I didn't realize how sluggish and unresponsive it was until I bought it on Xbox and felt the difference. There is a small input delay and I captured it in this video. Buttoms hits at the same time, Xbox on left, Switch on right. The kag and general unresponsiveness would improve the experience tenfold. streamable.com/hig9vIf you'd like more info let me know.

I have a digital version on version 1.01.
Upon start up of Bloodstained:RotN on the menus input latency has been pretty severe, and continues to be through out, at some points feeling like it is actually getting more delayed. At best it feels around 9 frames of input latency, at worst times around 13: seems to be when multiple enemies are on screen in select locations it gets that bad.
In the Dian Cécht Cathedral the rooms just to the right of the Craftwork boss: both had rather serious performance drops when just running through them in portable mode. Maybe slightly under 20FPS, ater restarting Bloodstained: RotN most the FPS issues there had been resolved. The bottom room however has a few small drops on entry in both docked and portable.
Towers of Twin Dragons the left most rotating area has FPS issues throughout in portable mode. From the looks of it mid 20s to higher 20s fluctuating, with the odd freeze frame now and then even when no enemies are on screen but the rotating gears are. In docked from what I can tell FPS seems stable in that area but it has the same freezing portable does.
I had a crash just after that area when I accessed the bookshelf, near the rotating gear you have to aim at. Tried it again, no crash that time.
In Livre Ex Machina, the room above and to the right of a rotating bookshelf (the one that leads to the room with Hyperventilator) it has three Poltergeists, a single Carriage Morte, and a single demon at the far end near two platforms. Once you jump on the platform and up through the hole, the screen goes black for around 15 seconds and if you don't hold jump during the black screen you'll fall back down and have to repeat the process down for around 15 seconds also. Happens in both docked and portable.
Second part of Towers of Twin Dragons after you get double jump: runs at 15-20 majority of the time in docked and from what it looks like, below even the tens in portable near the three gears and the Wolfman below. It also has many areas where it can freeze for a second in both portable and docked, I noticed it was mostly near the gears. I'm not surprised this area runs poorly, the PS4 version struggles here too.
Valac fight runs well, at the end though during the death animation it has terrible FPS, and even froze on me for around 3 seconds.
One final note as I don't see myself playing this version any further until major improvements on input latency, and frame rate. The input latency is so bad that when you attempt to do techniques half the time it eats your input: I noticed this the worst with Flashing Air Kick, since the inputs are relatively fast and it can be used to reach inacessible chests and rooms earlier. Infinite back dash canceling is really hard to do due to the inconsistency of the input delay and FPS, as well as back dash jump canceling large weapons like Great Swords. Short hoping is also near impossible to do consistantly also.
I really wish you guys the best with improving Bloodstained:RotN on the Switch has we all want a good portable version.

The game has crashed 4 times in the prolog from interacting with the first bookcase you come across on the ship. Honestly really disappointed with this release.

Version 1.01
Crashes - I died fighting the first boss on the Minerva ship and was sent back the my last save point. Upon going back up to the boss fight area, the game started to load the cut scene and then crashed sending me back to the Nintendo Switch home screen. I relaunched the game and was able to proceed with the cut scene and boss battle without it crashing again.
Lag or loading issues - in the castle there's a room that you jump up into, but due to how it loads you have to have some luck with how you time your jump or you fall back down into the previous room. I'll update my post with the name and location once I make my way back there on the map.

In the starting village there is occasionaly stutteriing and transition took quite a while. However input lag does not seem too severe.
Gebel cutscene is notically laggy. Further, for general game, using the same model for portraits, cutscenes and gameplay is probably a bad idea but most noticable on the switch. On the other hand the black edge is actually good for the switch version.
HD rumble will not stop once in danger.

The Switch port is very bad, it should have been delayed and few more months of work by a dedicated professional team is needed. The gameplay feels sluggish, clunky, unresponsive..I cannot play with that kind of input lag and slowdown, it totally kills the experience. Yeah, the textures look so much worse as well, but my main problem is the actual gameplay. The best would be to give it to a team with much experience in Switch ports so they can fix this. I am sure it can look better and play with more flow and responsiveness. Please, fix this as the Switch port is very important due to huge number of copies it can sell. This is also important for the future of the franchise.

Please....please...For the love of God PLEASE release a patch to eliminate the sounds she makes when fighting enemies. It's absolutely horrible. It's loud, grating, annoying and extremely repetitive. It's such an issue I simply can't enjoy the game at all. I have absolutely no desire to play it anymore. I lasted five minutes before turning it off in disgust.
Graphics? Beautiful. Music? Beautiful. Level design? Inspired.
But her sound design is AWFUL.
PLEASE release a patch so she DOESN'T MAKE VOCAL CRIES during gameplay. Make it an option in the options menu. PLEASE. I am far from alone on this issue.
I have the PS4 version. I know this is a switch thread but this issue is cross platform. For the love of God fix this. I and so many others have waited years for this and this one issue is ruining the entire experience because it's so painfully annoying to endure.

In order:
Input lag: There is a noticable input lag for Miriam. I think this is makes the 30fps feel worse than it really is. I'm totally fine with 30fps. I just want a responsive game.
Inconsistent textures: some rooms, such as the early room with the red moon in the background, look great. Inside the ship at the start looks horrendous at times. Some models have the most basic of textures that it looks like they've simply been forgotten about, or culled in some sort of last minute effort to get it running on the Switch.
I backed years ago and I'm a little disappointed in the final product for Switch. I'm very happy that you guys are taking it seriously though, and really appreciate the communication and honesty.

I've been playing for a few hours and have already noticed some severe slowdown issues once I hit the room with the blood fountain in the Entrance, and some of the ceiling room exits in Galleon Minerva and the Garden of Silence wind up causing about 5 seconds of loading, which gets worse if I wind up falling back through without landing on a platform.
I'm not thrilled to ask, but would it be possible to switch out my Switch digital copy with one for Steam? The game's in a really rough state with this platform.

Playtime 36 minutes, physical copy.
Performance drops - Opening books from book shelves stutters, killing the boss of the boat also was a huge performance loss
Crashes - I've had two crashes, all after dialogue or cutscene. First one happened when I skipped the gebel cutscene on the boat, second after talking to johannes as they claimed the home base.
I've also had three instances where there's probably a frame buffer issue with the screenshot used for dialogue backgrounds

The textures are so incredibly bad,it's like a 2005 cell phone game, the input lag it's unacceptable it really makes you stop playing and I really want to enjoy the game. I'm feel disappointed because I pay for the game as much as anybody and I want to play igavania on NSW (i have a PS4 too). Please fix the game and I can say that people want these things: 1.BETTER TEXTURES 2.REDUCE INPUT LAG 3.FRAMERATE IMPROVE 4.ADD QUALITY EFFECTS Thanks for the attention I suppose.

Physical cartridge with latest update installed: game crashed completely a few screens to the right of the second save room in the boat. I was going up some platforms to fight 3 squid-looking monsters and the game crashed while I was hitting the first monster. This happened about 1 minute after resuming the game from sleep mode. I was dropped to the Switch home screen and had to restart the game.

Hey, I would suggest either using the volume sliders (specifically for voices) in the options menu or trying Japanese to see if you like that better. Worst case if you won't hear dialogue voices (at all, if you turn it all the way down), but from your post I don't think that will be something you'd mind.
