I remember seeing the kickstarter for this game, it looks pretty strange but fun at the same time. Kinda reminds me of earthbound...

Sorry to bump this so late (I don't visit this forum often enough it seems). But this game is amazing. The best. It beat out To The Moon as the most feel-sy game I've ever played, Bastion as the best Indie game I've ever played, and managed to be funnier than most all at the same time. There's a demo on the dev's website should anyone be interested in giving it a shot. I highly recommend all of you try it.
Alright, now that that's off my chest I can go back to not obsessing so much about getting people to play this.

I just finished my first playthrough of Undertale, and wanted to post how I felt and see what other people here thought about it. My review: I want to pretend Undertale was made when Japanese writer Shigesato Itoi and British writer Alan Moore were both walking down a hallway, bumped into each other, and both of them went "You got Watchmen and Swamp Thing comics in my Earthbound cartridge!" "You got an Earthbound cartridge in my Watchmen and Swamp Thing comics!". But instead, it felt like Itoi went "You got Watchmen and and Swamp thing comics in my Earthbound cartridge!" and Moore replied with "Piss off, you filthy wanker!" before peeing on them just to spite Itoi and casting a magic spell on them at the same time since Moore's also a magician who worships a snake god and can do that type of thing. I liked Undertale's characters, graphics, soundtrack, and writing. They felt like a magic spell that was cast by a British magician that also worships a snake god. This game came close to giving me the impression it was tailor-made just for me, which is something I haven't felt since I played Bioshock Infinite. However, that feeling was ruined by the actual combat. I did not enjoy the bullet dodging elements! At all! Having to constantly dodge stuff (and suck at it) in a narrative-driven linear RPG felt like a mean-spirited British guy peed on something I liked just to spite me! I didn't think mixing that type of combat in this type of game was a good idea. ...But I liked how the game got creative with it in boss battles. I just wish I wouldn't have to take as much damage or end up healing as much as I did in the actual game. I want to do a pacifist mode playthrough of the game and get the best ending. I'm not expecting it to be easy, but at the same time, I'm not sure if I want to do it or have the patience to put up with it since I'm not a fan of bullet dodging. I think the main reason I made it as far as I did was because I killed some enemies in order to have an HP buffer/higher defense. Overall, I'd give the game a solid 8.5/10. It has a lot of things I like, I thought it did those things well, and I'd recommend it. But I didn't go crazy over the game like everyone else did when it came out almost 6 months ago. Here's the parts I really enjoyed. I'm putting them in spoiler tags because I had no idea they were coming, everyone I knew who played the game kept their mouth shut about them, and I'd like to extend that same courtesy to the five or so people who still haven't played Undertale yet. -Sans and Papyrus's comedic shenanigans
-Getting stalked by Undyne.
-Mettaton's cooking show and FF6-style opera scene.
-Encountering Asgore and finding out he's actually quite friendly and John Goodman-esque... until you have to fight him.
-Flowey breaking the fourth wall with his boss fight. It was a annoying at first, but I'm relieved at how it saved as the fight continued and I didn't have to start over again.
-I felt Muffet, Papyrus, and Undyne were my favorite boss fights.

I've only done the Pacifist route, (I don't need Chara screwing up my PC) and the storyline/character development is astounding. I've starting covering a few songs from the OST, as well. 'Death By Glamour' is my favorite. :p

I really enjoyed Undertale but didn't fall in love with it like many others did.
