People in various conversations, express dissatisfaction, concerning the rest of the content's release. They nag about not having a date, even estimated, show hints of impatience, display signs of immaturity and generally, lash at master Iga's work. I have to admit, i myself as a backer, am a little bit worried, over the completion and finalization of this wonderful project. I would like to fire away some questions, waiting eagerly for logical arguments, anticipating a constructive conversation... Anybody possessing useful nuggets of information, or genuine insight, is more than welcome, to participate. Just to clarify, i don't intend to flame, spread toxicity/negativity, agitate or provoke. My interest is for the game and its future, strictly.
A. Will they try to launch the extra content, to all media simultaneously? And if yes, why don't they give priority to PC, which doesn't involve the procedures and protocols that console companies do?
B. Let's be honest. How many years will be required, in order to implement all the remaining, funded stretchgoals? Shovel Knight = 6 years, for instance. Abstract announcements, beating around the bush (very soon, once we are done testing it etc) don't help much, towards that direction; on the contrary, it worries those in anticipation.
C. Is there a possibility to ditch part, or the entirety, of the "soon upcoming" content? I mean, steam store for example, recently removed the "Co-op" tag! Worst of all, the nature of some stretchgoals, directly conflict with the state that currently the game is... I mean, how can you make the game from linear, to alternatively roguelike, where and when it wasn't designed to function thusly from the very beginning, before even release? Will you be able to reprogram it or something, redesign it from scratch? Are you really up to the challenge that you yourselves created? Will you ultimately manage to deliver, if we count out time and money limitations at least, as far as hypothesis goes?
D. A large portion of the playerbase, expressed discontent about nerf/balance tweaks to the game. Pleading even, to undo said changes and/or stop this intervention to the game... Or at least postpone it, until Multiplayer is done. What is YOUR stance on it? Will you choose to ignore those being dissatisfied, or this type of alteration had been intended, even before weirdos started nagging about x shard or y weapon being OP and molesting their experience with the game? More importantly, other than GOG's DRM-Free installers and Galaxy rollback to previous versions, is there any other way to revisit a game version, pre-nerfing era?
E. People ask by the hundreds (wishlist votes, thread discussions on various platforms and storefronts), for a DRM-Free version of Curse of the Moon. Most of them, are even willing to buy it again, buy it even though it was given to them for free, etc. Is there any chance that you fulfil this request and satisfy the demand, right behind it? Is going to be profitable, nonetheless.
F. The backer digital extras (manual, artbook, soundtrack), were thrown away in a standalone download link, through fangamer. Most collectors, build libraries though and like to pack their goodies in one place, upon game shelves. For us humble GOG and Steam users, who are eligible for those things, can we also get a code for the storefront's soundtrack as well, in order to complete the package? And can you consider adding the manual and artbook, in the form of digital downloads, right inside the same page of the purchased ROTN game, in the store? Splitting between steam for curse of the book, gog for ritual of the night and random internet download links for the extras, is messy, at best.
Thanks in advance. I would appreciate views, opinions, arguments and if we can have access to it, official word, perhaps. As a backer, i admit of being worried and i would certainly like for this project, to be met with critical success, the fame and posterity it trully deserves, but has yet to conquer, i fear...
