I'd like the areas take place in the castle and its surrounding areas. For instance, a small village leading to a forest that leads to a cliff area and then the castle itself.
as for areas of the castle. I am thinking a courtyard, entrance hallways, underground sewers that lead to deep caverns that lead to catacombs.... gardens, living quarters, kitchens, libraries, clocktowers, castle keeps.... basically i want as much in and around the castle as they can fit. they arent being handheld by a big company, and they have quite a lot to spend on the game... REALLY show us the fruits of 20+ years of castle building and give us the biggest and most detailed castle yet! put sotns castle to shame, iga!

Flame whip
Whip of Belmont Said to be once held by Legendary hunters of long ago.
Ooh. and About how they would work: I am kind of partial to how they worked in super castlevania IV (whip in 8 directions as well as doing the dangly shield thingy when holding the button)

Yeah with both Kojima and Igarashi gone, on top of the bad press konami is (rightfully) getting, they wont be around much longer. what gives me hope, is that someone worthy ends up buying most of konamis properties. (castlevania, metal gear, contra, goemon...) and bring back kojima and igarashi to work on more games.
maybe one day, we might get a definitive version of sotn with content from the sega saturn game (with none of the slowdown.)

Keeping this minor, since I am on the phone. I played and finished it with only 4 cards recently. I found the environments less interesting and once I killed the last boss I just ignored that I didn't investigation 100% and went for the Harmony of Dissonance. While not touching on the subject of HoD, it felt like IGA immediately and was a fresh breeze for me. Long corridors. Copy + phase platforms are not something I enjoy very much. Other note: Well-written post! Enjoy reading it, hope to see more in other topics as well. Have at you! Hods major flaw was the music. whoever was the sound designer and thought it was a good idea to revert back to the famicom sound hardware without actually having music in mind for it should have been fired.

Igarashi himself HATED this version. The Sega Saturn was supposed to be a 2d powerhouse, but for some reason Konami brought their C-team for the porting job. This version isn't without it's merit - namely the new content in the forms of areas, enemies, items, and Maria being playable. But the one thing, the ONE thing that sucks and makes this game inferior was indeed the framerate. good lord, the framerate was awful. It would chug periodically. And for some reason, some effects are notably missing.
Which leaves me pondering... man, what would it be like if Konami did a 180, fixed their relationship with their workers, and gave igarashi his old job back.... and he were to remake sotn and add back in the content added from both the psp and the saturn ports of sotn, and released it on ps4, xbox one, pc, and the switch?
miracles happen, you know.

this is proof that western anime can very well be a thing! This was already demonstrated in the past with Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra. Exceptional series (in general) on any level. I think I'll watch the Castlevania episodes tonight, after work. oh... right. well. throw this on another example that isnt atla or lok.

this was fantastic! igarashi would be so proud! i mean: this isn't just proof that video adaptations can be great. this is proof that western anime can very well be a thing! i love the way the first four episodes expand upon what was only hinted at in manuals (the catholic church's treatment of the belmonts and belnades), and flashbacks (lisa's death.) i love how trevor is portrayed. a down-on-his-luck man openly hated upon by paranoid townsfolk. i love how he has to be reminded of who he is and what his destiny is. this series also shows that the catholic church are run by people just as bad as dracula.
also. one other thing i love is how alucard is rocking his sotn appearence and sword, his design from castlevania 3 was ok, but far too much like the dracula stereotype.
i am curious however, how will grant play into all this? and how far are they going to go? will they go with the other belmonts? cross your fingers fellow igavania fans!

a little nudity is fine, just try to not let it get in the way of telling a good story or making a good game. iga should be free to do what he wants with the game to match his artistic vision, and i trust he wont oversexualize it or anything,

maybe it's because im a straight male, but a slightly bustier miriam is harmless. shes still going to be a good protagonist from what ive seen. and thats all that matters with me. looks can only get you so far with a character. how interesting are they? thats the key thing im looking for. sure, a pretty face helps, but if their personality is wooden, i aint interested. it's kinda like what i look for in a lady in general :3

i myself would like a non-canon whip-wielding holy item-throwing character to be playable in an extra mode Yeah, Simon is a perfect choice nah. not simon. iga isnt part of castlevania anymore. so a belmont-like character.

I'd like everything they can't get sued for to be included. As much CV in Bloodstained as possible. I understand the merits of being it's own game and should be able to stand on it's own, but just personally I want to see as many things as possible that will make CV fans feel like the game is really filling the void and upholding the legacy. I have no doubt it will carry on the legacy of Iga's CV games, but I want to see other things too. I guess one thing that would make me really happy would be the rotating room from Super CV IV. i myself would like a non-canon whip-wielding holy item-throwing character to be playable in an extra mode

go m or go home! this should NOT be hindered by the castevania censorship of the past. blood should be red! religious references should stay intact! iga is given 100% control of his work..... and this does not look like a game for kiddies. maybe a censorship OPTION for those who are really sensitive... but otherwise bring on the blood and nudity!!

Helium mode: all actors have chipmunk voices Deep voice mode: everyone speaks in a very deep tone. Demonic voice mode: everyones voice is in g major unnecessary censorship mode: random words are bleeped out. bizarro mode: everyone talks in opposites, element strengths and weaknesses are reversed (fire is strong against water, dark is strong to holy, wood is strong against lightning), whole castle is mirrored. disco mode: background flashes a rainbow of colors while techno music blasts, miriam dances while standing still, enemies dance instead of attacking. old timey mode: everything is black and white with film grain effect, no sounds, only music (and the music is muffled... like its coming from a phonograph) 8-bit mode: everything, the characters, the backgrounds, the enemies, and the music, all look and sound like they were on an nes. the usual infinite health, magic, all weapons, unlock this and unlock that codes....
ooh and also.... for easy access cheats should be recorded somewhere to be put in again easily once used once.

Mewtwo. nothing compares to the sheer terror that is G1 Mewtwo. Psychics were the undisputed kings of g1... with few weaknesses and insane special stats. and at the top of that peak... stands Mewtwo. a pokemon that can drop whole teams in a few turns....so feared that only the champion can face it. gen 2... nerfed the psychic type a bit by introducing dark types and also making ghost types strong to psychics (in g1 psychics were... IMMUNE to ghosts... contrary to what the anime says.) but mewtwo was STILL a force to be reckoned with. and in gen 4 it could learn aura sphere to blast those fucking dark types to hell. gen 5 gave it a swanky exclusive move (psystrike) and in gen 6..... well.... mega evolutions happened. and mewtwo is given not one... but TWO mega forms. both are tied with mega rayquaza as.... the pokemon with the highest base stat total. mewtwo is...... quite literallly.... a name every trainer should fear.
