I have a physical cart for the switch with update 1.01. My main issue is with input lag. Aside from the general issue everyone is having, I seem to be having specific issues with whip weapons, it happens with all whips but the Ambivalence whip in particular is giving me an issue where sometimes while attacking in the air it causes Miriam to lock in the "charge" animation and the whip attack never actually comes out by the time I land, regardless if I just tapped the attack button or actually held it to try and switch the weapon's elemental property. With other whips the charge animation isn't notable but all the same the attack sometimes just won't come out at all.

Greetings,
I was kickstarter backer for a Switch physical copy. Playing with the 1.01 update.
After the first boss all the backgrounds were spliced out horizontally, and the music was dropped out and not right. And the rumble was stuck permanently on.
Overall movement just feels horrible, laggy, delayed.
I've waited 4 years to enjoy this game and want to enjoy it to the fullest and after watching my brother play Rotn on PS4, I am extremely soured on my experience on switch, to the point I don't even want to play it because I know how much better its going on PS4. I already paid $100 for this game and would really like to not have to pay another $40 just to get a polished stable build. I understand the position the devs are in is a tough one, and I know they are working hard. I really do not want to have to wait any longer than I already have to enjoy this game. It is poised to be my favorite game of all time. I want to be able to play and enjoy it now before I get spoiled and have to wait even longer. Would there be any way I could get help towards the purchase of a PS4 download code? It would have only been another $20 to get a digital copy included as an OG backer.
When WiiU got dropped, I didn't know if I was going to get a switch (nintendo NX at that point), so on my backer survey I had changed my platform to PS4 and only moved it back over to switch before the deadline, after I had gotten a switch.
I feel like giving another $20 to play on the platform I want to play on would be more than fair. 4 years of waiting excitement and build up only to be saddened, upset, and let down that I just picked the wrong console. It just such a bummer and let down.
Thank You to the Dev team working so hard on trying to make it right.

So far I have played around 5 hours and reached teleport of Twin Dragon's Tower. So far there's two disruptive things:
1. At Livre Ex Machina, there's one room that take about 15 seconds to load everytime 2. At Twin Dragon's Tower, it goes really slow at moments
Some minor issues are that text and speech aren't always at synch and animations feels too slow, also the quality seems being somewhat blurry. Otherwise some slowdowns happen sometimes and sometimes loading take little too long, but nothing too bad. I haven't had single game crashes so far.
Haven't played or watched videos of any other versions, so don't know about differences.
I have physical version with 1.01 update

My play-through has pretty much halted because of a glitch that makes the zoomed in camera placement on Miriam out of wack during the Twin Dragons boss battle. It has occurred in another area but it's at its most distracting here. Most of the time, I can only see one of the dragons or just a little bit of both. The camera crops everything so poorly that if I crouch, I will literally be out of frame. All of this plus input lag makes this fight extremely more difficult than it needs to be.
EDIT: Issue seemed to resolve itself after I unequipped all of my armor and re-equipped them. I guess it was the convex glasses lol

I just experienced a crash when trying to examine a bookcase. It was in the Garden of Silence, after around 3 hours of total playtime. I just walked into a small room and pressed up to examine the bookcase, and the game crashed. I had been playing for maybe 30 minutes, but I had kept the game in sleep mode ever since starting it up for the first time, if that matters. I can live with a crash or two, but I really hope this doesn't become a recurring thing throughout the game.
EDIT: I just had a second crash after keeping the game in sleep mode for a couple of hours and then entering a boss door right after turning it on. This is the second crash within just 20 minutes of playtime or so. I had so much faith in this game up until now despite what everyone else said, but this is worrying me.

I gave up on the Switch version after not too long but I did experience crashes while reading the hints/input commands from bookcases in the early game.

