Wow, ANOTHER update? VIsual improvements, new Shards? Damn, what a great mouth!
I really liked this update and i want to point out what i could get from it. So, here goes:
HOLY WISDOM ORCHESTRATED, THE CHURCH
The first thing to notice about the first video, showing off Reflector Ray is that what we are hearing is Holy Wisdom, at it's glorious orchestrated version, which made a beautiful song, something close to a masterpiece. This is the Church of Dian Cecht, Bloodless cenario that looked gray and a bit boring in 2017 and it looks brightful and beautiful, like a church made of white marble (it kinda remindes me a bit of Marble Gallery from Symphony of the Night).
I'm stunned by the details, specially the huge number of columns in the background.
REFLECTOR RAY
Reflector Ray, an obvious progression ability, a
Direction Shard that lets you "teleport" from point A to B moving as a light ray, is really creative. Not only it works as a progression ability but can also be used in a tactical way, to flee from a boss attack or something. I wonder what kind of demon gives this shard (if any), my guess would be Bathin, (Curse of the Moon Boss) due to how it moves on fast speed at that game (if it exists on this one).
This region looks like one on 2017 demo, where Miriam could get the old Double Jump
Skill Shard (first, and only, Skill Shard revealed so far). At that time, the Shard was on a "Shard Candlestick", a candlestick you could break to pick up a Shard. Something i don't even know if it will still exist on this game.
JOJO POSE
The only reason for this picture to be here is because Miriam is doing a Jojo pose, something that the 2018 Demo already had and it's awesome. That's all.
MORE OF THE CHURCH OF DIAN CECHT
Here, we have more of the church to take a look. This place looks like an area with Spear Soldiers at the 2017 Demo, that looked good before, and pales in comparison now. I'm really impressed on how the castle layout works great with this specific rounded architecture used on columns and the celling. You can take glimpses of that on several pictures and it is really beautiful and works great with the whole theme.
USING INVERT
As i guessed before, Invert is a
Skill Shard. It let's you invert Gravity for Miriam and Miriam only (enemies aren't affected). To be fair, that means Miriam is the only one who actually spins around, to the enemie's perspective. It's also interesting to see that a bug on Invert (figured out by Mana, trying to use it on open areas and crashing the game) became a feture, because when used at an open area with no celling, Miriam simply falls down and the player used that to reach that blue (new) chest).
BEAUTIFUL SKY
Man, what a beautiful sky. It looks a bit like Symphony of the Night's church, but this corridor and the sky on the background (with stars and a big moon) actually made me remember the Skyway on Harmony of Dissonance.
BLOODLESS: THE BATHTUB
The new look of Blodless and her lair. The bathtub looks disgusting with all that blood and her curtains looks awesome. I didn't expected such a huge improvement on something i considered to be good in the past.
BLODLESS: BOOB and LEG
You can take a great glimpse of Bloodless breast here. They look quite big, considering she is a beautiful woman (even if she is a demonic monster covered in blood) that isn't suprising. Her leg can also be seen and it is already covered on a long stocking. It looks like Bloodless has a Grade A Zettai Ryouki (only absurdly shameless Otakus will know what this means).
BLOODLESS: ABSORBING BLOOD
This scene, for some reason, reminded me of Mortal Kombat. The blood texture and animation is quite similar.
BLOODLESS: BODY AND FACE
As i said, Bloodless has quite a rack and she looks terryfingly beautiful. Her pale, dead-like skin, Blood tears coming from her eyes, that suicide-looking cut on her neck that keeps dripping blood and forges with her dress. Her new darker pallete of colors gave her a much improved and way more gothic looks.
BLOODLESS LAIR
Bloodless scenario looks much better now. The same white marble ground and celling, with long, dark curtains and a weird cage in the background, columns, more ground and windows vanishing in the distance behind columns, with her bathtub in the middle as if it was some kind of twisted evil throne for her.
UPDATES AND COMMENTARY ON RELEASE WINDOW TRAILER
Chandeliers: good to know that they move now, since, yes, we can't see them moving on the trailer.
Lava: I believe lava, lightning and glow here are perfect, but that's my opinion.
Level background missing: to be really honest, i didn't noticed that and i REALLY pay attention to the background, as anyone here can see. I guess i was too distracted by the dragon.
Foliage: I don't think that's absurdly necessary, but it would be cool to see they reactiong to the boss.
Bloodless: she looks as awesome as possible.
MIRIAM HAIR
Yep, Miriam Hair moves. It is a bit hard to see, but it does moves. That's not only a cool feature, but i'm really impressed that, due to people asking that, the dev team worked around to do it. It's fantastic to see that.
CLOSING COMMENTS
I know i'm not much, but i want to congratulate dev team (by
Question /
Angel-Corlux /
Mana ) on all this. It's impressive and fantastic that the dev team and IGA have so much commitment to this game, going as far as improving graphics, assets, lightning and even adding small "nitpick" details such as hair moving, candles moving and such.
I really hope Bloodstained is a sucess, because this team, abeit with the flaws along the way, deserve it.
That Bloodstained is released, is a sucess and turns into a franchise!
PS:
Galamoth Yes, i want anti-gravity Toad Shard Bug (aiming directly at the ground makes the Toad Shard to summon Toads that go straight up) to be a feature of the Shard itself.
dareka thanks for that clarification. it's funny, you said that
as if you had guessed i was going to come here to talk about the update.
That's all folks!
