So what you're saying is that if my 12-year-old cousin who's seen Deadpool, a bunch of Quentin Tarantino movies, every episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and South Park, and enjoys running around as a naked girl in Yandere Simulator and Saint's Row listens to the podcast episode, they'll get bored because it's mostly about retro games?

Okay cool, because I don't really have a 12-year-old cousin who's done all of that and isn't interested in retro games. He's actually 7 and his dad won't let him watch Always Sunny because Danny DeVito gave him a nightmare once. I wouldn't want someone like that to get bored.

I just remembered... BEYOND OASIS NEEDS ANOTHER GAME!!!!!! I loved the hell out of that game and the saturn prequel isnt enough, more story of thor with next gen packed to the gills content wrapped in its nostalgic overhead style dammit!

Well, I listened all the way up to when you guys started talking about Undertale at the end because I haven't beaten that yet...

My thoughts:
Castlevania 3! imo, it's a better Castlevania 1. I think that's pretty much the consensus, too. It's basically like what Super Mario 3 is to SMB1. Just...more/better of everything, and it's easier. If you think it's too challenging, though, the Famicom version is a bit easier than the NA version.
When the host said "well, I think we're Castlevania and Bloodstained out...", I was thinking "but...you hardly talked about them!" lol. There was a lot about that failed Jaguar shell console and random news, Kanye West, etc etc. You got to explain what Bloodstained was for about a minute or two and then that was about it lol.
I did find it refreshing though that they do seem to be pretty knowledgeable/know what they're talking about and are pretty funny. The cursing/raunchiness is more or less a front or gimmick for the show, they're smart guys.
I always thought the SotN Game Over screen was a reference or quote from something (as Japanese developers love using stuff like that), but apparently it's not. It confused me at first, too lol. You also couldn't really skip it...
Speaking of, I think your suggestion of SotN to a person who's relatively new or not accustomed to games is a great choice. Like that example IGA himself gave of the middle aged woman who normally didn't play games...it's a good place to start for everybody.

Lastly, I guess...this dude played for hours and didn't find a save point? It's hard to imagine that's even possible hahaha. It's such a shame somebody would only play a few hours and give up over an initial bad experience. There's so much great game there, and it's certainly not hard to get through once you understand it. I hope he goes back to it.

lol, hopefully. I'm curious what answers you'll get to your question. Everyone is always "oh, this game movie/movie game is a TERRIBLE IDEA", no-one ever has the courage to come out and say you know what, x would be a great idea!

It helps perhaps that I'm a southern gamer myself, so I can appreciate what they're doing haha. So long as cursing isn't mixed with hate/ignorance, I don't really mind it.

Re: more time, well...the show was 2 hours. I think they just got sidetracked or something? And oh, before I forget, you all mentioned a Final Fantasy concert in Nashville I think, in May/April. Is that the A New World by Distant Worlds tour? If it is, I don't see that date...but I do see a stop by them in Winston Salem, NC. Just trying to make sure I'm not missing something. If TN was the closest one to me, I might try to go.