Greetings 505 Games,I am yet another disappointed customer that purchased the Nintendo Switch version of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, however, I DO appreciate your prompt response to the situation by deciding to focus more resources on addressing various issues. I have over 40 hours playing this game, and here's what I have to report:------------------------------------------------ Game: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (v1.01) Platform: Nintendo Switch Format: Digital Download------------------------------------------------ LIST OF NOTABLE ISSUES THAT I'VE ENCOUNTERED IN MY 40-HOUR PLAY EXPERIENCE:- In Arvantville, after playing for a while, when I talk to the NPCs in the area (especially Johannes and Dominique), the game drops frames and lags. If the game is in this dropped frame state, and I'm working with Johannes, the game has a chance to crash. It has crashed on me twice in this very same fashion.
- Reading any bookshelf will cause the game to drop frames and lag, which could also lead to a crash.
- In the Tower of the Twin Dragons, there are apparently frames dropped while traversing the huge tower; the most significant drop in frames is during the boss fight.
- In the Livre Ex Machina area, there is one specific area where Miriam needs to jump straight on platforms to reach the next area; this area has exceedingly long load times.
- In the Oriental Sorcery Lab, the area near the top of the lab where Miriam's view is blocked by moving Japanese-style shutters causes the game to massively drop frames.
- Many cutscenes also suffer from dropped frames and lag where the audio finishes waaaaay before the sluggish mouth movements do; even the text appears in sluggish tandem.
- When using fast travel points (colored glass portraits/windows), there is still sound even after the glass pieces reassemble. I suspect this is the result of pairing back the amount of glass pieces effects on Switch while not adjusting the original audio to match the visual reduction.
- Regarding the Detective's Eye shard ability, the ring that surrounds Miriam sometimes disappears when entering/loading certain rooms. To be more specific, I noticed this with my fully maxed out (transformed into a Skill Shard) Detective's Eye despite it always being turned ON.
- As for input latency, I understand that the game is 30fps, however, even I felt it. It was most prevalent when using the Flying Sword weapon. If I press the Y button to throw the sword, and then press Y again a few frames before it returns to Miriam, the sword would automatically throw a second time, which shouldn't happen. The sword should only be able to be thrown after it returns to Miriam.
- Some boss battles suffer from dropped frames and lag.
^: The above is all based on my experience with the game, and I'm sure that there are many others that also experienced this. WHAT I'D PERSONALLY LIKE TO SEE IMPROVED:- All above aforementioned issues resolved
- Input latency eliminated
- Significantly improved overall performance of the game (smooth 30fps) - NO MORE SLUGGISH LAG
- Significantly reworked HD textures and improvement to clarity and graphics + parity of effects between TV and handheld modes
- Handheld mode running AT LEAST at a dynamic 600p~720p 30fps (smooth); TV mode running AT LEAST at a dynamic 720p~900p 30fps (smooth)
SPECIAL SUGGESTION:
I don't know if this is feasible, but perhaps you can consider trading off extra initial game loading time ( I'd even wait 5-10 minutes) for some of the above improvements to work well ( maybe this would only be useful for pre-loading higher quality textures and whatnot); this way, we can enjoy this beautiful game even closer to the way that it was intended. Maybe it can be included as an option. Well, in any case, this is my feedback.
I have faith in the development teams involved with this arduous task of further optimizing this version of the game. It really is a brilliant game, and it deserves to get the premium treatment that it deserves no matter the platform. Please take this Switch version out of the dark and into the light!
To 505 Games and all developers involved, thank you very much for your hard work thus far! We are counting on you, and WE WILL WAIT!

Playing the 1.01 Digital release.
The shop takes a few seconds to open, and often cuts to black. Johannes will often stop in place during any shop menu change, not doing his idle stance. This includes the opening line he says.
Also, conversations with him causes the framerate to plummet.
There is an often reoccuring glitch with entering a conversarion in Arantville that causes the screen to only be the top left corner of the room, zoomed in.
In Livre Ex Machina the framerate is very low and the room where you use the right stick to move a platform horizontally over spikes takes about 11-15 seconds to load.
As others have pointed out, you enter this room from the bottom, so after the load most people dont thing to hold jump and fall back down again. The same loadtime issue is also present for the room one block right of it.
Zangetsu's seal papers are blurred to the point of being hard to make out.
Also, the game lacks a way to record 30 seconds of footage. It'd be far more convenient to point out issues with this feature implemented.
In the Andrealphus boss fight, no music played.
I love you guys, your hunger to make an amazing game regardless of console is truly something to be imitated. It puts a lot of large companies to shame. I hope Igarashi continues this amazing series and regardless of current quality, I'm still playing my Switch copy. Because below the technical issues, there is a game designed masterfully.

