Reading through the descriptions of the lesser key demons of Ars Goetia they are all really interesting. The lesser key played a big role in Shadow Hearts 2 when it came to powering up your transformations.

I recognize some of these demons, most due to experience with the Shin Megami Tensei series. I'll find it very interesting to compare the Iga take on some of these demons to the SMT versions.

What I love most about Iga choosing The Lesser Key of Solomon for inspiration for enemies is that there are so many with unique features, that seeing and fighting them should be very memorable, and that Iga's using a real world source.
I'll probably be looking up The Lesser Key of Solomon alot when I playthrough Bloodstained just to get some info on the origins of the enemies and bosses.

So we'll definitely be seeing many enemies with familiar-sounding names, but somewhat-different appearances. Eligos, eh?...I guess "Eligor" from Order of Ecclesia will reappear! *(EDIT):* Now...Where do I fit into this?

I like the demon art from this book I think there will be alot of good material for bloodstained enemies here.

Assuming that the Lesser Key of Solomon won't be the only source of inspiration for enemies (I'm sure there will be many other pieces of source material to draw from), I am definitely wondering about the vastness of variety in other monsters that will wander Gebel's castle. IGA was never known for drawing from only one source.

There are several things in Scandinavian Folklore like Pesta that I would like to see in Bloodstained. Read of her in that link. One story tell of a ferryman who helped her across a lake. When he realised who it was, he begged for her to spare him, and she told him that for his kindness, he would recieve a painfree death. He died quietly in his sleep later that night. Unfortunatley, he had infected his family as well. Pesta Nökken

I already knew that Draugr, in particular, were part of Scandinavian folklore...but seeing that word again, I can't help but think of Skyrim now (and Morrowind's Bloodmoon expansion).

Also, check out Nuckelavee of Orcadian mythology. The descriptions vary, but I like this one: I've heard it described "A horse with a large gaping mouth, one single eye that burns with a red flame, fin like appendageson on his legs, and a human torso growing out of the horse's back, like a rider. It also had no skin, with black blood coursing through it's yellow veins."

Nightmare from D&D? Like a black horse with flames? How bout Kelpiefrom that link: "...a common theme in the tales is of several children clambering onto the creature's back while one remains on the shore. Usually a little boy, he then pets the horse but his hand sticks to its neck. In some variations the lad cuts off his fingers or hand to free himself; he survives but the other children are carried off and drowned, with only some of their entrails being found later."

So many interesting monsters/demons to possibly include in Bloodstained. The "Nightmare" enemy is also found in Harmony of Dissonance and Order of Ecclesia.

I am hoping that Iga and the team draw inspiration from many cultures. I am looking forward to Jenny Green Teeth, or Baba Yaga. The Lesser Key of Solomon is a great source, but you notice a pattern which makes a lot of them predictable. Combine person with animal for spooky demon. It's good, don't get me wrong, but unless they design them in unique ways it will just look like Megaman X series bosses. Also, I am hoping for some Lovecraft inspired enemies (Big surprise there).

Mountains of Madness was a great read. It probably inspired John Carpenter's The Thing, one of my favorite films. IGA mentioned that he did like the Lovecraftian world, and that he isn't limiting the monsters to just the Lesser Key.

^That's definitely good to hear from IGA himself. He definitely isn't limiting the monsters to just from one source.

I still remember watching it when I was 7. My dad had rented it for my brother and myself. Ahhhh... being terrified for a week at such a young age was fun.
