Very exciting update, glad to hear the soundtrack has finished. There was some awesome footage in the video and it looks like everything is coming together nicely. Also really excited to see more about the demo, great update guys loving the trend.

The little bits of music in there sounded way better than the demos already. I'm convinced that this soundtrack is going to be absolutely amazing.

Just going to copy/paste my reddit post on this because I'm lazy.
As somebody who thinks that music is one of the most important aspects for this genre of game, I'm a big fan of this update.
Otherwise I'm glad the radio silence on the demo has finally been broken, still was hoping for a bit more news on it besides the already assumed "It's coming."
"This month the team has been working super hard on quite a few things, and something in particular we can’t talk about publicly yet"
I assume not, but just for clarity's sake, is the "something in particular" the demo?
Also since I don't feel like making a new topic for this: Nightmare mode should be unlocked from the beginning, if not by default, then by a cheat code since we will be getting those as well.
And finally, why does Tord look like he's literally made of chrome? Jesus Christ.

Aight well my future replies are going to be consolidated here then lol. I'm hoping that the secret thing that you're working on but can't talk about is the online mode. I've put a disgusting amount of time into Harmony of Despair so I'm extremely interested in how this mode is going to stack up to HoD. Lost track of my HoD playtime over the years/hard resets but at one point I had a Soma with dual miser rings, dual valmanways (not +1 though), sonic boots, and a bunch of other things I can't remember. "Roger that on your Nightmare mode feedback, I'll make sure to include it in the report I send preiodically to Iga and the team." Awesome. One of the most rewarding 'vania experiences I've had was throwing myself at the brick wall of insanity that was Curse of Darkness's Crazy Mode. The difficulty was above and beyond ridiculous, Mostly because there was no character/level carryover, and that is an experience I would like to relive in Bloodstained. As there's going to be a NG+ mode, it's clear that we'll just be able to plop our geared up Miriam over into Nightmare mode, and that's just not the same for me. Sure we could just start a new file but I honestly lack the self discipline to start from scratch I'm going out on a limb and assuming that we'll have sort of a globalized save that will keep our level/gear/etc. in between NG+ modes, rougelite, and "Totally not Harmony of Despair" modes, so the game already kind of discourages hard character resets. To be frank, the other "hard modes" in 'vania titles were pretty trash, as the game was only marginally harder, and the only real challenge came from level cap limitations, so I really hope that Nightmare mode is comparable to Crazy mode, and really just makes the game outrageously unfair. Also copy copy on lighting, thanks!

Wow, i'm one of the first people to post in a update? So rare. Anyways, interesting update. Going to my usual analysis: ABOUT THE MUSIC
I clearly remember Kickstarter's stretch goal ($3.750.000) promising some music from the game being orchestrated. And that's what we have here. I'm glad to see a kickstarter promise being fullfilled. It was never clarified what songs would be orchestrated and how the dev team would choose, since it wouldn't be the whole OST, but i know such information can't be disclosed without spoiling the game. I'm glad to see that Galleon Minerva's song, Voyage of Promise, if one of them. It sounds really great. And it's good ot know the composers alongside Legendary Miss Michiru Yamane. I really like how honest she is with her work, where she bases her compositions over the game's overall tone and scenarios individually. Also, Mister Keisuke Ito saying he composed songs close to midnight for inspiration REALLY shows someone commited to it's work. Last but not the least, Mister Ryusuke Fujioka saying that all composers had the change to write many tracks is a great thing, because it gives the game's OST, a lot of diversity, but still keeping some kind of unified theme. ABOUT TORD
Not much to say about it. It's a demonic frog that we seen before. I like it. ABOUT THE NEW DEMO
I got the DEMO information from someone that told me how it was revealed over discord, and i like it. Galleon Minerva again, following up to some game slices. I wonder how that will work, in practice. If those game's slices ends up being different parts of the game, not connected among themselves, a menu where you can pick some scenarios to test, with Mirian in a appropriate level and gear, would be a good idea.

good update, like to hear about how hard people are working and the biggest news in it I'm most thankful for is giving out Steam codes of the demo for all backers instead of just PC backers, was a little worried I was gunna miss out on it being a Switch (slacker) backer when that is merely my platform of choice and have the option to play on PC. if those are really the same frogs as the ones that were shown off previously it's pretty amazing how much detail went into them for such a small enemy that's hard to notice fine details of in actual gameplay. got me hyped up for the March update, sounded as though it's coming on the 17th?

hahaha I love that PM made the Kojima whtieboard thing his avatar. hmm I don't have anything to copy/paste, feel left out Anyway, this update is ridiculous lol. There's so much going on, and there will be people seeing Hayter for the first time too etc. I looked up those composer guys as well, they're indeed fairly new/young but do have published works. Their insight and how they're going about the design process sound great to me, and Angel in discord earlier assured me that the gamey-ness sound will still be present. Those were my favorite parts of the main theme and Voyage of Promise songs, them having the electronic sounds that don't have a real instrument counterpart. It's ironic since I'm such a live music guy ;p I always say/feel like that a band isn't a real band if they don't sound better live, but for video games I like them to be video game-y lol...

Ryusuke Fujioka and Keisuke Ito are with Noisycroak, I believe That said, in reference to a question I see a lot, as Angel always says, if official staff says nothing has been cut, then nothing has been cut ;D So Yamada and Virt are still working on the game. In fact, XombieMike might do an interview with Virt for the Bloodstained podcast, make your wishes known on Twitter! EDIT: Also, Jorge is still around Maybe when Bloodstained comes out he'll do more covers and stuff

"1st day of recording the script for Bloodstained over at @rocketsoundus! It's pretty amazing to see the crazy high caliber of talent going into the story...and how long the script is! So much longer than another certain famous Igavania game..."This basically narrows it down to 2 games; Symphony of the Night, and Aria of Sorrow. IGA consider Symphony his 'Best' game, while he consider Aria his 'most creative' game. I wonder which one he's referencing...?

Probably Aria honestly because that was a reaaaaaally wordy game. Granted the series isn't particularly dialogue heavy so it's all relative.

I think it's probably long compared to any of them, yeah, since none in particular had that much dialogue. Question is how they'll manage that, though...because come to think of it, we still don't know if the game has portraits and boxes for dialogue (in this case with voices to them, like SotN) or if it will be in-engine cutscenes with the camera moved in, or...something else entirely. Perhaps both of the formers?
And yeah I want that necklace. Think I want to wear it to SXSW, and it'd be kinda neat to present IGA one, but...too heavily Castlevania for that.

purifyweirdshard I REALLY hope the game has an option to turn ON subtitles if there aren't any inherently. I'm uh...sort of a freak. I honestly have to play or watch everything with subtitles. I just get it so much better that way...

Same here. Subtitles for everything, because I don't want to miss any meaning or detail, and it gets me into it more yeah. I think that started for me with Metal Gear Solid or so
But it also applies to something like TV shows, i.e. Game of Thrones. I must soak all the things in
