i guess i've never beaten any of the games i own that quickly though i'm sure most of them may fall into this range... but i do have a soft spot for games like Xenogears where i clocked well over 90 hours.
i'll keep my pledge where it's at and hope we reach some of those stretch goals.

My concern is that the update that just went out mentioned that the target playtime is 8 hours. That's a little short and is really making me want to back my pledge down...

IMO, and short of the campaign opening an official one, this is already the main forum. we opened this over a month ago.

win 7 definitely had a little more "going on" than, say, XP (or my favorite OS Win 2k), especially with Aero turned on and all that jazz. I will say, however, that performance for games is _highly_ dependent on how tuned the drivers are for a specific OS. Each OS introduces new APIs to take advantage of new or rebuilt subsystems. I say this as i'm writing a driver now for work and the number of new functions that "just work" that were introduced with Vista (and subsequently carried into Win 7) are huge, and this is just for filter drivers. the subsystems for video and audio were likely similarly overhauled/revamped which means that the "old way" of doing something will still work (since MS loves backwards compatibility) but those old APIs are likely shimmed on top of the new system and likely at a performance cost.
just my $.02

For whatever reason, the Arcane reference strikes a chord with me more. maybe it's the whole "there are few left in the alchemist sect" thing...

re timing, i just meant there's been some big KS campaigns lately. i know i've pretty much exhausted most of my discretionary funds for a while.
as an aside, the tone of the last update from this campaign was a little over-dramatic imo. maybe that's just due to poor translation

I run Win 10 on a VM @ work, i actually like it and can't wait to throw it on my home computers. currently the only thing i'm not liking is the fact that home users (non-Pro versions) won't be able to schedule their windows updates (they'll automatically download and install). at least that's what i've heard... the build i'm using isn't final and is a Pro version.
i see why they'd do this, because they want users to always be patched against security updates and people are relatively irresponsible in this regard, however, a number of people have been burned by taking things right away. i'm more of the "wait and see" kinda person when it comes to windows updates.

-Many Japanese voice actors are not allowed to work on crowd funded games. (Sad fact given by Ben Judd in the KS comments.) You'd have to scroll and search, but the date he said it is June 5. link to the specific comment

cool, i just backed this one as well. hopefully it turns out good. i kinda want the 16bit graphics but that stretch is kinda far away... Even the $8000 is too far away for my liking. I can probably kiss the Wii-U version goodbye. yea... but we can hope

A bit off topic, but only slightly. I was always entranced by the Anime scenes in Lunar the Silver Star. It was just an amazing moment to me that they took scenes such as those and placed them inside of a video game. this and xenogears are part of the reason why i'm completely ok with anime cutscenes in most games

what's the "legion" reference here? I guess i'm hesitant to cast my vote for something referencing vampirical if the thought behind the game is mostly alchemical

Thomas yea, but i guess i'd rather hear "No comment section clan" from Ben Judd as he has more pull with Igarashi-san/Inti than FanGamer. and while Akumajo and the others have "high numbers" of people, i haven't seen very many people here, or in the comments section, actually identify with preexisting clans. and as you've mentioned, worst case scenario, we can tag ourselves via the credits... _assuming_ that there are no character restrictions that would prevent that.

I'll also suggest that if we do implement a poll for this, we should be able to pick a couple, and then have a run off of the top 3 or so... or the admins could just make an executive decision :-)
