So i was wondering how you guys would like the puzzles to be in Bloodstained, the purpose of the thread is to collect specific puzzles ideas you would like to see, what level of difficult you want them to be, should we have more puzzles than previous games, and what about puzzles mechanics should we keep the classic "interact with the foregrond" logic or should we expand the puzzle system somehow? We should discuss it and share suggestions.
My general view is that we could have more puzzles on the game and separate them on different difficult levels in a way the hard ones are not supposed to be solved by anyone (not easily), it should require time and hard thought, of course for that reason these ones won't be essential to beat the game, may be used to access secret areas and get new non-essential itens, however the easy to medium ones may be required to progress. So i believe we could do it different from the previous games and have more focus on that regards.

I'm not into puzzles which you have to resolve just to progress through the game, but I'd really love to see puzzles to unlock a certain secret area like the clock room from SOTN

Doesn't need much in the form of puzzles like the previous user said puzzles like the clock puzzle in sotn, pushing boxes, and abilities to access new areas are all you need. Equipment, and abilities should be focus with progressing

Yes that's right, i do not mean that they should be required to progress, the point is that i believe there are too few of them and they are too simple, nobody needs to "lose time" solving them however they should be there for who wants to do it, i feel they could be a good replace for most --hit the wall to break it-- logic to find secret rooms and also i wanted to hear some original puzzle ideas from the fans. It is optional content so i don't see it as a bad thing, and since Bloodstained is a whole new franchise it seems a good time to expand how the puzzles works.
For example, Puzzle 1. we could have a room with standing water that requires you to -somehow- freeze it so you can be able to walk on top of the frozen water to reach the secret room/area, in this example you could find in the rooms some cold air tubes or freeze devices that could be moved/interacted somehow to make the water freeze. Another way to solve the problem could turn on a heater somewhere else on the castle and somehow set the power to max so the water will boils after a certain time (several minutes). [easy?]
Puzzle 2. You find a room with a strange black rose/flower on the center and enemies around who bleeds when attacked by any sharp weapon. So if you make the blood reach the black rose/flower it will slowly be painted red (very slowly so i won't become obvious), then after a certain ammount of blood have reached the flower it will trigger the next growth stage of the flower that only actually grows after a certain time have passed, repeating the process and making the flower grow. In the end the flower will blossom and on that time an item will drop from it on the floor. [medium?]
The old simple puzzles could just continue to exist, i am just suggesting some extra improved puzzles, at least for me it makes the game better to have these things (optional not forced).

I like those ideas. The first thing sounds kind of like a common Metroidvania progression element and the second kind of an item secret. I guess these things are technically puzzles, but not what I initially thought you were talking about... I would prefer things like this that have to do with changing your environment to progress in a natural way, i.e. things that would plausibly occur in a natural way given the stage's area - not moving blocks or platforms. The rose thing seems like something that could be in the same category as the confession booth in SotN, kind of a room for atmosphere/game flavor that may not be a puzzle (or could be), but is there to make things interesting and immerse us in the beauty of a 'vania's detail. That was the best way I could think to word that lol So yeah, I think I'd be fine with whatever they could include in this type of category, potentially a good amount actually, and maybe even some of our content contributors could help with this. We don't want to overwhelm the player with things like this, but perhaps one or two such things per area on average?
