Yep, I hope the winning characters of the Smash Ballot are announced. I don't think Cloud was one of them. Sakurai had to have been planning to include him since before the Ballot. I remember someone mentioning in the past Sakurai claimed that it takes a total of 6 or so months to work on characters move sets for SSB4. The fact Cloud was revealed so soon after the end of the Ballot makes it obvious he is not getting in as a result of the ballot. |

I agree...unless they have an Immortals division within the dev team where the programmers work until they die and then a new one takes their place. |

Smash broadcast predictions.
Adam from Metroid: Other M. His moveset will be comprised of him yelling "You're not authorized to do that!" and shutting off parts of the movesets of his opponents.
Tingle from The Legend of Zelda. His Final Smash will be him extorting ludicrous amounts of money from you to decipher charts.
Then, the character that the entire Direct builds up to will be... Chibi Federation Soldier from Metroid: Federation Force.
At the end of the broadcast, you'll see a silhouette of Solid Snake. Then you'll hear a voice say "Sorry, you're going to have to keep waiting.", then the image lights up and it's just Sakurai cosplaying as Snake, you'll then be told that Konami wouldn't play nice and Snake isn't getting into Smash 4.
There would be so much rage. Tee hee.
More seriously, I want a release date for Cloud and the Inklings confirmed for Smash. I have no immediate desires for anyone else, but it would be nice to get Wolf back. I'm genuinely giddy for the broadcast.

(for some reason his silhouette is the same shape as Snake's) But...it's not the Kojuro you're thinking of. No, Nintendo didn't collaborate with Koei-Tecmo again. It's the Right Eye of the Dragon, from Sengoku BASARA!!! (Yes. Nintendo collaborating with Capcom didn't stop at Ryu) It will again be priced DLC...then Nintendo will pull a Capcom, and reveal that character-data for Kojuro was already in the game this whole time!!!  |

Adam could have been a cleaver addition. With more or less open slate for abilities he could be designed fairly decently. With his quotes for his taunts.
I mean a freeze gun could be over powered but would put an extra threat in battle.

Basic human empathy kicks in and I'm happy for the people who are happy that Bayonetta got in, I guess. But for me, she's un-hype. So, she and Lucas will be the two DLC characters I don't buy.
Corrin and Cloud at least look real fun to play.
Cloud will be released on the eShop "later today", but he's not up just yet. I'll check back around 8 or 9 PM. Hopefully by then some of the crowd furiously checking and rechecking the eShop for him will have thinned out a little.

I'm not really feeling the Bayonetta hype either, but it's kinda fun to see people get excited over her.
I expected the direct would go into a little bit more detail about how Cloud got in other than just "he was the most popular request", but I'm glad it didn't. That would've probably taken up too much time, feel out of place in comparison to the rest of the announcements, and I think the internet is overthinking the whole situation when it really boils down to "this character is in because Sakurai thought it'd be a good idea."

I was REALLY surprised that Bayonetta won the ballot. I thought Shovel Knight or King K. Rool would have won from how vocal people were about them, but I only remember seeing like, one person voting for Bayonetta. As well as reading about Mr. Kamiya hating Smash fans for asking him to but Bayonetta into Smash.

Though I believe Sakurai has a 'the character must have originated as a video game character' rule. Though R.O.B. is a sorta violation of that rule.

It was brought to my attention on a different forum that Cloud has been released now.
I just finished the buying process, and he and the Midgar stage are downloading for me now.
eShop is moving a bit sluggishly for me, probably due to high traffic, but at least I can navigate it.

I've had to buy the digital version of smash bros, as I left my physical copy at my old home, and I don't want to wait till I get it back.
So Smash Wii U has been downloading and I decided to watch Die Hard in the meantime (still one of the best movies of all time). Of course, I could just buy the DLC on 3DS but I can't settle for anything less than those crisp polygons.
