I actually have a speculation. What if Valefor appears twice? We saw him once in the trailer. Perhaps after we beat him, he gets sent downwards somewhere in the castle where there is an underground with lots of gold. We sorta fight him twice, but the 2nd fight is going to be similar to the one from CotM--both appearance and attack patterns. Maybe, JUST maybe, we'll get a shard from this 2nd fight. I dunno if that made any sense.

Perhaps Valefor doesn't have a lot of money when you first meet him, but at some point between your first and second encounters, he ends up winning a ridiculously lucky series of poker games and becomes the bazillionaire we see in Curse of the Moon.

That's clever. Not chronologically sound as CotM and RotN aren't necessarily in different timelines, nor is one a sequel of the other but yeah. Good insight.

Something perhaps easily overlooked for CotM Valefor is his description on the Inti website. This may only be relevant to that game, but it's interesting and could help you theorize something very different.

If my speculation comes true, perhaps the 1st fight is where Valefor is a dealer, or a player of some sort. Then on the 2nd fight, his body finally becomes gold. I don't like Valefor's odd color scheme on the trailer, or could it be because he was on a room that had greens and greys that he just seemed out of place?
No matter, I just want to see a pure gold Valefor with floating hands.The room we see him in the trailer is reaaaaally claustrophobic. Unlike CotM, you fall down a pit and you have a lot of space.
It'd also be neat if the speculated 2nd boss fight with Valefor also involves a similar gold pit. This is late game, where you might need invert or super jump in order to reach back up. After the fight with 2nd Valefor, you need to explore a lil bit before you can go back up and progress normally. This could be the part where you find the invert or super jump shard. It gives you a feeling of helplessness and then you feel hopeful again after you find the thing that lets you progress.
Remember Circle of the Moon? Dracula broke the floor, so Nathan and Eric fell down a really deep pit--causing them to be stuck in the first stage: The Catacombs. That's exactly how I want the boss fight to feel like.

It could also be an AoS Legion-like way to get Valefor's shard. Like, meeting a certain requirement in order to get his shard (whatever the effect may be).
Remember how killing Legion's all 4 sides before his core gives you the Legion soul? Perhaps for Valefor, you gotta kill his money before you kill his body in order to get his shard.

Curse is not canon for me. Its a side-project for fun.
Whats going on there might reflect on the main game. I can't take it seriously at all due to the fact Zangetsu teams up with those 3 just like that.
So any enemy or boss in that game can be its own thing entirely. But I did notice that Valefor did have coins under his costume, so I wonder if he really are fit to be in that room or not. Maybe he use some kind of attack that allows the area to become gold, or flooded with coins, but that would make for an aggressive coding for just a boss-battle, and environmental change which we never seen as much in Castlevania games, not more than a statue being broken or a pillar.
No info yet from 505 games on Discord either. So I am leaving this topic. See what happens. I will complain post launch instead if things are off.

The fact that Zangetsu and Miriam are shippable is something I can take seriously though. The last thing I'd expect from those two are escaping something together while Zangetsu holds Miriam, hero style. Pretty cute.

Naked Snake and his codec moments with either Major Zero, Paramedic and Sigint are hella funny too. Zangetsu suddenly trying to be funny in the midst of his SLAY ALL SHARDBINDERS facade won't be too out of character, simply because he is David Hayter.
Igarashi, if you're reading this. Let Hayter say "Kept you waiting huh?" after saving Miriam or wherever it fits.

Lepstadder Nah, David recorded voice samples and personal messages which will be in the games sound samples, one guy even used it to promote his YouTube channel, I've no doubt that SOMEONE asked him to say some variation of "Kept you waiting, huh?" So Iga won't have to have him say it in the game. Sides the voiceworks all done.
