Just like in Dawn of Sorrow have the ability to have different equipment sets. In Order of Ecclesia the three different sets you can switch between was only the glyphs you had equipped. Take it a step further by also switching the equipment of each of those sets just because some glyphs in that game like magic required more INT boosting equipment but the physical glyphs required STR boosting gear. Sets may or may not be changed on the fly while the game is in motion but at the very least allow equipment sets and skills sets be made in the menu screen for convenience.
This can even be implemented as a game enhancer by allowing quick changes between 3 sets like in OoE, but with the added effect of equipment changing, you can have a boss whose weakness changes depending on the form it has one form is fire based, another is lighting and finally water.
For the fire form u can have water based skills and fire reducing armor in one set, for lighting an earth based skills and lighting reducing gear in another and for water a lighting based skill and water reducing equipment.
Mastering quick slot switching can be encouraged by giving certain equipment weakness to other elements so that managing your inventory and the quick slots will greatly increase the engagement of the player. Mind you this should not be forced on the player as this way the gameplay is inviting to new players but can be greatly engaging to experienced players. Even build the hard difficulty mode with this in mind.
To cap this point off this is not just for bosses you can also do this in the way enemy placement is used in the castle. Lets say you have a physical set, magical set, and a movement set.

As long as its handled in the menu and given its own tab so it doesn't affect actual gameplay and is of convienence then this is something I always wished SotN had.
I'd worry if it were anything more handy though or you'll get Into mega man power swaps mid fight or at best dark souls esque ring swap riposts like gameplay. As much as I liked that menu ninjaing in DaS I don't think it has a place in this sort of game.
All that said having outfits / equipgroupes it's is a fantastic idea.

Yup. The menu swapping over real time swapping is my preferred way to go but if they decide to go the OoE route and implement a real time quick swap I would also love having those quick slots affect your equips and not just the glyphs/skills you use because some of the glyphs in the game required different equip set ups to maximize their effectiveness.
I just added the elemental weakness switching thing so the genre may benefit from new mechanics and not just the exact same thing. Kinda like how the sorrow games had souls, portrait had partners and Ecclesia had a stamina/mana bar (and the amazing magnes and redire combo). Portrait has a bonus for having a different play style for charlotte spell charging etc.

i said this in the ui topic a while back, im all for a dual equipment setup like dos (i find the ooe method to be a bit clunky though, not sure if its the 3 sets cause i constantly select the wrong one when changing or the fact that its a button combo so i have to stop what im doing to cycle through them and try to remember which ones which, dos i hit a button and its done), i think hotkeying usables though has the potential to destroy the challenge of the game through spam strats so that option would need to be under a LOT of scrutiny to avoid that if its going to be implemented

Given the direction things were moving with the Sorrow games, Order of Ecclesia, etc. I fell pretty confident we will get Magic and Equipment loadouts that are quick swapable
