I have played and finished the game a couple of times and to be honest its a very good first try, i dont know how better the game will get with the dlcs and the updates only time will tell, but during my time playing the game i see some features need a little bit of work and some options to be added.
TL,DR:
1. A better and convenient character customization.
2. A more simplified combat mechanics

3. Things i want just because
.
4. Better movement
.
5. 69 SECONDS???.
At the end all i want are more options for everything.
1. THE CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION: the game has the option to change Miriam´s appearance, the color of the hair, clothes, eyes, type of hair, type of eyes, and by equipping head gear, masks and scarves, there are 2 types of character customization in the game, one in the cathedral and the other in the pause menu, the thing for me is why not combine these 2 types of customization in the pause menu, put another option called Todd and have an any time better access to him instead of going all the way to the cathedral, and i propose something else, i dont know how many of you have played or even heard the game Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U, that game also has character customization at the beginning of the game and during the game, being an rpg you equip gear to get better stats and thats good but the character you created and your partners dont always look good, different set of armors and weapons most of the time guarantees your characters to look ugly, BUT it has another option of gear.... FASHION GEAR.
What this means its that you can change the look of the characters to something that you like while keeping the stats of the ugly armors, for example: a bikini, shorts, bunny suit, tuxedo, sunglasses, hats etc.
I dont know if they are going to expand
the customization beyond the color scheme or the gear you equipped to all characters (Miriam, Zangetsu, ?) available in the game but it would be great addition to the game, killing the final boss while wearing the most silly outfits without the worry of having the lowes stats.
2.THE COMBAT: there are a couple of things that need improvement ,the first one is the tecniques of the weapons, certain weapons have an alternative attack by inputting the command in certain direction and pressing the attack button, the problem is that there are a lot of weapons and a lot of commands for every type of weapon AND sometimes a different command in the same type of weapon, it makes me wonder why didnt they make the combat similar to DAWN OF SORROW, every weapon in that game has a super attack at the cost of mp with the press of ONE BUTTON, im playing the game on PS4 and the default control DOESNT use the circle button, so why not change it to be more simple and convienent to the players who want to use this optional attacks, i know the game tries to appeal to those who love Symphony of the Night, but the more i look and play the game it feels more to the sorrow games, especially DAWN of SORROW.
Speaking of DAWN OF SORROW, another thing that does really well its the combat, it feels faster compared to Bloodstained, one button for attack, one button for the super attack, and one button to swap your gear (weapon, armor, souls), while Bloodstained also has swapping mechanic it pauses the game until you decide what you want instead of swapping on the fly like DOS, maybe holding the shortcut button will open the wheel and tapping the shoulder buttons changes your gear (clockwise and or counter clockwise) instantly without the pause, also why is there a dedicated button for the conjure shards?
Most of the Castlevania games have up and attack for the subweapons, it makes me wonder why change the control scheme like that, in Curse of the Moon has the option to change it to one button or up and attack.
3.MISC. STUFF: One thing that i hope and that actually made it to the game its the map, you can manipulate it however you want, big, small, on any place, markers and disable the map, but one thing that didnt its having a complete removal of the hud, i already mention that you can turn off the map but when you die its on when you restart from the saveroom or begin to play, its not permanent, you have to turn off the map manually everytime, i want to be able to turn off the health and mp bar, the number damages, the map and the names of the objetcs, enemies, bosses, weapons, armors, having the least amount of things on the screen to me its the best, i focus on what im doing by not getting distracted by numbers, names or how low my health is, the screen tells me that by turning red.
Another thing that i want now that i played the game, certain gears changes the perspective of the screen by zoom in or zoom out, why not make it an option instead of equipping the gear.
4.MOVEMENT: Miriam controls fine most of the time until you get to traverse in water, either you have to turn off deep sinker or have the aqua stream shard to move underwater, never combine and always going to the menu to do the necessary changes, i dread going to this place because of this, the SORROW games have this problem too, my recommendation its to treat the water as thin platforms, when you are in water press down and jump and you start to sink and "swimming" with the jump button and be able to use the aqua stream without restriction.
Reflector ray and dimmension shift are mandatory and have the same problem ( at least for me) of going to the menu and select the shard i need or have it on one of the shortcuts... i dont have a "solution" to this "problem" but having this abilities on the fly could make the movement more fluid, like at anytime you can double jump, slide or use invert but not these OTHER-MANDATORY-TO-COMPLETE-THE-GAME shards, there arent enough buttons in the controller for the things im asking, if i tell you use this button for this action then there is not room for another action because there are no more buttons, the one thing a can think are the manipulative shards, i always forget to use them and when i do is either craftwork or accelerator, so why not put them a dedicated button to these two abilities, you press that button and toggle between reflector or dimmension whenever you need it, the manipulative shards are very situational, if you have the accelerator you could activate it by pressing twice the direction that you want (or back and forth) then it becomes a skill shard, craftwork easly can be a directional shard, you use it to move certain object and enemies,etc.,
You can eliminate the manipulative shards and put them in other categories.
5.WHY: this is a very minor complain... the music, WHY they put the wrong track in the wrong place, inferno cave the most boring cave of the game has one of the best tracks CURSED ORPHAN, its always recommended to have the best in the end and that track could have been used in other parts of the castle like hall of termination, den of behemonts or glacial tomb, hell even as a boss battle theme.
And one last thing... im a backer, among the rewards i receive was the sountrack (digitally and phisically)
WHY THE #$%& ITS CURSED ORPHAN ONLY ONE MINUTE LONG?
You may think im asking a lot or im just too picky or plain crazy, im just want to share some thoughts about the game, im not expecting these features to be added to the game in a future update, im happy how the game turn out but having these "MINOR" suggestions could be great, a least for me =).
P.S. WHY is the IGAs back pack its DRM??
