Damn, I don't even know why I still read the comments in the KS page, that place is a den of negativity and trolls. Those people always find something to complain, it's incredible. Instead of enjoying the trailer and the fact that we finally have a release window, they complain about the trailer being released first in the Nintendo Direct, a complete non-issue. And then we have the usual suspects with their comments full of vitriol doing what they've been doing for these past few months. There was even a comment by one of then saying that the majority of the people watching the trailer aren't backers and that's why the comments on the video are positive. It's sad to see what once was a great place for backers to offer feedback and interact with each other turn into a toxic place.

Nah, that's Mana Yeah, looking at it again, that's more like Mana's style. I was just wondering because Kojima was supposed to be involved with that stuff, right? Kojima is illustrating one piece of the KS-exclusive packaging, a sleeve for the tiers 100 and up.

Very interesting, didn't expect to hear anything until next update. Neat little surprise to comfort the fact that Metroid Prime Trilogy wasn't on the Direct. Abilities look interesting, specially the teleport one. Also that inverted castle at the end, damn the design of the casle must be perfectly crafted for it to work.
God damn I'm in love with the box art, amazing work @mana

I don't want to sound ungrateful to Ayami Kojima but with Mana I seriously don't miss her at all. Hell, I think I may preferr Mana's style even!
Not bad at all for an employee who was hired to be a community manager of sorts and not for art.

they complain about the trailer being released first in the Nintendo Direct, a complete non-issue So, the game got announced first for a platform that wasn't even in the original Kickstarter, after having four other original platforms cancelled, and you don't see why some backers might have a teensy-weensy problem with that?

The trailer rocks! Impressions so far: The good:- Game looks good in motion.
- Contrast between strong colors and shadows looks very well done across the board, especially in the new areas, and is more in line with past Igavanias.
- Demon cat rocks!
- High speed running skill is great.
- Johannes stopped breathing like a maniac, thanks for listening.
- Umbrella girl's face came out perfect, don't change it no matter what anyone may say!
- Bosses look awesome.
- Some of the new assets look quite good.
- Gebel's looking good.
- "Invert", no elaboration required Areas for improvement:- During cut scenes / event scenes characters should have emotional expressions appropriate to the situation at hand. Not asking for Heavenly Sword type facial expressions but something that looks good, appropriate, and isn't the character's standard expression during regular gameplay. Please no close-ups of an expressionless Miriam. Here's an example that looks bad: Zangetsu's face looks like it belongs to a pre-painted pvc figure (especially bad in motion) and Miriam's expression looks totally neutral. Also the coloring of Zangetsus face and upper body seems like a mismatch. Maybe it's just in this shot but worth looking into. Here's an example where facial expressions are well done; all story segments ought to emulate this level of expressive detail: - Note some of the game's assets still need to improve as can be seen in the screenshot above and in the wooden structure in the image below (the Galleon Minerva likely still needs a lot of work done based on the wooden structures shown in this trailer): - Is there any way to turn off the numerical damage displayed after striking an enemy? Would be much appreciated. - Any chance you can make the blood that splatters against the background look less tacky? Note I really like the level of detail of the area in the foreground Miriam is standing on in the picture above and in the backdrop as well. Not so much of a fan of the foreground stage in the picture below no matter how many times I see it: Try experimenting with adding some coloring and/or additional shading in the areas highlighted in red for a more palatable visual here. - Johannes face could look better: - On a related note, for dialog sequences where the character models are shown up close, if you have a more detailed model than the normal in-game model please use those instead of the in-game model (see first demo). Yes consistency is nice but a better looking character up close is even nicer. That's all that comes to mind right now. Seeing a lot of good things here, kudos to the team for a job well done so far, but there are still a number of things that need fixing as well. Keep up the good work. PS: Happy Birthday Arsenical.

Valefor doesn't look very good.... The CotM version looks absolutely superior in every way. The colors and textures are hideous. The "floating hands" style fit the boss way better than the "sleeves" or "arms" they added. The coins look horrible the way they clip all over, and they're definitely way too big. And the background doesn't even seem to fit the theme in any way like it did in CotM. I hope that it's just a different mode or something. The way the coins shine light from below giving it a moody creepy vibe is gone, so is the expressive cartoon face. In CotM he looks like an automaton made of gold and copper... he even has a jewler/watchmaker loupe over his eye... but the 3D version replaces it with some stupid red and white donut. The size difference is also a bit awkward... Why doesn't he fit inside his own room?! Not to mention everything has this unnatural plasticky sheen. Also I might need to rewatch but I think I saw quite a few glitches throughout the rest of the video as well... like... what is that brick looking stuff in front of the left door? Is that supposed to be there? I hope the gameplay is good at least...