I have experiencie drop in preformance in the area after the train boss, where the first assasin is, but it's not frecuent.
And the loading times are to long, I think it's about 11 to 1 seconds long, in the area of Live Ex Machina I Think it was, the area that there are two green dragons.
Until now Ihaven't expirience any crash.

Extra points of notice from before (1.01, primarily docked):
- While playing against the gambler boss, he came unstuck from his position and moved up, making it harder to hit him without hitting the spikes. This only happened once, however. - When using the warp mirror twice in succession (once to go to another location, and again to go back to the original one) the music cuts out and won't play again until going to another new area. - Lighting of underwater areas freaks out and flickers when you get near the bottom sometimes.
- When entering any new screen, any asset (environment, NPC, enemy) has a chance of flickering like a stereotypical glitch. Unlike other graphic/texture pop-ins (like the mirror, or lighting/texture in Arvantville), this doesn't appear to be connected to any concrete triggers... It just happens when it feels like it.
- My game crashed without cause while in the middle of farming for Soy Sauce in the Oriental Secret Lab. Enemy overload, perhaps?
- The random words missing in dialogue boxes, while not exactly consistent, do happen well into endgame.
- While talking with Gremory, parts of her model completely disappear when pushed back in the frame for when Miriam is talking.
- I don't think this is a Switch-exclusive issue, but the death screams of the final boss glitch and continue well into the final cutscene... This NEEDS to be fixed because it ruins the ending.
Hoping we can hear an update on this all soon... And, dream as it may be, also see a graphical upgrade at least in the character models. The ship is the biggest graphical hit, and even then it doesn't look *terrible*, but the model textures are by far the most distracting and need some serious de-pixelating.

V1.01 digital docked
I had an issue regarding the glutton train boss that happened twice in which Miriam herself didn't load or is off screen since the fairy familiar flew top left untill completly gone. You can still move but you can't do any damage or prefom any shards to do damage.
The 3rd time miriam did load I switched my settings English Hints off Shards animation off

Switch physical 1.01
In the Forbidden Underground Waterway whenever I go completely beneath the water and everything on the screen is covered in water, the game begins to extremely drop the framerate. Noticed it EVERY time.
Been playing in handheld mode.

(Physical Version) Crashes sometimes when talking to NPCs in Arvantville, but it seems to only crash when the game is on for longer than an hour or two as resetting the file (not closing out of the game) (most of the time) fixes the visual glitches which usually occur before the game crashes. Tower of Twin Dragons crashes the game when an extended period of time is spent in the revolving outer portions (was trying to get Scythe Mite shard at the time and the game would crash while waiting for them to appear (sometimes after trying to return to the save after getting the shard)). (~Might have to do with loading too many objects or enemies/bloodstains is my assumption).
Loading time in one vertical transition in Livre Ex Machina area is 10-15 seconds and Arvantville hub takes a bit of time to load sometimes. Otherwise most areas take 5-7 seconds to load which is acceptable overall.
When facing Gebel which causes a bad ending (to get 117th Demon compendium entry), defeating Gebel pops the notification of a new entry, but when reloading the game the entry is still blank (and no medal obtained when it shows the no damage challenge complete visual): instead I've noticed that defeating Gebel actually places 3 tomes extra in the player's inventory (meaning 6 tomes in the inventory when the max is 3): Immunity Tome, Blessed Tome and Ancillary Tome all appear in the inventory and are removed upon visiting O.D. or reloading the file after.

