Announcements from the Kickstarter page listed below: Update #69, Backer Beta Demo Update from IGA In regards to the Backer Beta Demo for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, our launch date has changed from June 21st to June 28th. We sincerely apologize for this delay. We showcased the demo at E3, but after watching many people play the demo, we found a couple of bugs that we want to fix and several adjustments we wanted to make in order to deliver a better beta experience. We were very busy supporting the demo for E3, and we have been working all the way up to today’s release date to try to avoid pushing it back, but we were not quite able to complete the work that needs to be done to make the beta experience a great one for backers. As a result, we are forced to delay from the promised date, and we are very sorry. Please continue to look forward to the beta a little longer, and thank you for your patience. Message from 505 Hello everyone, Roberto (Angel-Corlux) here from 505 Games. As Iga just described, unfortunately we’re going to need to delay the Beta Backer Demo until June 28th, 2018 due to the above mentioned reasons. ArtPlay and 505 are a team and as such, we’d also like to apologize to you for this unexpected delay. We know it sucks to not have your hands on the demo yet, but we hope you’ll lend us your understanding as we work to make sure the demo is the best experience for you all. One advantage that will come of this is that the feedback you all will provide will not focus on some of the common issues we ran into with the E3 2018 build. Again, we really regret not being able to deliver the Beta Backer Demo on time to you, and we are immensely appreciative of your patience and understanding. A special ‘extra’ apology goes out to those among you who may have taken a day off to really dig into the demo. Please come talk to us in the usual places, Twitter, Discord, Forums, etc., and feel free to ask any questions you may have. As always, we want to be honest and straightforward with you, thanks again everyone for your patience.

Lipsync will NOT be fixed in the beta, but the team is aware of the feedback.

Sure another week is not that long but the thing is that in the light of the disaster that was the Curse of the Moon delay this delay wasn't very tactical. Two delays back to back will surely aggrivate backers and cause exagirated headlines. In my opinion they should have just released the demo today because updates about delays are not what Bloodstained needs right now.

I love this game and the team behind it, but this time i think i need to be honest and say what i think even if some people would consider this to be negativity or hate. first of all, i won't even get the chance to play to demo because im no pc gamer, but that doesn't mean i shouldn't be concernerd with this matter. Okay... so you are telling me that the demo that was supposed to come TODAY was suddenly delayed because the team wanted to fix some bugs? isn't the point of the beta testing to find bugs and report them as well as giving feedback? you mentioned they pushed hard to deliver the demo TODAY but they failed and they are delaying it 1 whole week and we get to know about this delay the very same day we were expecting to get the demo? im sorry but i don't buy that. what kind of bug was it that they had to do such a drastic move? was it game breaking? hard to believe it since it made it to the E3. This morning i woke up and before going to work i came to check for updates and couldn't find a thing so i just went to work happily expecting to come back later and find some vids but nope... instead i find sad news. personally i have always tried to be positive about this game and tried to ignore negativity or even criticism but sadly the name Bloodstained keeps getting tarnished with delays and problems with the delivery of the product. sure Curse of the Moon is another story but it is still related to Bloodstained. and with lord IGA hinting the game will probably come in 2019 and not in 2018 as we were told before, the things keep getting more and more suspcious.
its been over half a year now and we still don't have a release date and the hint we got for 2018 its slowly crumbling. i have faith in but with how the things are going it just keeps getting harder to defend this game. I understand that **** happens, but this time i am truly Disappointed

Arsenical I'll let 505 speak on statement itself regarding its timing if they want, but how it's worded in the update is, per IGA: "We were very busy supporting the demo for E3, and we have been working all the way up to today’s release date to try to avoid pushing it back, but we were not quite able to complete the work that needs to be done to make the beta experience a great one for backers". From this, it's meant to me that they did not want/intend to do this delay until just the moment such was announced, unfortunately. I do not believe they were only talking about the "couple of bugs" mentioned earlier in the update here, more the "several adjustments we wanted to make in order to deliver a better beta experience". As far as the beta's intent, the purpose of a beta is to gather feedback on things that need to be fixed/bugs, yeah. However they're going ahead and fixing the things they've already heard about so we're not wasting our and their time telling about things they already know. The idea is of course to get new information. If here on the forum we take in 1000+ bug reports and they are mostly all the obvious things brought to their attention at E3, we may as well have not done the thing. Selfishly too as a moderator myself and being one that will peruse and watch over that exchange, it'd be a shame for all that work to be so fruitless.

You guys could just hire 2-3 good testers and find these problems before-hand instead of letting the public be your alpha testers.

I see your point and honestly what really bothered me was the sudden update, it is my fault for letting the hype rise to much. After thinking about it i see how a buggy demo can be worse than a 1 week delay. Im still disappointed, but i hope the demo makes me forget this incident with its greatness.

You guys could just hire 2-3 good testers and find these problems before-hand instead of letting the public be your alpha testers. you get the part where we (the kickstarter backers) are not the general "public". and that the whole point of having a Beta demo before release is EXACTLY to not let the "public be your alpha testers"

Better to get the bugs out now, especially ones that could end up crashing a game or locking it. Cause the way I see it, a weeks wait in worth is less the annoyance than having to deal with multiple bugs already reported AND any new ones that may come along the way.

Had no problem with the delay... as you guys saw on the backer survey, we don't mind delays. But please Question and Angel-Corlux give us ample time to register it. I love how this project has been handled... there were no surprises, if something was happening we would be told well in advance But the way the beta was handled was atrocious. I don't know who decided to hold off on telling us about the delay... I personally think that was a bad move... if there is a heavy chance for such a delay tell us in advance, we will be fine with it (or most of us will be fine with it) but dropping a delay the day something supposed to come out... that disappointed me (and probably others). anyway... I know this is kind of a dead (or dying) thread and I bet Question and Angel-Corlux most likely read that other thread " Update on Beta Backer Demo" I just wanted to state my disappointment since I did not see them in that thread. Anyway I do want to thank you guys for your awesome work on the game so far (this is not sarcastic I do truly mean that) and besides this one bump, I feel you guys are doing an excellent job! still hyped for the game and can't wait until tomorrow for the beta.

Hey there Jeff, no worries, this is a totally justified and common point of feedback we've received since having to delay the Beta Backer Demo (BBD). Indeed as you surmise, we would have loved to have given advance warning to the delay, the decision was made to try and make every effort possible to release as per schedule. It was a calculated risk that unfortunately didn't pan out. Completely understand how disappointing it was considering the "surprise" element of the delay.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support, and for your negative feedback as well! I really mean that, as much as we love hearing our praises sung (who doesn't) we also want to improve and know what everyone is thinking.
