I agree with the large variety of skeletons, I love them too, also I would like to see zombie dragons, sea dragons, bone head minotaurs, cursed puppets and a variety of vampires, even one called Dracula, why not?

A sphinx would be a great option for a high-level enemy or even a boss, as one of the creatures that tempted the alchemists. As powerful riddlemasters there would be a lot of possibilities for how a sphinx would fight, such as dropping hex bolts while flying.

Also to keep with the alchemy theme, Ouroboros would be a really good concept for a boss. Ouroboros is the oldest known alchemical symbol, specifically the symbol of fire.

I would love to see an Arachne type enemy. Having the half spider appearance. Or I would just like to see giant spiders that would do poison damage.
I would just be happy with any insect version enemy. Maybe and undead enemy that upon death large insects Burst out of the corpse. I love it when an enemy explodes into many others.

While on the subject of centipedes...
It begins with a large skeleton boss of some sort but its very bones are imbued with dark magic. However, when the skeleton is defeated, the dark magic kicks in and the large spine elongates, all vertebrae broadens and spinal nerves grow from the processes to form the legs. The skull cracks open, the jawbone splits in half and transforms into mandibles. A giant, deadly skeleton centipede is created.

I love it when an enemy explodes into many others. what about an insect version of legion... it could take several forms. think about it, a large, ferocious looking enemy pops out of nowhere (you know, in one of those "too quiet" moments) but instead of attacking it writhes in pain and falls back dead... then tiny insects start eating away it's body from the inside out. then the mass of insects uses the creatures bones to create a multiple form boss... the bugs could fall off of the monster as it attacks and moves and if you stay in one place too long the little bugs can sap your life, bit by bit... they should be controlled by a core insect or a few core insects... each time you kill one the others come together to make a new form.

This is a fantastic idea. I feel that you could incorporate a demon that infected this large, ferocious looking enemy as a boss in this area. Or instead of just using the bones, the flesh is still attached in places and the insects hold together the alternate parts. Maybe leave the head whole and unaffected until you get the health to some point to where the queen bug through its head.

A Djinn might be another good enemy type. No idea what it would do but it would be powerful.

I'm actually not so into gore. It's just stuck in my from when I played The Evil Within. I've played too many games with a lot of gore and watched too many slasher films.

I really want something more evil, devious or spooky enemies. For instance ghosts, cursed portraits, ghouls, evil shadows, poltergeists, possessed noble humans (resembling vampires) and bizarre demons.

Kirby games have plenty of eyeball enemies too. As for Castlevania, "Peeping Eyes" are definitely well-known.

Yes please, classic monsters and their derivations are part of the Igavania essence and Iga will balance things with all new monsters.

I posted in this thread awhile back, but I forget what about exactly. I'm sure it was something like blah we wont be able to have classic castlevania enemies since this isn't castlevania and konami will put the sue hammer on iga.. he'll be limited to enemies that are common to all fantasy games like skeletons, zombies, trolls, etc.
however one castlevania enemy that as far as I know, only existed in Curse of darkness... It was original,, jaw-droppingly so, and yet pretty well designed...
THE ACROBAT NINJA GIANT FISH-MOUNTED SCUBA-DIVING SKELETON!
Seriously, that boss had to be a joke at some point that they decided to make for real somehow.
Before that skeleton became a lowly undead skeleton, aquaman was probably their bish.
