What about a simple cookie clicker/button masher thingy?
If the game has some kind of way to tell you are one of the backers, like Enkerias special message suggestion, they could make it so you have to 'fight off' all of the other credits. Your name plus the message stay on screen at all times.
Start out by just scrolling the regular credits.
When you hit buttons during the scrolling your name on screen start to wiggle, like it is trying to gain control. When you do gain control, the screen breaks, like the shard collection effect in game, and all the names on screen start get blasted of the screen in a radial fashion.
Your name is in the centre of the screen now and all the names 'attack' your name. This hapens automatically at a set interval. If you keep mashing however it speeds up significantly and the hitsparks effects of you 'battling' the other names increase. And depending on how fast you mash, the faster the names appear on screen.
The names of each clan could have its own colour as well, to differentiate the clans.
And if you clear the credits fast enough you get a bonus joke item/shard in game? =P Like whip made out of the names of the backers, and the names get randomized each time you whip. Or a shard that has a special hit spark effect, which would be random backer names instead of a standard spark effect.
Kinda like this:
But all the 'enemies' are all the credit names, and the player character is your own name.

DDDA is awesome. Had so much fun with the game back on the PS3!

UE4 is able to publish to Android.
I messed around with it a bit myself and got something running on my phone.
So it might be possible to port to Android, however it still means they will need to revamp allot of the game to make it work on mobile. Also, touchscreen controls >.>

I got a feeling my modding attempts and leaks could have gotten in the way of a new demo until now.
I cant help but think them wanting to keep things a secret for as long as possible.
Had backed up the 2016 already since I was modding it so that'll be safe on my end =]

Mana s art is great. The moment I found out that she did art and saw her work, I followed her everywhere i could find her on on social media. (Promise I am not a stalker!) At this point in development though I can only imagine her work to be featured as promotional materials though. If there are to be in game portrait they would most likely, and should be imo, shots of the 3d models. Just so that the in game visuals are consistent. Would be great to have her work as promo images, banners and all that other social media stuff. Boxart, posters, etc. If there is a sequal though I hope Mana becomes the head artist, just because her style is so gorgeous. The only concern I would have is that Mana would be swamped with work if she has to do her current responsibilities as well. If that is the case I hope she gets an assistent or someone else to take on some of her responsobilities. I just hope it doesnt get in the way of her daily workload.

Modding UE4 games is possible. And since this game uses the UE4 engine it opens up the possibility to mod this game. I am not sure to what extent we will be able to mod this game. As in whether it will be possible to create our own weapons with their own special stats or effects or whatever. But we should be able to change the models/textures/aninations and what not. Pretty much got the same experience with metroidvanias.
Did play SotN at a friends house but CotM was my first metroidvania i owned and completed.
OoE > CotM > SotN personally.
CotM's DDS system I thought was pretty cool back in the day. I sometimes wish a system like this gets inplemented in a new game. Doesnt necesarily have to be an Iga game either.
The cheat to be able to activate any combination was nice as well. Didnt need to collect all cards to use them.
The fact that enemies change depending on how far you progress I enjoyed as well. Always made me feel like Drac was feeling the heat and decided to up his 'defences'.
But yeah I pretty much agree with everything you said.
I liked the game so much I decided to start a 'remake' and teach myself some UE4 blueprints a while back.
No time to work on it though T_T

You have to set your main account (which you purchase stuff from) to the new PS4 Pro as the main account.
That way you can download you games on the other system.
I still think you need to have a separate ps plus subscription if you want to play online with it on a different account. (but dont quote me on this.)
This is what my brother and I do with our systems, the games I buy i buy with my own account, which is logged in on my PS4. My account is set as the main account on his system, so he can download all this games and play them on his system as well. However he has his own PS plus subscription.

Just watched all episodes as well, wishing there was more right now.
Good thing a second season is confirmed and it has 8 epsisodes, so that is something to look forward to in 2018. =]

THE NATURE OF SHARDS
I think you misinterpreted a bit what Shard System actually is. The first Shard you get, gives you this sentence: "Demon power that has been crystalized. It cannot be handled by a ordinary person". Shards are demon power crystalized. Not demon power AS crystal. It's like a box. You have a box with a cat inside. The cat was "boxed". The box is NOT the cat, it just contains the cat inside of it. Shards aren't the magic itself, they just CONTAIN Demon magic inside of them. That's why, when Miriam uses them, the powers themselves aren't crystalized. At least,that's how i see things. If that is the case, than there really is no reason for the familiars/summons to be crystallised at all.

turned into a completely blue crystal like everything else you summon. it's just a waste of cool art design. I agree: The second image seems to be what we are getting at the moment. It just a random crystal texture being applied to the model. If they decide to keep going with the blue crystal look however, I at least hope some of the original texture shines trough the crystal texture. (bottom pic)

Well here is the thing about the 'proper' familiars.
If they are creatures that decide to help you out, like the knight familiar (or the devil/faerie familiar from SotN), you dont need to absorb them as a crystal, and they are just 'buddies that help you out'.
For the other creatures, that are actually your enemies, you can absorb their power. Since they are not actually helping you out, but Miriam is using her own powers to materialise these summons, it would be in the shape of crystals.
But again, it is inconsistent the way it is right now. The Bones and Spears that Miriam uses in the 2017 e3 demo, she materialises them out of nowhere as well, however these are not crystallised. She is literally pulling out an actual spear out of thin air.
So what should happen in my opinion, either crystalise everything in the style of CA for things that Miriam uses with her crystal powers. (summons, projectiles, etc.) Or make everything use their original model with perhaps a colour swap. So the 'blue familiars will just use their original textures, like the bones and spears do at the moment.
I should really go into the 2016 demo files and do a quick little test of... I just dont have time at the moment T_T

Well to explain why I would go with CA...
The game designers obviously intend for Miriams powers to be based on crystals. So the summons are crystal manifestations.
Id much rather see a crystalized version of the original creature with its original colours (or with a palette swap if it gets hard to read) than a generic 'random' blue blue colour.
The 'clear' crystalized form still gives a semblance of the original creature. Like it is obviously drawn from it.
The magic blue outline (or any other colour for that matter) is for it to look like it is controlled. So the player will not confuse it with an enemy. The differently coloured outline distinguishes it from the original creature itself as well.
--- Just checked out the demo and vids again. Her powers being crystal based doesnt seem to be consistent at all. The throw bone and throw spear powers are simply using the original model and textures. It is not a crystalized version. So why they chose to go with the weird blue textures for the familiars make no sense to me.

I am personally fine with the crystallised look, however i feel like simply making all familiars/summons blue is super lazy and I am not a big fan of it aesthetically. Made a quick image with some ideas from this topic mixed with some of my own. Personally i feel like if they go with the original colours + crystal effect + magic outline, that'd be best. (CA) Original - ... the original creature. PA - Palette swapped version of the original creature. PB - Original palette, however it has a magic outline. PC - Palette swap + magic outline. CA - Original colours, Crystal effect + magic outline. CB - Original colours, Crystal effect, no outline. CC - Original colours, Crystal effect, default outline. CD - Palette swap + Crystal effect, Magic outline. CE - Original colours, crsytal effect + white outlines. There are so many possibilities here, for example crystal + pallete swap without the outlines, with the black outlines, white outlines etc. etc.
