differently.
With the way the thread asking for questions was worded and how coy it seemed, I wasn't sure if that was a "just for fun" thing similar to the "Messages for IGA" thread or if it was a real thing for the podcast, and when I asked just to be sure I never got an answer. It also felt like a missed opportunity to spread the word about Ben Judd being a guest through social media and direct traffic to the forums as the official avenue for questions.
Instead of asking "If you could ask Ben Judd one question, what would it be?" and leaving it at that, I would've rather seen Ben's guest appearance either be kept as a total surprise, or used more direct wording such as "We've got Ben Judd lined up for the podcast. Send your questions. This is not a drill, this is real" and let social media hype/word-of-mouth from fans build naturally.
Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful Ben was able to take some time out of his schedule to stop by, I did like how Mike grabbed old questions/observations from the forums and asked about those, and I'm not trying to go "boo, bad admin!" or anything like that. I'm just trying to view the situation as a way to improve things in the future.

I'm assuming it was a not-entirely-for-sure thing that happened to just work out that he could be around. Even if that's not the case though, I think Mike was able to express all the concerns/topics that I remember in the last couple of months.
This podcast killed my sleep lol. I was determined to get more than 5 hours last night, but this was too interesting. I didn't quite finish it though, will go back. It's really great how Ben feels like just one of us...probably because he basically is. Man, Phantasy Star 2...I had just gotten a new song from that on OCRemix lol.

Yeah, Brent is on the right track about some of my reasons. I really wanted to gather more questions without disappointing anyone if our schedules didn't work out. I dropped your name in there too.

After having listen to the podcast now I'm really curious as to what these announcements will be. Both with his other projects and what the update for bloodstained will bring.

Great episode once again Thanks Mike for your hard work and for putting this podcast series together. Side Notes:To be honest, once you have a topic like "what do you want to ask Ben Judd?", you kind of let the cat out of the bag:P It's a shame the topic wasn't open/around for longer or a bit more direct in its wording so that we could get more questions in but I'm not going to beat a dead horse. I can understand scheduling constraints making something like this tricky. I appreciated all the answers Ben Judd was able to provide - a lot of strong and solid insight. Also appreciated the update with what was going on with IGA and it sounds like pre-production is going well. So I guess we can expect an update within in a week? Sounds like some big/big-ish news is to drop. Or at least a more robust update that those of the past. I'm really looking forward to getting to meet and interact with the new community manager. Will give me the impetus to start up those Design Review Summaries again (though there are a few subjects I'd like more discussion on before a summation). As an aside, look who recently visited Inticreates...... Nah he's too busy with his own stuff and though he knows Japanese, he never struck me as fluent or particularly adept at it Wonder why he's there though. With regards to other guests, it will probably be hard to top Ben since most of the prominent figures involved in this game don't speak English. Maybe David Hayter, Robert Belgrade, this new community manager and maybe more people at Fangamer are the only people fluent in English I can think off the top of my head to interview. The sound mixing was better in this episode. I was better able to hear you and the guest. I'd personally still argue against having music playing while people speak but since that appears to be something you want to keep, I'm glad you improved the sound mixing. I'm glad that IGA appears to be giving Indivisible a look, it always seemed like the type of game to interest him. I hope he can give it a shoutout in an update. In case anyone here is not aware of what it is, head over here in the Kickstarters forum to read up on it. Campaign link is here.

>snip to save space< Nah he's too busy with his own stuff and though he knows Japanese, he never struck me as fluent or particularly adept at it Wonder why he's there though. "Hey IntiCreates, sorry I couldn't find the office earlier, I was too busy ignoring the directions you gave me and blaming Japan at my frustration. Anyway, Danny Sexbang just texted me saying he wants to share a story about the time his dad came to his spelling bee. Those things are pretty entertaining. Let me get him on Skype and I can translate." But in all seriousness, I'm guessing Arin is participating in some promo stuff for IntiCreates's next project. Ben really is going to be a tough act to follow. But for future guests, there's also whoever gets cast as Miriam's VA. She's gotta be on the show at some point. Maybe some of the people behind the community/youtuber backer clans could be guests too.

Unless I finally get to talk with Wiggychiggy, Goob, Gunlord or one of our other great forum friends first the next guest will be Matt Papa. Once I have a schedule somewhat set I will post a questions thread for Matt. He's PR for IntiCreates and an assistant producer.

Geez Mike, imo this podcast is about as satisfying as an update lol. I feel like I could get by on just these. Fangamer, Ben, Inti...Yamane/Yamada? Igarashi? Obama? lol WHERE DOES IT END
I'm glad (and I'm sure you are) this became a thing after all. Links to these should be directly on the web site, too, I think.

Hi, thanks for taking the time for making this podcast! I saw Mr. Judd in a couple video during the kickstarter campaign and I thought he was awesome for speaking japanese so fluently, though I had no clue who he was. But now after listening to him discuss what he thinks about his projects, the people he's been working with and the industry as a whole, I can't help but admit that this guy is all-around awesome. I admire his passion for his job and the medium in general, I think we would really get along if we were to meet for a beer He's basically doing with his life what I always wished I had done. He's a hero in a sense, a gamer's hero. About his next "super secret" project that he talked about, "something that hasn't been seen in a long time with rpg elements", I'm really hoping for some Final Fantasy Tactics look-a-like, or maybe some Ogre Battle style warfare or something.... those games were epic back then, no reason they wouldn't be epic today since it's not about graphics for those types of games.. oooor could be something totally new to me, i have no clue, but i'll keep my eyes open for sure
