dareka On the CotM > RotN talk, you nailed like a vampire's heart. I felt the same way somewhat, but couldn't put my finger on how and why till you said that.

I can't speak for other folks but I've always associated a specific visual and audio design with the CV series.
RotN is a fun game but in terms of visual designs it draws the short straw when compared to virtually any CV game and the OST isn't exactly Michiru Yamane's best work either.
With CotM everything clicks. Visual design, music and gameplay. It's the perfect CV experience, of course at a lower technical level. Whereas with RotN there's always the feeling of looking back and thinking what could have been.
Just take a look at the early concept artwork:
Now I'm not a programmer so I'm not sure how feasible the following statement is but I don't think the artwork above is that far removed from what Way Forward was able to accomplish with Half Genie Hero by blending 2D and cleverly shaded 3D elements. I would love to see a sequel to RotN that attempts to go for this look even if ends up being a smaller game. I mean that's great and I actually agree to a point, but a lot of the time it's only as deep as "I don't like Miriam as a character because she's a girly girl, CotM was better". I apologize for this, but could you elaborate what you mean if it's not bothersome, i'm like brain age 68 apparently.

^There's a clever "Flying Nun" joke in there somewhere.. I just can't seem to find it. :p Any way, this was all a nice little surprise. I look foward to playing this game when it comes out "soon". Also, (nobody from inti will probably see this but..) Happy 25th Anniversary Inti Creates!

Does everyone have to say this when they praise Curse of the Moon? I see it so often lol. I get it, we all get it It feels like every post of ReySol's here and in the discord, he says it, and he's not the only one. That's great! and Zangetsu is a MAAAN and not some giiiiirl sorry, it just gets to me sometimes. I can't speak for other folks but I've always associated a specific visual and audio design with the CV series.

So simple yet had so much flair to it that I wouldn't mind if made a future RotN patch or sequel with it.

I can't remember where I read this, but it said the levels will be broken up into "chapters." That reminds me of Ninja Gaiden on the NES.

I can't remember where I read this, but it said the levels will be broken up into "chapters." That reminds me of Ninja Gaiden on the NES. From my current understanding, there will be cut-scenes between at least some of the stages, and each playthrough is considered an "episode." The content of the cut-scenes changes each "episode" (i.e., playthrough). That's my current understanding, and why it says on the official website that, at first, only the first "episode" is available to play.

Camp fire cut scenes between stages and an evolving story across multiple playthroughs. Let's hope Inti didn't look to that game for inspiration for the game's final boss...
