Surprised you consider the N64 a 'low'. I do not consider it a low in terms of sales or achievements. I consider it a low in terms of moral. So many game developers jumped ship then because things got difficult and really didn't give the console its due. Here you had a really good and capable console (which Nintendo themselves demonstrated time and again) that admittedly had a tricky development system and it seemed no one wanted to make games for it. Later in its life some of the developers came back around, but it was enough to regain all of the market that had been lost in the mean time. But, this thread is not the place for these discussions. |

Given Iwata-san progressed from almost the lowest rung on the ladder (as a game programmer), I will be waiting with bated breath for his successor. Won't be Miyamoto, he'll be retiring on his own sooner or later. |

actually makes me curious about his "direct to you" and "please watch" gestures, is that a culural thing or was that one of Iwata-sama's mannerisms? either way i really loved them, he loved what he did and did what he loved and it always came across ;^_^;

I wrote the following message at Nintendo's official Facebook page, I wanted to share my thoughts with you guys. A sad day for all of us indeed:
"My condolences and best wishes with all my admiration and respect to this incredible man, I'd say international hero that not only made generations of children happy, living great adventures alongside great characters and innovative and real fun hardware, but also for influencing us in our adult age to become developers (in my particular case), musicians, artists, writers, and many other professionals being inspired by Nintendo legacy, following our dreams to be part of this magnificent outrageous videogame realm. My eternal admiration. Thanks for everything, this is not a goodbye but a see you later. Condolences to his family, friends co workers and to all our fellow players around the globe..."