I think dock mode's performance is somehow worse. LOD are lower when overclocked and occasionally when docked, logic broken partially when overclocking the gpu. I am beginning to think the overheat problem is not a joke. Either way this game should move forward to 4.22 with the inevitable release of new gen ports, and to gain massive performance gain on the switch version.
Schade: I think the most complex publishing experience was on Xbox because we launched on the Xbox and the Windows Store, and with the Play Anywhere it was a very complex thing. PS4 was pretty straightforward, but of course, there was the benefit that we had an Xbox build already. And now for the Switch version, it’s even more straightforward because it’s so polished now as a console game that, in quotes, we only have to optimize it for the Switch.
We just migrated to Unreal Engine 4.20 to have the full benefit of the optimizations for Switch; we saw a huge gain in performance so we could even boost up the quality a bit. Now we have consistent 30 frames per second on Switch. And we increased the UI slightly because obviously the UI wasn’t originally made for the small screen, but we were able to squeeze more pixels into it for better readability. We will add some auto-aim assist because it is harder on the Switch right now; we may change the overall balancing simply because of the smaller controllers it is a little bit harder. It’s a tough game already, so we don’t want to frustrate people too much. These are the things we’re working on. Engine-wise you can really tell that Epic put a lot of effort into Unreal 4.20 to make Fortnite run great on Switch, and now everybody who is on 4.20 benefits from that.

Physical copy: After obtaining the double jump I immediately returned to the Galleon, had major slowdowns, long screen transitions, 3 or 4 screens into that area it crashed. The long vertical screen in the library transition posted in a video elsewhere in this thread is also present.
Honestly though, before anything, the input lag NEEDS to be fixed. I've played the steam demo a few times and the downgrade in control is staggering . . . literally.

I have now cleared the game and been collecting stuff, about 35 hours played.
Got two game crashes, both when I started talking to Johannes. Had long gaming sessions and I was running between shop and Johannes with accelerator, and started talking to him very soon as I entered to room.
There's two bugs I got:
1. Sometimes when I teleport from one place to another, the music from previous place is still playing. It will change after I go to next room, so nothing too bad
2. At some rooms I can zip through the walls/ceilings, I recorded one of the zips.
I have physical version with 1.01 update
EDIT: After 2nd game crash, I got two more game crashes soon after, one when read a book and another when I was just running at Garden of Silence

Initially I thought my game was defective since the performance has been so poor and the game has started crashing.
Performance drops - Frame rates slowed down when collecting new shards. The spiral tower was especially bad.
Crashes - has happened three times. Twice while moving through a room and once when attacking an enemy.
Loading Times - Room transitions, specifically when going up can cause issues. I jump and it goes black to load the next room, but Miriam will miss the platform and fall back down causing another load time.

I've put about 18 hours into the game on the Switch, and will try to contribute feedback that I haven't seen on this thread.
A lot of my issues popped up during boss fights.
The first boss fight I ran into issues with was Bathin. He did his Reflector Ray attack, and upon finishing it, he wound up in the wall. While it helped me beat him (he literally couldn't move and remained in his idle stance), this seems pretty game-breaking.
The next boss fight I had issues with was Alfred, but I didn't run into issues until the moment I beat him. I leveled up at the same time that I beat him, and the game froze for a solid two minutes. I was moments away from resetting the game when it finally resumed. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with leveling up at the same time, but I thought I'd mention it.
The third boss fight I had issues with was Bael, and again, the issues didn't pop up until I beat him. There is a static/electricity sound that triggers during the fight (the lizard head/s attack), and when I beat him, Bael had just triggered this attack. So, that static/electricity sound I mentioned played on loop throughout all the end scenes, dialogue, and credits.
I've also had the game freeze a few times while completing quests in Arvantville. If I had just completed a quest and received the reward, the game would freeze for a few seconds, and I would be able to resume playing. However, if I completed the quest, received the reward, and paused immediately after regaining control, the game would freeze indefinitely.
There was also an issue I encountered in the Castle Entrance. It was in the room just before you enter the Dian Cécht Cathedral. This is a taller room with a couple blue chests, two Bone Mortes, two platforms on each side of the room, six golden platforms up the middle, and a hidden room underneath. Basically, I had gotten to the top of the room, and missed a jump. Because of where I fell, I slipped through the geometry and wound up in the hidden room underneath, before I had even discovered the room.
If I think of anything else or run into anything else, I'll add another post!
I love this game and thoroughly enjoyed playing it despite these issues. I know Bloodstained has so much potential, and as a fan I really appreciate you reaching out and requesting feedback in order to provide the best version of the game you can!
