"...For the Castlevania series, Sony apparently has a full reboot in mind, which it would accomplish with the collaboration of Koji Igarashi and Shutari Iida, two veteran developers who have worked on multiple games in the franchise. I think Foffy is on target about this stuff. Sony *could* help get Castlevania moving again, and it could even be with Iida and Igarashi, but that seems pretty far-fetched. I also assume this rumor isn't connected to the "CV3 open world" game that a redditor was talking about. I don't know if rebooting Castlevania again would even be a good idea... |

A souls-bourne type game would be a good fit for Castlevania, if it had to be rebooted. Something has to happen with these IPs eventually. Sony buying them, or even a sharing arrangment seems likely.

I hope not. I think CV series will just go in a worse direction. It had it's time, let's not desecrate the memory.

Cale I disagree. If Lords of Shadow and Netflix is how the series ends up in history, I'd rather gamble on something new.

I don't think CV can get any worse than Lords of Shadow. Sony has a pretty good track record with first-party/exclusives, so I'm interested to see what they'd do with it.

Personally, not a fan of "Soulsborne" games. Also, am strongly opposed to the idea Sony gaining full ownership of the IP.
If Castlevania were ever to make a console comeback, I'd want it to be available as many platforms as possible.

I won't say it's impossible or not happening, but a lot of these "leaks" end up being either some guy just making stuff up or some other guy exaggerating what he overheard at a company meeting. Occasionally they're true, but with such a track record you'd be ill-served to bet on them.
