The thing is, I think I'd take about the same approach to timing the release of information regardless of whether the extra modes and such were ready to go. If it isn't, then the next monthly update is a good time to outline the post-release timeline they're aiming for. If it is, then they have all month to try to keep the conversation going with maybe some interviews or other articles, and then at the end of the month, hit hard with another trailer advertising all the extra modes coming out. That should keep the hype going for the remaining few weeks until release.

am I missing something or does Steam still doesn’t show the price for the game? We’re 6 weeks away and we still don’t have an official word on price so genera preorders can begin? Hmm

A Hat in Time staggered the release of the extra content to keep momentum going as a recent example. It worked out in the end. If Iga added everything at once, that would be mad.

Aztec I don't use Steam a lot, but I have seen that before. Sorry I come across as impatient but I’ve been patient for 4 years. We’re so close and yet I still feel we know so little about the actual launch beyond the date (no price, pre order details, price, content, price, backer slip cover, price, etc).

I think something to keep in mind is that the closer to release the game gets, the less the information coming out is in service to informing us, and the more it is in service of effectively marketing the game. And that's as it should be. The game may not have been possible without us, but without sales, we're back where we started when it comes to a sequel getting made(or whatever Iga wants to do for his next project). I'd love to know every last detail as soon as possible, but if spreading the details out over multiple announcements, trailers, game jouno articles, etc is more effective at keeping non-backers' attention, then that's the right move to make IMO.

Right - one thing we can't lose sight of is the fact that the money we put up as backers was part of the game's funding, as opposed to its profits. The game won't turn a profit until it's sold to a considerable number of non-backers, and a sequel won't be green-lighted until the profits made by the original justify developing the game without backer funding. So, right now, what we gotta do is work to make sure other people buy the game besides us.

I feel like I need to ask... Does it really "matter" what their decisions are at this point? I mean yes we all wanna know what's going on and we all want the game right now in our own specific ways and not all of us will be entirely happy in a couple months no matter what choices have been made. But honestly if we knew exactly how we would be disappointed now, how would complaining about a choice they've made at this point make anything positive change? Most of the stuff that is being asked has already been settled and settled long ago, it sucks they won't tell us till "x-day" but that's just a reality of the situation, and like it or not they have valid and justifiable reasons for doing so. I'm not suggesting that no one should talk about their concerns but I don't feel that getting irritated at the lack of communication is fruitful either.
We got alil more than a month left lets just wait to see what happens before we get upset over anything anymore. #thewaitisreal

Funny thing, I've been seeing comments on Youtube and such that people are saying they are going to buy the game now just based on the new trailer's "confident" tone. They say they like the defiant attitude and that the developers listened to feedback. Bloodstained might get to be a success as a "social movement," regardless of the game itself, which is just bizarre. But if the game benefits from it, it can't hurt, and people might find they actually like the game itself.
It's not that surprising, honestly. Despite all our capacity for logical thinking, humans are often driven emotionally. The "tone" can matter far more than the content itself. Emotion can get you in; it's after that when quality comes into play to keep the players coming back. It's part of the reason people often say if you really want to know how good a game is, look at the sales of its sequel.

Meh, no IGAvanias in it. A true Castlevania Collection has to have everything* post Rondo of Blood in it.. even if Rondo is no IGAvania either, but it was the beginning of the one and only true legacy. * everything besides the Lords of Shadow pulp.

Classic Castlevania games are awesome, Bloodlines is in the collection and that is a superb game. Super Castlevania IV is also great, and there is a reason the anime is based on Castlevania III Dracula's Curse. So while IGA's games are great as well we shouldn't discount the older games just cause they aren't IGAVania's.

So while IGA's games are great as well we shouldn't discount the older games just cause they aren't IGAVania's. It depends on ones personal taste.. from all of the "classic" Castlevanias, Simon's Quest was the only one I liked.. thx to the RPG-lite mechanics it introduced to the series. I would go so far, to call it the blue print for Symphony of the night. However, it's only my personal opinion For me is the neo-classic IGAvania representing the Crème de la Crème, the 42 and the strawberry on the cake above everything else in "Gamindustri".

Bloodlines always looked pretty interesting, and I'm glad that it's finally getting two major rereleases in the form of this collection and the SEGA Genesis Mini. Although, admittedly, the idea of limited continues in a Castlevania game sounds awful. roguedragon05, in your opinion, is the game balanced well with limited continues in mind?

Castlevania Blooodlines shows a password on screen after every level. So if you take a photograph of your screen after every level, you can input the password and continue, even if you run out of continues. It's annoying not not ideal, but you won't lose progress like this.
